Great informative videos, David! Given that many shops would likely not touch these little cars. It’s really up to the owners to be able to do the more simple repair work. Your videos provide that information. 👍

it's clear that the high idle does NOT come on before the enrichment on the H1 as it did on the HS2, despite what the author is saying. this is apparent starting at @7:20. nor was it designed to, regardless of age or wear. ...that aside...
it's interesting that the original H1 carbs have a dissimilar relationship between the high idle (which is adjustable on the H1) and the choke. in that on the HS2 carbs the high idle always PRECEDES the choke, whereas on the H1 the high idle comes on WITH the choke but can be adjusted to be delayed such that it will only take effect AFTER the choke has been pulled out to some degree. both have their advantages and disadvantages. bottom line is: with the H1 you can have choke without a high idle, but can't have a high idle without choke, and on the HS2 you can have high idle without choke, but you can't have choke without high idle.
in any case it's no wonder owners are confused as to the workings of the choke on these cars. especially so when the choking mechanism is in fact not just a choke but is also an idle adjustment, albeit temporary. and to make it even more confusing works in opposite ways depending which SU is installed in the car! :)

Great video, issue I'm having is when I pull on the choke fully, the jet on my hs4 is only lowering approx 4 or 5 mm. Any advice is greatly appreciated
