Goodnight! I was wondering what this mold is for? I watched the whole video thinking I would have an answer, but I stayed the same. If it's not due to my lack of education, I can ask you and see how the mold is used more trade after it's ready. Thank you very much in advance for your attention and congratulations on the very good UA-cam channel.
Inspiring! Your jigs have helped me build a great guitar, something that I never thought I’d accomplish. Sharing your creative process for creating jigs that ensure repeatable precision is inspiring. Thank you!
What a chance that you've filmed and published this brain storming and execution of this jig. I've get a very pleasant moment with you two... Oh three ! I don't forget the very sympathic dog. Salut from France

Great jig and like the way u guys think about every single aspect of the process! I’ve been working on my 2nd build and definitely looking into purchasing a few of ur templates to make the process more efficient
Well dont know what you wanna do with it but i have just hollowed out a piece of mdf in the strat body shape just to use it for making epoxy guitar bodies....
Thankyou ----Alder ---is it a Common USA hardwood ?--And is it light enuf for guitar bodies?---I build guitars in Africa -we have some gorgeous grained but rather heavy teak !---and many others !
Thankyou ---can you reveal-- the average weight of your swamp ash bodies-?--is it imported or USA grown ? From Florida everglades ?Does that jig merely HOLD the body as you work on it ?
My average swamp ash Strat body is about 3.5lbs. It comes from swampy areas…mostly Louisiana and Mississippi. The next video (this Friday) will show some of the many functions of the jig we developed in this video.
3 pieces: 1 hinge at bottom, near strap button 1 hinge at/near each horn point. Have 2 hinges always connected. Ex. Bottom hinge and one of the horns. Then just wrap it around the body and connect that one final hinge. Or……….. Just make a shell….like a jello-mold….with the necessary guide-holes for strap buttons, jacks, etc. Just drop the body into it and drill.
Seems like it may be possible to leave the top two pins in the jig, making it a two piece jig with the two bottom pins to put in, but it will depend on how much outward the side pieces of the jig can splay outward so you can pull it down past the two wide points at the top of the body where the neck bolts on. You say you should start with excellence and when I was working I always did that, I started with myself...lol !!
Not sure…there are many ways to get the job done…this seems to work for me at this time. However, I’m willing to change my mind in the future as needed.
Hello, your work is very good. Don't get me wrong, but I need some information. I would like to buy an apron like the one Hannah is wearing. Can you give me the seller's contact details? Please?
Really enjoyed what you’re doing. The asides were a bit too much like an episode of ‘The Office’… but to each their own I suppose(?). If Leo did anything, maybe it was to come up with a truly iconic pair of shapes that also are a true bear to build a jig fixture around. Well done, guys. 👍🏼
The pivot could have been close to where your #1 pin ended up on your 4-piece jig though I probably would have moved it up slightly toward the apex of the horn... The pinned joint I would have located around the area of the "O" in "MAXIMUM GUITAR WORKS"... Just my 2 cents...
@@maximumguitarworks yea, I looked. I didn’t see any available. I don’t have the tools required to build one, and generally speaking things tend be better priced when you buy from the source, and not from someone buying it and then selling it with a markup

Nice idea guys! Glad to have you back!!
Thanks for hanging with us…I hope to sustain the energy to continue the videos.
Flipping awesome great job this is my first video I've ever seen of you channel and I will like and subscribe
😄Love all the laughter involved in the process
Me too…this is much more fun for me than solo video recording.
OK ==thankyou --looking forward to see that jig in action !
Nice reveal of a problem-solving team working through to a better-than-average solution.
Thanks. We might have to do more of this style…I actually had fun making this video.

Great to hear Randy. Thanks.
Thank you ! Ear and eyes all open !
Thanks…can’t ask for anymore than that!

Tomorrow the demo and uses of this jig will go live on YouYube.

Great vid process ect... did part 2 ever materialize
This new format is great, guys! Happy to follow along.
Thank you…and thank you!
Another impressive jig!
Thank you John!
Very nice! 👍🏻
Thanks Thomas.
very cool

Thanks. We try to think of everything… perseverance helps too.
Great video.
Thanks. I enjoyed making this one.
Where are you guys in Colorado...😊 im in Greeley...cool video.
Well dont know what you wanna do with it but i have just hollowed out a piece of mdf in the strat body shape just to use it for making epoxy guitar bodies....
Awesome!
Thanks!
wHAT IS THAT LOVELY wood the Strat copy is made from?( At the beginning of the video ?)--What do you call it ?--surely not ordinary pine ?
That is Alder in the beginning shot…Swamp Ash is shown a little later.
My favorite part of this video is the dog at 33:00
I should get the dog to do the next demonstration.
Fantastic!! Excellent solution!!! This girl is to be married 🤩😍🥰
That is an awesome jig, when can I buy one?!
Very soon. Just need to get my web guy to add the product.
Thankyou ----Alder ---is it a Common USA hardwood ?--And is it light enuf for guitar bodies?---I build guitars in Africa -we have some gorgeous grained but rather heavy teak !---and many others !
Actually…looking back at the video…it is the swamp ash you liked. Super light weight (although can vary) and great grain filling and or dying.

Thanks for the comment. There are probably many ways to tackle this…but after the tests we did…I feel the the 4 pc design will suit our needs best.
By the way, I'm brasilian. thank you.

i hope you guys put at the very least put an ip on this. unless ya nicked it. LOL
looks cool! good-luck
Why not just install latches on both sides so it would lock it the same time time it would tighten it to the body💡

I was aiming for more of an Orange County Choppers episode…without the fighting.
@@maximumguitarworks Outstanding! 🤣
Ahh, but just think of the clicks a scrap or three could bring. 😉🤣
🙂
🍀❤️❤️🎼🎵🎶👌✌️🎸🍂🍁🌹
So ---? all that work --and what exactly does the jig do ??---what is the mystery ?
Next episode will show many of the functions. What we planned it to do…plus the other functions we added.
You actually could have made this jig in 2 pieces and had it just clamshell open on a pivot, you were just off abit on your joints...
The pivot could have been close to where your #1 pin ended up on your 4-piece jig though I probably would have moved it up slightly toward the apex of the horn... The pinned joint I would have located around the area of the "O" in "MAXIMUM GUITAR WORKS"... Just my 2 cents...
Itd be a lot better if you’d just sell us a body 😂
Always an option! :-)
We do for OEM customers…but we should probably just throw it up as a standard product on the website.

that's pure over engineering . thanks anyway
Too much of a drama for little things ☝️. No guitar builder or luthier waste their time on making jigs or migs unless is a mess production 🙌imo.✋
Wrong, there’s ample reasons to make any automation easier, even for one off jobs
Did you mean imo?
