- The owner dropped these parts to make a nice new Fender Telecaster in red! A Lewis custom body, Allparts neck, Fender Vintage 64 pickups, vintage tuners and electronics... it should be a really sweet guitar.
In this video, I show you the steps involved to install Fender Vintage '64 Pickups on a Telecaster electric guitar. Thanks for watching!

Putting painter’s tape in the neck pickup cavity to help site the drill holes is such a great tip - thank you!
Your content is always fantastic. Thanks for helping me learn more effective guitar repair and upgrade techniques. And thank you again for the pickup gauges from a while back, just finished using them on my Classic Vibe Tele, they make adjusting quick and easy.
Awesome, Russ... good to hear from you!
Thanks for showing how to install the neck pickup.
how does it sound?
This was helpful. I’m planning to install these pickups on a Squier Tele. I wish the video spent more time on connecting the wires and soldering.
Very helpful video. Question - can you install these on Telecasters, like the MIM Player, where the neck pickup attaches to the pickguard? Or do you need to replace the pickguard too?
You probably can, drill some holes, make sure the screws are long enough and get some rubber bushings. Don't drill until you ha e checked all of the parts, first😁
I just got this set. I just have a complaint regarding the pickups been too microphonic. Was it for you as well?
The owner of the guitar liked them...
@ManotickGuitarTech did you also find them microphonic?
@@MrShowman92 don't know... that was like 2 years ago
Why do those PU's cost so damn much?
They do seem pricey
