I'm glad you put the episodes on this channel. The main channel's comment section is really toxic, which is weird since Spawnwave is quite a neutral gaming news channel.
I’ve always thought the same. Guess it doesn’t matter how neutral you try to be when it comes to gaming because the audience will always be comprised of gamers, and gamers love to bitch about pretty much anything lol. My solution ofc is “don’t look at comments,” but I like actually having a real convo with well-adjusted people when it’s a smaller community.
You guys should add a PlayStation Backlog section. Where you guys discuss a PlayStation game from the different generations of PlayStation. You guys can rate it as a play/don't play at the end of the discussion. This can help fill time for slow news weeks.
People forgot how short most Games (without batteries) in the 16bit era were. A Super R-Type or Probotector is just around 30-45min -- and we paid 89,95 DM to 149,95DM for some of the Games (OK, the latter one was more a Big Box Game such as Super Metroid with DIN A4 Guidebook)
With the AR tech, it’s used at Mario Kart in Super Nintendo World, and while I wasn’t huge on the ride, the tech was cool. You shot virtual characters with virtual turtle shells, and you aimed by looking at where you wanted to shoot. It took a little getting used to and was t flawless, but it was cool nonetheless.
The translator did an excellent job! Who cares he's using a notebook? It's just helping him do a better job. So many detailed information, you think translators are machines? 😂 First, I LOVE comedy and "memes" way more than the next guy, and there was nothing funny about the thing. Second, just because it's different it should be funny? 🤦♂️ The idea that the translator doesn't care is insane to me. 😂 He literally had a notebook! And that somehow means he doesn't care? Wow. Funny how some people have a whole different perspective.
Regarding the translator with the notepad, note taking is actually a very common practice when it comes to consecutive translation (seen here) that you might see in international conferences or presentations in the context where the speaker/interpreter are sitting down. It’s a form of interpretation that allows the speaker to talk for longer periods of time before stopping to allow for the translation to occur. It’s kinda strange to do it standing up I’ll admit and you don’t really ever see it in these live gaming presentations because as the meme suggests it’s kinda awkward to watch especially when the speaker halts more often to allow for the translation.
Usually, if I’m having a tough time with an enemy, I’ll try over and over and finally just go to bed, only to defeat the dang thang first try the next time I play. Shoutout to tiredness 😅
15:41 I think the term for this ought to be "latent fandom" if it isn't already. I always come back to 2042 and Halo because those are what I know, but they both had pretty big launches that immediately died off because they weren't good. I think if Halo had launched like it is today and 2042 had.. been something else.. they would've done a helldivers 2 and grown after launch. Assuming post launch content was good and what not.
When talking about game length I never see people bring up two shorter "recently" PS published games: Uncharted: Lost Legacy and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Do we have any indication on how well those did?
Yes, all Jak games are all on ps4(ps5 with backwards compatibility), but we don't have Jak 1 through 3 and X, with a native ps5 version and save states and rewind, which makes me beg the question, will they re-release the native ps2 version of those games and give those features?
I’ll never try VR because I barely have time to play games. Never mind locking myself in the bedroom with a headset and goggles on to sit down for a gaming session. Maybe when I’m retired. Most people that have the money to go drop on it don’t have the lifestyle that allows time to enjoy it. Kids have time but not money. Adults have money but no time.
It's funny hearing how excited you two, especially Ryan, are for these old PS2 games. After playing Sly and Daxter for a little bit... Yeahhhh to get me half as hyped as you guys, I would at least want PS to add the improvements to framerate and resolution like the Xbox does! I have been spoiled with the back compat on my Xbox apparently... because it is just a huge difference running n old game on my PS5 compared to my Series X
Sitting here playing Super Metroid listening to the lads. Just thinking how long metroid prime remastered is ... Like 15 to 20 hours but because ive to memorise a lot of where i need to go, the challenging combat, i feel the game feels way longer than 15 hours. Same with the last of us part one lotta strategy figuring out so it felt long. TLOU2 is what 40 hours? Ive been looking at it for weeks and with it being summer im not gonna go at that now till winter
I completely agree with Jon about the "fatigue" with these massive open-world games nowadays. As I get older I realize that my time is more valuable and I don't have as much to put into playing video games, so I have to prioritize which ones I wanna play. I'm more than content with a 15-20 hour experience that's excellent all the way through, as opposed to a 45-50+ hour game with loads of filler for the sake of padding out that runtime. FFVII Rebirth was that game for me. I enjoyed it but it really felt like most of the open-world content was just a big time waster. Even the animations were slow and sluggish. Perfect example for me of a game that I felt didn't really respect my time all that much.
VR is a game like it's not mainstream if it was it would have been by now the mass majority still rejected like 3D televisions any obscure gimmick of the past
i don't think we "need" generative AI in games in order to "speed up" development, i think that we just don't need every game to be either these sprawling open worlds with huge workloads, these bustling live service games with huge workloads, or these richly detailed 7 hour narrative experiences with huge workloads. i don't think games need to be bigger; they need to be smaller. we don't need all of these unnecessary graphical details and all these "real time" worlds that beat the console down and don't allow the developers to actually do anything cooler or more innovative than "PS3 games with bigger worlds and faster load times". modern technology should be enabling so much more creativity than providing realistic graphics and endless vistas that are so arduous to make that everyone acts like we *need* to have AI because we *need* to have more of these games that we're already extremely oversaturated with.
John was very weird about the sly cooper thing. You can tell Ryan was dodging hard. Ryan knows something, told John in private, and John was trying to get Ryan to admit it. Why else would he pry the same subject over and over again? Ryan tried playing it off but idk .... A little too much interest for a speculation.
I always like click R3 but it’s going to rub off on people who don’t like it soon or down the line. Clicking R3 isn’t something most people use when playing the game. For casuals it’s a hidden button. It’s different it’s fresh and I’m here for it.
First thing I see "typography" wise is "A Playstation Podcast" just seems a bit too tall. I would scrunch in a bit. I bit more margins you know? Other than that. great !
Disagree, Jon. The technology in PSVR2 is not that good because it still makes people sick. Until Sony fixes it, PSVR isn't going far. Also, they gotta give people the option of playing with a regular controller. People don't want to wave their arms for several hours. Some people do? Fine. Now add an option for those who don't. Fix these two things in PSVR3, and you will sell more units. They preceed price, weight, being connected to the console by cable and "killer app". Edit: just heard what Ryan said. Disagree. Sure, some ignorant people are stuck in the "it's a gimmick" loop, but, again, that's not the main issue and I speak from experience. I returned my PSVR2 because: 1. it made me very sick very fast. 2. It forced me to wave my arms all the time. When you don't give people the option to just relax by playing with a normal controller, that specific part feels like a gimmick. Having said all of that, there's potential in VR, obviously. It looks great. But it's not just about the looks. Players need to feel comfortable while using it. I don't need to pretend I'm holding a freaking bow and arrow to play Horizon. Why do I have to do it in PSVR? 🤦♂️ They are making me work needlessly. I just want to relax and play. I'm not saying remove it from the game. No, leave it for those who like it. But ADD an option to play without those bizarre and exhausting arms gestures. And stop making people suffer from motion sickness. They're charging 500 bucks for a puke machine? Don't expect to sell many units of that, man!!! I know I repeated myself a lot. But I just feel no one is listening to the most OBVIOUS things. Stop treating people like cash cows. They won't buy your product if you make them sick and bore them with needless and CONSTANT arms gestures.
I'm glad you put the episodes on this channel. The main channel's comment section is really toxic, which is weird since Spawnwave is quite a neutral gaming news channel.
And for no reason too! I swear people don’t have lives outside of their computers 😭

more like yall a bunch of flakes. it the internet dont take stuff seriously 😂
All he has to do is ban people but he doesn't do that.

My 2 best game youtubers
When Bluepoint announces a VR Sly Cooper game, the egg on your faces for this episode. Ha.
Obviously in jest, great episode 2 gentlemen.
Thought this one would be live. I loved Ryan's face when you tried to pull that fast one in the SpawnCast 😂
I love tuning into the xrossbar dual sense giant enemy crab podcast
Click R3 X Sacred Symbols would slap
Colin and Ryan talking about random Playstation history for hours would be awesome
@@Scott-gb7yi They did do one ua-cam.com/video/waPYTdIycOg/v-deo.htmlsi=SUuEROXTY4zQg3TM
Definitely one of the better playstation podcast on the internet
This episode was 🔥
I'd like to see a PC podcast next, I understand it won't be as popular but you could maybe just do 1 a month, John & Evan.
I’m liking this new podcast , solid so far guys 👊🏼
Me too
You guys should consider having Bryan Paul from PSVR Without Parole as a guest. Really enjoying this podcast so far
I didnt expect to see my top 2 gaming youtubers to collab wow this is awesome
Best Podcast!😊
NEW EP OF EX-ROSS CLICK3R, AW YISS!

MysticWave Click R3 Podcast
Lovin the DLC just dropped the Impaler
Ooh MysticWave I love that
4K 60fps is good enough. I want this to be the peak. If it costs more or takes longer to make 8k or 120fps it is not worth it
I really like the Click R3 onscreen logo.
You just reminded me I used to do all my destiny 1 dailies on remote play using the vita 😂
Great show guys, Love the new podcast 👍👍
Mystic Ryan, in podcast form, that is what the gaming podcast scene is missing!
Good stuff as always John and Ryan
Ah so every episode is gonna add another hour. Nice keep it up guys.
Yesss was waiting for this!

Lol if you mean him being pale white. It think it's the lighting.

Putting on a VR headset at Lowes is a good way to get your cart stolen.
When is this coming on Spotify?
I second this! I like to put podcasts on Spotify app on my PS5 while gaming 😅
Interesting wording.
oh man i remember the ps4 remote app on pc, used it once to play modern warfare remastered
I would do anything for a new sequel to Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper this gen!

20:56 mine is still disconnecting randomly. 😕
I would love for more shorter AAA gaming experiences, 15-20 hours is more than enough for me.
15 to 20 hours is STILL to long. 8 hours would be perfect. It's like watching 4 2-hours long movies.
What’s the upload schedule for this podcast? Love it so far
I like PSX Gonna Give It To You.
If I come away with one thing from this episode, it's that now I really want to play Gran Turismo on PSP at 60 FPS
PSX gonna give it to ya is brilliant. RIP DMX.

My first remote play experience was playing ffxiv on my vita, wasn’t unplayable but was extremely hard lol
I would be surprised if Bluepoint weren't working on Bloodborne 2.
PlayStation has the “mascots” that imo CAN contend with Nintendo. The company just needs to believe in the Sly’s and Astro’s of its portfolio
Awesome
Yes.
Im excited to try Sly Cooper but I really need Ape Escape 3 on PSN
Oh yeahh
Xross is alive!!!
This 1 a proper metal slug game a running gun shooter
Great 👍 time to build a PC and enjoy the best versions of PlayStation games
Maybe BluePoint is making Bloodborne 2 or King's Field.
I would buy anything sly cooper.
I thought Stars was down longer. Seemed like it went down as soon as Days of Play started.
I think I'm only sold on PS Plus Premium if they add two things: PS3 Emulation on the PS5 locally and Streaming options for mobile and not JUST on PC.
You can already stream your ps4 or ps5 to your phone and play games. Or we're you referring to something else
I’m not a DLC enjoyer and wish they would separate DLC trophies from the main game trophies so that it doesn’t affect my percent completion.
I might buy a PS5 Pro just for AstroBot lol
PSVR2 is great and I feel bad for people that don't jump in.
