  • Demonstration of my vintage 1949 SINGER 241-12 Industrial sewing machine. This machine took a great deal of time to bring back to proper working order, so much cleaning of parts. This is the first 241-12 I've ever purchased, and I'm surprised by just how many layers it can sew though without hesitation.

I am so grateful to you. I have one of those machines and know nothing about it, but I found the little bell thing from the oil pan and had no idea it even went to that machine. Thank you! PS. I did the table top random machine purchase once. I wanted the table that a 31-15 sat on and the guy offered me the one beside it too and when I looked it was a 78-1. I bought them both. ;)

Remove top and side covers to clean and oil, two screws each. Mine is the 1750 rpm motor cleaned and oiled. Watch my video on cleaning a clutch motor.

I have 241-11 which is the same in my opinion. 18 size needle and 69-90 size thread.

Enjoyed the set if vids on this setup. Do you know what kind of wood your table top is made of? And a guess to weight? These are beautiful. Before the ply and composite era.

we just brought one home and are excited to use it! I found the manual online, but haven't seen where to oil on the topside. Are you able to help with describing that? Also, how did you adjust the speed other than the height of the pedal? We have ours as high as possible, and it's still lightning fast. I heard you say you adjusted it in the motor. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!!!!
