This is my favorite episode so far! And we now know that there’s at least one other person working with/for dispatch Toad. I wonder if we’ll ever see them in future episodes…
The relationship building in these short episodes is always so impressive to me. The amount of truth folks spill to Rabbit never feels unearned even with how brief their interactions are. Folks build openness with Rabbit they same way they would a bartender or hair dresser- it's a fleeting transactional relationship and that somehow leads to us feeling free to pour our guts out. Beautiful.
OMG YES. So many shows try to build trust out oh nowhere and end up with uncomfortable scenes and unbelieveable plots but THIS IS PERFECT. They come clean to Rabbit not out of trust necessarily but out of need or even desperation.
@@flormv9478 exactly! Desperation and the fleeting nature of such a transactional relationship necessitate having to to lay it bare to get the job done.
There's a German show called crime scene cleaner that's remarkably similar and hits a lot of the same notes. I can't vouch for the translation since I've only ever seen the original, but I'd definitely recommend it for anyone who loves this. That show and Rabbit are the only shows that ever made me feel this way, I fucking love it.
Bobby’s attachment style transcends all known categories and reaches a new height of it’s own. It’s truly legendary. That little nincompoop is a borderline psychopath lmao. You can see the manic obsessiveness in his eyes, omg this episode was so fucking funny. I also love how rabbit takes these jobs all confidently then gets super uncomfortable once he’s there.
I think my daughter might be. I've broached the subject w/her, telling her that I absolutely adore & love her exactly as she is & that nothing could ever change that. She said she "may be", but hasn't delved too deeply into the subject beyond that. Any advice for making her feel comfortable? I'm not going to bring it up again bc I don't want to make her feel nervous or uncomfortable....
@@ADetailedHouse just let her be and she’ll talk about when she’s ready. You already made it clear to her that you’re accepting of her identity regardless and that’s all that really matters
This is fantastic, and whoever made the decision to have Rabbits face directly behind the wine glass as it was filled??? Beautiful. Also I love that Rabbit is queer and is incredibly uncomfortable with this guy's plan. Wonderful job yall, I love it all and can't wait for ep 4!
The way every single person in this series is fucked up and none of them have perfect or even like "normal" lives, just like real life, and us seeing all the messy stuff we never see on Instagram or whatever? This series is poetic. Also kinda wondering how one becomes a Rabbit. I could use a little extra cash. 🤔
These are such emotionally rich, three-dimensional characters with messy lives, complex relationships, and demons they’re fighting. This is a quality story. Entertainment that’s ABOUT something. How is this free??? Kyle Prue, you talented SOB.
Listen. I exited out of my 800th watch of The Parent Trap, mid-movie, me in mid-sob because I'm obsessed with this damn show. The transition from me crying my eyes out to laughing my head off was nothing short of deranged. I'm blown away every single episode, sincerely. Everyone on this show is marvelous. I don't even know how to phrase how much I absolutely love Rabbit. "No to the shoes"
Aromantic and asexual rep in the same episode? Every moment packed with tense awkwardness? The bonding between Maxine and Rabbit? I just love it so much.
I am blown away by the talent here. The writing is better than most shows I pay for through streaming services and the quality of the acting and world building is insane. The fact that Kyle is this talented and made something this incredible just to put it out for free is insane. This deserves to be making you millions but thank you for just letting us have it.
ok it’s official i’m in love with this show. the NUANCE!!! literally unheard of. not a single one of these characters is a caricature or stereotype. this is utter brilliance.
The fact I've watched this episode 4 times already is unHoly. Each time the jokes still make me laugh, and I cannot get over the "internalized internalized homophobia" bit. I love getting to learn new stuff about Rabbit, and the deeper hints of personality we've seen, as well as stuff we've already learned about him coming back. The cinematography of this show has been top notch. I want more dispatch Please. I too have a sexuality that is money. Also do we get to meet Toad? I'm making the educated guess that they all have animal names, which raises even more questions. Two weeks is So Long to wait but like, I cannot believe we're getting this masterpiece for free.
Every episode of Rabbit is amazing and blows my mind at how complex each customer is. Like - I can't deny that they're happy. I can't deny this isn't healthy. I can't deny that if the lie is removed, this important person will leave their life forever. And I can't deny it's an addiction. It's refreshing to see a main character like Rabbit. This odd balance of empathy and distance that shows he wants to leave these customers with better straits or mindsets, even if by a hair (hare?), but so reluctant to get close because it's a job, because he struggles with people. Every episode is an excited 20 minute, excited discussion with my husband. We love Rabbit!
SO stoked i've been waiting for this one and its SO worth it!! Also, as an asexual person, i literally had to pause the episode to compose myself when he said that. I love Rabbit so much, and him saying in no uncertain terms that he is asexual made me so so happy.
Crazy how there’s only 1/2 hour or so of content with this character yet I’m already so attached and wanting to see more of him! Also major props to the crew here too everyone is killing it on these episodes!
These keep getting better. The dialogue is so real and effortless... Each episode layers the textures of brokenness and coping in this world. Rabbit's offers a completely disarmed performance as he fills in the lives of these clients. .. And it's just splendid.
Watching this as a person with severe reactions to second hand embarrassment is TORTURE but I would literally rather cut off my hand than stop. I'm obsessed.
There are no words to describe accurately the fanatical way in which I enjoy this series. I rewatch each episode multiple times and dissect everything: camera work, lighting, dialogue, etc. I could write a thesis paper on each episode. And then I’d reread that paper, add more notes, and then rewatch the episode again. As a recovering alcoholic, I resent acquiring this new addiction. (Not actually. I don’t mean that. Please keep posting more. Please MAKE more. Mama needs a fix, and apparently refers to herself in the third person as “mama.”)
I’ve said this on all three episodes but this is really just so good. I know there are better words to describe it but good is so accurate. Because it truly is. The writing, the acting, the direction… It’s all there. Make all the things, Kyle. We need more quality content in the world. This is unique and funny and human and dark and beautiful. As usual, kudos to everyone involved.
This was my favorite episode. Reminded me a bit of Phantom Thread. Just two people bringing out the possessiveness, obsession, and toxicity in one another. They clearly bringing out the worst in each other but they both just want to have some weird hold on each other, and it works for them so maybe it's no one else's place to intervene.
Holy shit, as an Ace its so cool to hear someone like, out right say it in media, its always "hinted at" or "not disclosed" no one actually just says "I'm asexual" so this is fantastic.
Can't get enough, best one so far! Fun fact there's a bar called "The Rabbit Hole" around the corner in the walk to the liquor store scene where Rabbit gets called out for not being gay.
The way these episodes end is so good. "What did you talk about?" "Addictions." The sense of unresolved tension with their situation when you realize that not only does she know and intend to keep up the charade, but Rabbit also will say nothing to interfere with it, either. No attempt to convince her to tell him, no lecturing, no monologue on the potential dangers or ethical concerns of prolonging their mutual charade. He just quietly accepts their situation.
Goodness, that was so good. I've never seen an asexual person represented in anything before. That's actually kind of astounding, come to think of it. I'm not ace, but I think it's really cool that you're giving them representation.
Okay, one- thank you so much for the perfect ace representation! These just keep getting better every episode. I have been consistently blown away by these. Short story, whether written or filmed, is a much more difficult medium than anything long-form. And this one is technically perfect. How many nuanced aspects of what love means and how humans express it did you capture in this 13 minute episode? More than I’ve seen in any other single piece of media, hands down. It managed to be sweet and funny and well-acted and endearing and relatable and push the larger narrative arc all at once. Bravo.
Every time I go to watch the next episode I fully expect this series to have blown up with millions of views and I am genuinely shocked every time that it hasn’t….. yet

My god, these episodes get better and better. This slow peeling away of discovering more about Rabbit is done so well and the reveal of him being ace makes the last two episodes make more sense with how Rabbit acts. And that last line before the credits was amazing. Making you realize that both new characters are playing each other knowing that if the jig is ever revealed both will lose what they want, but us as the audience knows that sooner or later that friendship will crash like a meteor. Definitely can’t wait for more and I hope this wasn’t too long of a comment.

Impressed by how much character complexity is written into these short episodes. It doesn't feel manufactured or indulgent either. Really enjoying these.
I love how addiction is an underlying theme in these episodes. It makes me question our society’s view of addiction as being purely to that of substance abuse.

every time I come back here, I'm always devastated that this show didn't get more views. i love it so much
Maybe season two will do better
YES AMAZING ACE REP!
This whole show is my new favorite thing!
I love how addiction is an underlying theme in these episodes. It makes me question our society’s view of addiction as being purely to that of substance abuse.
Came here for the ace representation! "You're a go-get-him now" had me on the floor!
This was so *great!* Super relate to that "I don't think about it" line
