_”I didn’t mean it…. I didn’t mean what I said to you, I’m sorry- I’m sorry for what I said-”_ god this line always breaks my heart because you know Kara would die before ever purposely hurting Alex
Yeah, that made it even worst. Instead of being told what she did and said. She felt the weight and guilt of it AS SOON as she woke up. I felt so bad for her here. It wasn't Kara's fault that res kryptonite altered her brain and it made her say and do those things. She had no control at all. Maybe it was in her thoughts at times but come on. We've all had bad thoughts but we push them down because and we know that's not who we truly feel and that's what Kara did. But unfortunately that eed kryptonite brought it all out and she had no control to stop it.
@@d.n.c.greatness7735 I think you are so right because this episode reminds of an episode of supernatural when the wizard splits Charlie’s soul and their is a good Charlie where she can’t kill or do bad things or say anything bad then theirs bad Charlie where she does all the bad stuff she pushed deep down.
Alex's reaction killed me. Her little sucking in of breath as she watched Kara tear up, she wasn't hurt by Kara's words nearly as bad as seeing how much pain this put Kara in. I can't get enough of these 2 and how incredible they were for each other
I can't imagine going through what Kara went through in this episode. Having all your bad thoughts come to the surface. Saying things you don't mean. I couldn't live with myself if I said what Kara said.
Uniformbanjo740 Uniformbanjo740 honestly I’ve never heard anything more true about sibling you may love each other but you still argue a lot I’m like that with my brother

To this day, Falling is one of the absolute best episodes in all Supergirl, not just Season 1. Such a great premise with fantastic writing and performances. Melissa showed just how utterly versatile she is throughout this episode. And Kara’s actions had grave consequences that changed everything forever.
@MrDCWood she didn't get the credit she deserved. Odette should have gotten more roles after that. Not many actors can do duel roles within the same environment like that
@@ryanabate1981 totally agree with you. Not many actors can seamlessly alternate between different personalities like Odette and Melissa can. Odette’s performance as Reign was truly great and I’m surprised to hear she hasn’t received more roles.

I cant help imagine that what shes saying resonated with her abuse at the time. This scene was heartbreaking but watching it back, i cant help but crym
Supposedly this scene and another were ones she had a tough time recovering from. These were shot with a bare minimum crew and Chyler only. According to Alley Adler Chyler held Melissa after the scene to help her recover. Melissa did something similar after the scene where Alex admitted to killing Kara's aunt. Supposedly, Chyler was channeling her near divorce that she had gone through after her husband discovered she had cheated on him with a co star from Grey's Anatomy. They never said what Melissa used as fuel but in those major anger scenes like the red tornado fight, I always got the feeling she was channeling the abuse.
Kara cries for what she consciously or not did and makes me cry, her tears breaks my heart for all my bad thoughts and frustrations!! I love you, Melissa you’re such as greatest actress and human.
One thing I love is that Alex had to admit that parts of what she said was true. This moment pushed them to grow and face some of the issues in their relationship.
Imagine if Skylar Storm from Mighty Med would appear in that episode to console Kara about what she did. After all, it reminded her of how she acted in episodes 1 to 6 of season 2 due to the Annihilator corrupting her powers prior to claiming them.
Seeing Kara cry made me cry. My son turned this episode into a story where people still didn't trust SUpergirl so Supergirl goes from her Earth to another Earth and meets heroes of the year January 2014 that help Kara learn about patience and that people will forgive and trust her, so when she gets back to her world and catches the time bandit robbing banks and escaping to other Earth's, she starts to win back trust.
i almost forgot about this scene. My god the "I didn't mean it...i didn't mean what i said to you...I'm sorry for what I've said..." Melissa killed me with her acting and her facial expressions and she did it again and again in other scenes... She is so beautiful at this...
i would love to use this for a Harry Potter side story, something that triggers Harry's most negative emotions to pounce on his broken heart and run a muck
i remember watching this, i freaked and ripped out my hair out when i noticed the Red Kryptonite in the flaming ruble at the start of the episode, if only the media in this episode new about the red stuff and what it does,

It's weird. Last episode Alex was the one crying, and now this episode Kara is the one who has tears in her eyes. I guess the writers really wanted to capture emotion on this show. No offense, but it doesn't make it any easier to watch.

The sad thing is, the first thing out of her mouth was "did I kill anyone?" The red krypto make her blurt out every bad thought she'd had recently, and especially hurt Alex. Although it's even more sad for Alex to admit that some of the things Kara said might actually have been right..
They did the red k similar to Smallville but more intense. Clark had no filter and acted on impulse. This show does that times 3. But at the end of the day what the red k does is cause them to speak their mind, the stuff they try to keep to themselves but deep down wish they could do. Imagine for a hero, they wish they didn't need to pretend that they care all the time, put on that brave smile, or act like they couldn't just get what they want. this is without a doubt one of my favourite episodes of the show (and the most relatable) because i've been there on so many occassions (letting my anger and aggression get the better of me)
Well, one thing's for sure: God is on her side. He forgives her for her misdeeds vis-a-vis that damned Red Kryptonite. BTW, in Superman III, Gus Gorman (portrayed by legendary comedian Richard Pryor) designed a synthetic kryptonite intended to weaken the Man of Steel, but unintentionally turned the latter (Ka-El) into an evil, corrupt being by adding tar, a chemical found in cigarettes, into the kryptonite. It was good thing the morally and righteous Clark Kent defeated the evil Superman and earned back The people's trust. The bar scene where Kara/Supergirl was at was a reminiscent of Superman III.
I honestly witnessed in this scene much humanity in it. Besides being a hero, SuperGirl is also human with feelings, now respectfully normally ,she doesn't behave like that. That Red Kriptanight was what changed her behavior. In real life as humans we all have feelings like anger, bitterness, jealousy etc. Showed the humanness of SuperGirl, wonderfully well done everybody.

I'm just curious, why is Alex so forgiving to Kara after what she said? I know she said that she's her sister and she loves her no matter what, but don't you think she's still a bit hurt by what Kara said while under the influence of Red Kryptonite? I know that Alex isn't the type of person to hold grudges, but still, it takes a lot for someone to show forgiveness to another, and I'm just curious why Alex is so quick to forgive her sister.
I asked the same question. But after some thought I figured maybe it's just like that for some siblings where they have a bond and through every bad situation they somehow pull through. I wouldn't say im the most forgiving person but I've forgave my brother for some things I'd nore anyone would expect to be forgiven for. Just wanted to get that thought out lol
You kind of already said why she's so forgiving. Kara was under the effects of Red Kryptonite. She had absolutely no control over her actions and that's something Alex would understand especially since she knows her sister so well. Plus, Kara's actions when she woke up helped as the first thing she asks is if she killed anyone and once spotting Alex's broken arm, breaks down in tears. Lastly can you imagine going through that, acting and saying every one of your bad thoughts without any control of your actions? I'm willing to bet that Alex understands if she were in the same situation, she'd be just as harsh if not more so since she's probably had plenty of bad thoughts about Kara that she never expressed.
Alex is a big sister and as a big sister, no matter how much it hurts, you understand that sometimes your younger siblings kick you in the gut cause they need to release their anger somewhere "safe".
Scott Decker they have a special sisterly bond because where Kara was adopted late in life they didn’t go through childhood together and so once they finally started bonding they were best friends and Alex was one of Kara’s only friends
