      Richard is kind of a cheap shot, there, though. Before he was in line to inherit England (he had an older brother, Henry the Young King), he was already in line for and effectively was Duke of the Aquitaine in France. He of all English kings (along with William I and Henry II, who were born French, and probably George I) has the most excuse for being un-English.

    • @beeble2003
      @beeble2003 4 роки тому

      @@bobbyfeet2240 More to the point, at that time, Aquitaine was English territory. Saying that Richard was in France makes it sound like he wasn't even in the country that he ruled but, actually he was: he was in England, just in a part of England that's now part of France. Anyway, still very funny and very educational.

    • @CJAlexander
      @CJAlexander 3 роки тому +1

      I actually don't think it's a cheap shot, you guys, nor that Aquitaine also being ruled by the Normans - not "the English", crucially - invalidates the point that Richard was a pretty ridiculous "English" king. He notoriously hated spending time in London because of the weather, and in his entire ten-year reign he's estimated to have spent a total of 6 *months* north of the Channel. What he really preferred was going off to play at war in the Holy Land, but that's another topic... 😁

      When he came back he was much shakeyier and in shows around then you can see him just not have the confidence in his own jokes.

      Red Dragon - Good start but we’ve 🇬🇧 had three kings called Richard so you’ll need to number them for clarity.
      Richard I is the guy why went off to the Crusades and he’s also called Richard the Lionheart.
      Richard II was, I think, murdered by application of a red hot poker in an intimate orifice, I’ll leave that there.
      And Richard III, my hero, was a much maligned and misunderstood monarch and he was recently disinterred from under a car park in Leicester and reburied as befits an English king.
      Now that’s a fascinating story for you.
      Google The King In The Car Park, you’ll love it…..

    The word Virgin used to mean just ANY relatively Young Unwed Woman She could have had Sex before. She would still be a Virgin. This could include the Virgin Mary. I don't know how far into the FUTURE you have to go for the Word Virgin to mean what it does today.
    -
    When you consider that more Women are BORN than Men and that Men have always tended to do more Dangerous Work. Work that can KILL you. You should consider there would ALWAYS be a few "extra" Women lying around in every Village of over 20 or 30 people or more. Always somebody the Men weren't so interested in and that the Women HATED.
    Considering Women have a NEED to Hate other Women. Sure they do the whole "SISTERS" thing and look closely into each others Face centimeters apart trying to establish Dominance. Always a ticking Time Bomb waiting to explode.
    Let's just say... you don't want to piss off Tiffany right around Harvest Season or Planting Season.

    3:47 I know he's joking. Just want to say that first. I know he's joking, but Charles I and John weren't the worst Kings of England in my opinion. Richard the Stupidheart was. Seriously, that man was a fucking idiot who a) didn't give a shit about England and b) was king for ten years and only spent a TOTAL of six months in England. I mean, Charles and John weren't great but at least they TRIED to be in charge. Richard ran off on crusade and only came back because if John took the throne he'd lose all his crusade money. The man would go into battle without armor because he actually thought that he was some kind of storybook hero who couldn't be killed. He repeatedly insulted "allies" who weren't allies very long, acted like he was better than everyone else, and they call him Lionheart. I'd call him Richard the Fool.
