Applause is mostly about the love of performing and giving all you have for the response of it and giving it all for the thing you love to do the most. Which is in her case, the applause because of performing.

She has recorded some oldies with Tony Bennett, the song "Do I Love You" is really stripped down and her vocals are very rich. She has a pretty good version of La Vie en Rose as well. She also helped write the Top Gun Maverick soundtrack with Hans Zimmer and others! She's been through a lot, if you watch her documentary on Netflix or read a bit about her life experiences you might be surprised. Her performance of "Til It Happens To You" was very emotional.

Sure...this came with the bombastic and highly criticized "Artpop" an album completely misunderstood for a lot of critics, but if "Artpop" were a 2022 album the thing would be completely different. 2013 was a year full of silly pop anthems and no sense of artistry at all, except for the self titled Beyonce album. The mainstream wasn´t prepared for her new ideas & concepts.
