My wife and I are in our 60s, we lovingly refer to you as the kids. When you put out a new video we simply say the kids have a new video and we set a time to join you on that journey. We are very thankful for you allowing us into your lives. Yes the kids grow so fast. Being our soul income for many years I missed out on so much so please enjoy them while you can,we can see that you have built a great family structure with them. We love you all. Happy new year!

They are so full of adventure and you have given them an atmosphere where they can see how dreams can come true, team work makes the dream work, and many other valuable lessons without even trying to. If you have inspired so many followers, how much of an impact have you had on your little ones who know that you are working so hard to give them a forever home? I love watching your kids enjoy their lives. Some people take their kids fishing and hiking because they want to give them a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of city life. I am remembering your build and there was one day that Kaimani was helping taking the protective covering off the windows and Jeremy helped him off the ladder and Kaimani slumped into dad's arms. I don't know if you knew that would be the last time for dad holding his boy like that. I remember thinking how bittersweet that moment was and it touched me. He has grown so much this year that yeah that was probably the last time. Now is the time for other kinds of memories to be made. For me the most cherished dad memories were hunting, fishing, working on house projects and doing mechanics, it really is when one door closes another opens. I am looking forward to seeing you making those kinds of memories with your kids.

Where I live in Minnesota it's common to have actual Temps of negative 35. I always waited as long as possible to put winter coats on my horses. The most important thing was to provide them with shelter out of the wind, give them lots of hay, cut back or eliminate grain and make sure they have access to heated water.

Happy New Year to you all. You’re all so inspiring. You remind me so much of my husband and I when we were your age. So ambitious and full of dreams. Now we’re about to downsize from 50 acres to a suburban lot. Hoping to sell our farm in northern Illinois at the Wisconsin border and retire in Florida’s sunny state. So at 66 and husband at 76 we’ll be starting a new home build again. It’ll be our 3rd home build. So much to do.
Thanks for sitting down and answering the question on everyone's mind : what's next! Love all the ideas you have and it will be fun watching you achieve your goals. Yes for the kid's getting involved. It will be a skill for their future, even if they choose other paths in life, they will be able to fix things. You should really attach that garage. I think you might regret it if you don't. Especially in bad weather. Unloading groceries, etc in bad weather sucks. My last house had a detached garage and it was such a pain.
I honestly don't know what I would do without being able to settle down, and come along with you gorgeous people on a weekly basis - and take those moments to truly stop...be still... and bask in the wholesomeness, love, industry, and sheer sanity of your world, when the rest of the world out there has me cowering in avalanches of bad news, disasters, crime, and hatred. Truly you keep me sane, Jeremy & Melissa!.. you give me hope.. you give me the ability to believe there IS a good world still out there, and that if I can only take a deep breath and go outside and trust, I too can find pockets of serenity, and success in navigating what has kept me cowering behind my job up until now, and in bunkering down inside, since I stopped working 6 months ago. You say to us that we cannot imagine how much you love and appreciate us for being on this journey with you - but in truth we are the blessed ones and I reckon there's not a single person among us - your subscribers, who doesn't wholeheartely adore you for being such lovely lovely people and for sharing your lives with us in this intimate and so incredibly warm and inviting a way.. We left Houston, TX for Bismarck, ND for Christmas. We arrived to -25 F and wind chill of -44 F. The absolute coldest I have ever been. Stay warm and have a happy and Blessed New Year !!

One of the reasons why I follow your channel is that you and your family exemplify what is is to be good caring people without pushing any overt religious aspects of that. You don't push your religion (I have no idea what it is) down viewers' throats, but your lives are the epitome of what good people should strive for. If more You Tubers would spend more time doing for others instead of inviting people to their church services, the world would be a better place. The world needs more good examples and less missionaries.

Yes, I know that not everything is perfect in anybody's world, but the love that everybody in your family shows for each other, and the kindness that you all show to others, is an inspiration to many who follow you. We lost one of our calves during the cold snap. Although he managed to deal with the two coldest night, so that was kind of unexpected.
Having a stocked pond would be awesome. The pond will freeze even if it’s deep. Blue Lake is 50 feet deep and freezes pretty hard if we aren’t running aerators. So don’t be too afraid of depth in regards to ice skating. Look forward to following the rest of your projects.

We love this episode! Our children aren't allowed to play Alexa. This came from our local school system, where the Administration felt, "the process of learning" comes from actually doing the job. I'm sure with the various chores on our rural farm, that Alexa would be an alternative in the future. We could listen to Alexa while milking the cows, churning the butter fat, etc.. Mostly, as participants of our local Baptist Church, our Minister everyday reminds us to be thankful for those things we take for granted, like the Public Library which is only a few short miles from our home.
It's great to see you both enjoying grape juice on the couch together and pray your animals make it thru to cold temps..! It was -22F here this morning and we ran out of wood for the stove. God Bless!

This a great list to look forward to. The Pond would do if you put an aerator to keep it from freezing for the ducks and predators always looking for a meal. Happy New Year for all the good things that are coming our way.
I think your plans and wishes for 2023 make a lot of sense. As for the low priority pond, talk to Aquascape for what they call a recreation pond. They have collaborated with many UA-cam channels and sometimes do group builds like they did for Kamp Kenan and Dr. Pol. Who knows what might be possible. You do a lot for other people. Maybe something can be done for you and your family. Happy New Year and a blessed 2023!
