If you have never been to an event where cars are powerful enough to go 200+ in an eighth, videos do not do it justice. Its something that needs to be seen, smelled, felt and experienced to truly appreciate the sport.
Went to my first drag strip a few days ago, and one of the cars really stood out in both speed and sound. Apparently it was about 800hp. I thought it was at least 1200. I cannot imagine what's it's like to see one of these 5000hp monsters go down the track.
The highest level of drag racing is truly insane. The two top classes are Top Fuel and Funny Car. Both classes make (depending on atmospheric conditions, track conditions, tune, and setup) 9500-12000 horsepower in an eight-cylinder Nitromethane and Methanol fueled engine. You can feel the ground shake underneath you from a quarter of mile away in the parking lot when they launch, and at the actual race in the stands the closest approximation I could possibly give as to how it feels is that it's like Andre the Giant grabbed you by the shoulders and shook the everloving shit out of you as fast and hard as he could for a good four seconds. They had to shorten the race distance from 1,320ft to 1,000ft several years ago due to safety concerns - still a controversial decision but one I ultimately understand and support - and they're already running the same speed even in that shorter distance. In perfect conditions they could in theory exceed 375-400mph in a proper true full quarter. Drag racing is a marvel of engineering and ingenuity at any level of the sport but at the highest level they are without exception brushing up against and setting new limits for what's possible at a physical and scientific level. It's absolutely not for anyone but anyone can enjoy it if they put the time in to learn about it. Like all racing - every car, class, and type of the sport at all levels should be respected. There's a lot of top circuit racers that wouldn't even think about getting into a Funny Car or Top Fuel class drag car - and a lot of drag guys that wouldn't even consider drifting or circuit racing at the highest respective levels of either sport. All of them are amazing in their own way.

Another fun drag racing event to check out is the halltech import vs domestic shoot out in Maryland International Raceway. They always have it the first full weekend of November. Many cars set records and they run the full 1/4 mile. It's a great time!
The first time i witness a top fuel dragster, it changed my perspective on drag racing. You can literally feel the shockwaves the car puts out. Its an amazing feeling and then seeing how how they can take the engine apart and reasemble it in less than 1 hour its just crazy.
I grew up with this sport and I even have a drag radial car myself. I'll admit though that you guys are the last people I expected to make a video on this, but the first people I would have chosen. Keep it golden and hopefully I'll see you guys at a race one day.
That says a lot about the quality of these guys. Even if they are not really into drag racing, its the first team that we think of when we think of making a video of it. Amazing quality and production G&G. One of the best car channels in all UA-cam for sure!
Anyone who finds drag racing boring has only ever driven a slow car or raced from their keyboard. I completely agree that driving a 200hp 4 door sedan down the 1/4 mile is boring. Once you double or triple those numbers, it becomes a hell of a rush.
People will trash things they don’t understand or have yet to experience. I like the rush from getting pulled back in my seat, but love even more the feeling of going around bends and corners. Whatever floats our boats :)
I wasn't ever a fan of drag racing until i started watching roadkill, after you start actually looking into it the heritage, engineering, and love that guys throw into it is just insane, definitely deserves everyone's respect
There is something about your content and how it is deliver that sets it apart. There are crazy amounts of motorsports out there and you present things that I am not interested in and yet still grabs my attention. Great job and keep on producing.
Isaiah Silva-Barros accurate. Pro mod drag racers actually have to retire after a few years or at least take a brake as the gforces from pulling the chute at 200mph+ detaches their Cornea
One of the biggest thrills in my life was going to the Gator Nationals with my wife and watching 2 Top Fuel Dragsters cross the finish line side by side and at full song :-) The only thing that came close was watching the Shuttle take off, or a formation of Tomcats flying overhead in full afterburner ;-) Great video !!! :-)

If you aren't convinced of how cool drag racing really is, I beg you to go to a NHRA event and watch TOP FUEL anything (Funny Car, Top Fuel, Top Fuel Harley) and not be impressed by the 11,000 hp they make and the 331mph they hit in 1000 feet. Think about the g-forces when the car is accelerating
Antti Synkkanen I think they said it was around 3.5 g's!
Also, a lot of these cars produce more g-forces when slowing down and stopping than they do accelerating.

Your videos are very professional and really good! Im not even a "car guy" but you made me really start getting in the culture and its made kinda fun! This whole car culture is kinda shaky to get into what with all the different opinions and younger kids that think they know it all but so far ive met some really cool older people that arnt so hostile to new comers like me! Keep up the great work and you earned yourself a new sub :)
this movie is awesome guys, good luck with next one
Wow man great production.
Drag racing to me is certainly more exciting than watching tennis or golf.
I never cared about drag racing until one Friday night me and my brother decided to go to our local drag strip, that was when I realized how much it took just to get a good launch. The rush when racing was intoxicating even in my car with only 140KW(193hp).
Drag racing is a numbers game, and it's the best numbers game out there.
I can't urge enough if anyone has interest in this sport to go see a Top Fuel event near you, the sight, smell and sound of 10,000 hp is intoxicating.
These videos are meant to be watch on the big screen
great content as always! Keep up the awesome work!
darn these rides are beautiful..
Not my cup of tea but glad you guys have given us some insight and prbly spent way more hours at on of these tracks than most would prefer to. Like the scientific approach as well 👌🏽
Love your vids, keep em rollin...
Its life changing. I never was a real fan until going to Topeka Heartland Park a month ago and getting to see this first hand and be close to the cars in the pits. Its a science and these are professionals!
Man that's some great professional video.
loved the vid! Wish it was longer.
Great video, wish it was longer!
Dat tyre deformation in slow mo tho~
so #satisfying 😍
im a guy from sweden and grow up dragracring. Iv ben in the drag pit sins i was only 1 year old. and today im 22 and drifting in a bmw on events like gatebil and daily streed abuse. i havet driven real drag cars in years and u will have a ton of fun and adrenalin drifting and track racing. but the adrenalin and the shock the kick of a dragrace when the car hucks up and u go flying down the strip is un explainabal. u will never get that feeling from any thing els and u will miss that feeling every day 4 ever. dragracing may lock boring and easy. but its tuff as nails and any one o says any thing els has never been there on the startingline. and will never know.
Awesome videos, just spectacular
I didnt see 1 street outlaw car here...
