I have done this hundreds of times never had problems with moisture. As long as you pull good vacuum i see no need to replace dryer. My old boss did not feel the same he always wanted drier changed. And i have done same with pressure switch i like your style. This is real world refrigeration service.

I thought it interesting how clearly the other unit was visible through the condenser coil of the first one. If that pressure control was manufacturer supplied, I'm surprised they didn't put a grommet where the capillary tube went through.

Crazy watching you mess with the low pressure control Rick. We’re a bit north of you and have had to install fan cycle controls on our freezers. We’ve done this for 3-4 years now cuz the flooded head control, winter temperatures, and 404 don’t like each other….prevents short cycling with the lower ambients. And the anti short cycle always gets me too. I keep a jumper wire in my bag until I get the units dialed in. Dang frustrating wondering why you’re not running when you know you should. Great video!
chlorinated brake parts cleaner for the wasps. blast them from a distance, torch works fine if you can get close to them with stirring the pot. other fuel/oil products will likely work well. with delayed reaction.

There is usually a locking plate on the adjustment screws on a KP1 (also KP17). Remember to put them back on. Othervise you risk that your pressostat can go out of adjustment.
@@HVACRSurvival Every time i change out a pressure switch, i take the old locking plate and screws with me. For back-up. They are important, because it's usually the "diff" that goes out of adjustment. and you risking that you system wil run i vacuum before it stops the compressor. And thats a really bad situation with leaky coils.

Good job Rick. I’ve been binging you videos lately. When pumping down systems and checking with a torch do you prefer receiver to be 3/4 full? I noticed in this video you were fine with about 1/2
1/2-3/4 is usually fine. The best thing I’ve done is charge to a full sight glass then add 15% more than the total you installed to reach a full sight glass.
I was wondering about that nice vibrating pump on the top of the ladder. I think I would have wrapped a length of wire or some tie wraps around it to keep it from sliding off. I'd be hesitant of using bungies for that since they can stretch, and could still let it slide off the step.
It wasn't my first choice of strap but I didn't want to get my other ladder off the truck. I think I bumped it closer to the edge when I was reaching for something then it fell shortly after I got off the ladder.
wide flat aluminum tubes, with zigzag fins makes it easy to clean and less likely to plug. unlike some of the past equipment, where they use copper tubing (not the issue) with aluminum fins, which have splayed center fins that pug up wildly and are near impossible to clean. what they should have done? increase the size of condenser coils, vs. trying to make them more efficient at heat transfer. so pretty much what they're doing now days, LARGER is better, aka. more surface area is always better for heat transfer. I'm tired of garbage products and getting the "mine shaft", change is inevitable and major change is guaranteed the more stupendous they make things.

I use silicone to secure capillary lines. Works pretty good taking vibration out

Digital gauges refresh the pressures a bit on the slow side so it can be hard to tell what pressure your system is actually cutting in and out at.
Benjamin is correct, the refresh rate on digital isn't quick enough.
There is usually a locking plate on the adjustment screws on a KP1 (also KP17). Remember to put them back on. Othervise you risk that your pressostat can go out of adjustment.
It had it, it's interesting Ranco doesn't require the plate, I usually try to replace it but sometimes you lose the tiny screw🤦🏻

That's a good point. 👍👍We normally use ranco, the OEM equipment is the only way I see Danfoss on our systems.

No backup on a saddle valve is cringy as fuck
I was using a 6" set of pliers and it was a thick piece of brass into the copper. If it's tiny shit I will use a backup wrench.
Tie your vacuum pump with a ratchet band to secure it to the ladder helps prevent a Jeronimo 🪂
Lesson learned. That pissed me off, luckily it didn't break my equipment.
