  • This short video offers a brief description of the new craze of of early radio in the early 1920’s. it gives a look into the contributions of Arthur Atwater Kent and his giant radio factory in Philadelphia. It shows how radio “changed the world” by connecting folks in isolated locations to the world at large through radio. Finally, a demonstration is presented of one of the most popular Atwater Kent Radios, the “three dialer” Model AK-20 C.

    I'm sure glad I hung onto mine. I received it as a gift from another ham back in the early 90's. I don't have a power supply or speaker for it, but the tubes all light as I connected the filament lines to a transformer at least. 73 from Windsor On.

    Nice video enjoyed watching. I listen to my 1920’s radios daily. My Grebe CR-8 & my SE-AR-DE , AD-2 receive from 160 meters to 1000 meters. 73’s KA1VMW.
