He kinda caused the crash as he wasn’t slowing down approaching those cars and the guy behind was probably driving to the bikers speed and then the biker suddenly swerved round the car cause the guy behind the slam brakes.

If you watch the video closely you'll see the red hatch in front of the bike rider he was going a bit quick and moved into the left lane (over a solid line) rather than stopping, cutting off the white car in the process, the bike rider moved over into the left lane safely and legally (once the solid line had ended), the car behind the bike (red SUV) managed to stop in time, the car behind the red SUV (blue 4WD cab) obviously wasn't paying attention and run into the back of the red SUV, how you interpret that to be the biker causing the crash is beyond me.

You’re not supposed to only watch the taillights of the vehicle in front. You’re supposed to be watching the traffic ahead of them as well!
You'll be fine mate. Keep your distance from the car in front of you, pay attention to cars further ahead of you and don't do anything suddenly. The more experience you get, the more confident you'll become.
If you have doubts and fears then you should better stick to public transports. But even if you are a well experienced driver then it is highly likely that you'll end up in some stupid accident/incident while driving even if its not your own fault. I reckon you should sit next to an experienced driver(and a manual driver) and go for a long drive and see how the person drivers the car, learn how to calculate distance and braking. All the best.

Actually rolling after high velocity impacts is not that bad, as it absorbs a lot of energy. If everybody was wearing their seatbelts properly and the airbags (especially the window airbags) deployed correctly, there's a chance everybody made it out alive... 0:40 & 3:41 Considering how many times we see incidents like this on DCOA (which in reality would mean it would happen at a higher % for people without Dash Cams or not even submitted), when is it going to be law that all trucks be mandated to have a camera mounted to watch these "blind spots" ? I know this is a sensitive topic, but with technology the way it is and the amount of available good camera systems available, all trucks should have something attached so they can even briefly refer to it before changing lanes. Even a potato quality camera would indicate that a vehicle was there.
Yep, that or some sort of sensor that can indicate a car is too close for you to slip in between traffic, measuring up too 0.8 meters ahead is when it would make a somewhat loud click or flash at you from the dashboard, which is quite close but it would certainly help. Heck the camera solution could be built into the mirrors of the truck & pretty much be two 30 fps 480p cams & screen in the center console hooked up too start when the ignition is set too on or purchasable separately with two cameras on the inside of the door windows like most dashcams, only that it records & displays in real time on the dash.
The one at 3:41 was just a major fuck up by the driver where cameras woudln't help. The car was well and truly in front of the truck the whole time. Clearly the truck was too focused on his mirror and forgot about the car in front that just disappeared.

Strangely enough, in Australia it’s only a “hit and run” or “leaving the scene of a crash” if there’s injuries. A minor fender bender with no serious injuries would only result in an infringement for “failure to exchange details”. It’s a stupid legislation because when it’s only a criminal offence if there’s significant injuries, it doesn’t deter people from driving off. If they made it a criminal offence regardless of injuries, maybe people wouldn’t be so quick to just drive off. Or even if they just made the penalties for “failure to exchange details” the same as mid-range drink driving, it would significantly reduce the number of drive offs.

Reminds of the title of the TV quiz-show 'Have you been paying attention?', but I'm certain many of these are just 'driving it like you stole it!' simply because they have!
0:40 & 3:41 Considering how many times we see incidents like this on DCOA (which in reality would mean it would happen at a higher % for people without Dash Cams or not even submitted), when is it going to be law that all trucks be mandated to have a camera mounted to watch these "blind spots" ?
I know this is a sensitive topic, but with technology the way it is and the amount of available good camera systems available, all trucks should have something attached so they can even briefly refer to it before changing lanes. Even a potato quality camera would indicate that a vehicle was there.

Blind spot indicators, not cameras, technology has been on cars for a decade.
Yep, that or some sort of sensor that can indicate a car is too close for you to slip in between traffic, measuring up too 0.8 meters ahead is when it would make a somewhat loud click or flash at you from the dashboard, which is quite close but it would certainly help.
Heck the camera solution could be built into the mirrors of the truck & pretty much be two 30 fps 480p cams & screen in the center console hooked up too start when the ignition is set too on or purchasable separately with two cameras on the inside of the door windows like most dashcams, only that it records & displays in real time on the dash.
Better yet, not build trucks with such big blind spots. Combine that with a camera and that would be the end of all of these kinds of accidents.
The one at 3:41 was just a major fuck up by the driver where cameras woudln't help. The car was well and truly in front of the truck the whole time.
Clearly the truck was too focused on his mirror and forgot about the car in front that just disappeared.

in the 20+ years of me driving a sedan and not getting hit by a truck is 100% down to a) not sitting in a potential blind spot and b) not merging into their braking distance. This should be part of the many things 'you're' thinking about when driving any vehicle be it a scooter or a road train.
Common sense, stay alert, get off ya phone, drive sober, stay under the speed limit, drive to the conditions.

2:37 That is called a hit and run/drive away. That merc is leaving the scene of the crash which is against the law. He even speeding. That person must be put in jail for a good while because he is a danger to the public. Just my opinion.

Strangely enough, in Australia it’s only a “hit and run” or “leaving the scene of a crash” if there’s injuries. A minor fender bender with no serious injuries would only result in an infringement for “failure to exchange details”. It’s a stupid legislation because when it’s only a criminal offence if there’s significant injuries, it doesn’t deter people from driving off. If they made it a criminal offence regardless of injuries, maybe people wouldn’t be so quick to just drive off. Or even if they just made the penalties for “failure to exchange details” the same as mid-range drink driving, it would significantly reduce the number of drive offs.

Cop stopped for a traffic cone/ debris that fell off the back of a car, was on the news. so the 2 cars that rear ended him are in crap for failure to keep safe distance.

In the extended dashcam clip the driver said there was a "witches' hat" (traffic cone) laying in the lane.
It looked to me the cop didn't turn on his lights until it was hit.
