That's what I love about our German rap culture, there are a lot of great artists writing really meaningful lyrics. I know there are a lot of English speaking artists with similar ideas out there, but for me personally, they can be really tough to understand in the context of their music. The Co-Artist in "Fame", RAF Camora, is actually currently one of the most successful rappers in Germany. He is from Austria and aside from a really fascinating life-story, he makes great music. He was formerly known as RAF 3.0 and published several amazing tracks with this name. My favorites and also the most famous tracks are probably "Dumm & Glücklich" and "Träumer". Kontra K is also a very well known artist here in Germany. His style evolved a long way but it never felt like he was losing his origins. That's also the topic of "Fame". It's about how money and fame change everything but that none of them could ever replace real friendship. To properly understand this its worth mentioning that loyalty is a really important theme in a lot of Kontra Ks songs. Probably the most recent song where he reacts to criticism of how he developed is "Motten" from his new album "Erde & Knochen" (really worth listening)

You should really listen to some songs from RAF Camora. He is by far the best, most creative and former underrated musican from the German speaking area. By the way he produced some of the best songs ever. He also made two albums as RAF 3.0 which were very different to his first releases and somehow divided his fans. So just start with the song "Winner" and then "Fallen" (as RAF 3.0). Maybe also "Tumor" but the video is really disturbing. "Träumer" is a really beautiful made song about a break up. And this are only song till 2013. In 2016 he started to make music with Bonez MC. And that was the point he got the success and appreciation he deserves with songs like "So lala", "Geschichte feat. Bonez", "Dämonen", "Alles probiert". Unfortunatly there are only few videos from his early releases. But, as a newcomer you dont get that much money for videos. Plus if everyone hates on your music and tells you to stop rap an only produce, it is even harder. Despite everything, he has done everything right and was rewarded with the well deserved success. I can start listening to his first release in 2008 (Therapie vor dem Album) and listen every CD till his last album (Anthrazit) and the moment i finish start all over again, just to bridge the gap till "Palmen aus Plastik 2" will be released. All in all, worth listining to!!!

Took me a while to realise this but the hook is written in the perspective of the rappers' non famous friends. "I hope you never get famous, because only then will you realise what's actually missing. You'll be gone never to be seen again. Your life will be told to us through pictures." His friends hope he won't be famous because then they'll never see him again and only get to see what he's doing through Instagram or other social media, instead of meeting up and talking about it. Probably really obvious but took me a while to get that.
