This is why i love youtube
Best TV station ever
Mike's dance moves
My son follows in his funky footsteps
He ditched the axl rose dance real quick. Then he ditched the Anthony kedis moves. Then he stopped the moves.
Fascinating. The band was technically still supporting the 2nd album as Real Thing wasnt out yet. The crowd was hearing half the songs for the first time. No one had any clue how huge these songs were to become.
Makes me think of how I saw Mr. Bungle in 1999 with no opening band and like 50 people in the place. I knew it was the lead singer of Faith no More but in my 18 year old mind I figured he was washed up by that point 🤣
You can see that at this point in his life/career, Mike really needed a physically big stage when performing. His energy seems seriously confined, & he's bouncing back & forth like a caged tiger.
Within the coming year on tour with Soundgarden, he'd learn a lot from Chris Cornell about how to handle those smaller venues.
Best band who's walked planet Earth ever and Patton's voice was and still is powerful
tHANK GOD FOR FAITH NO MORE
What an amazing time in music this was.
FNM, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Janes Addiction,
And there's one massive injustice, these bands are continually
snubbed by the rock an roll hall of fame, how is this possible.
I love hearing Mike sing Chuck's stuff.. especially this era, when he's still trying to sing well live.
Yeah latter on in some songs he was too exited and screaming all the time
well said, Patton's one of my favorite all time artists but it does get frustrating that in a lot of performances he purposely doesn't try to sing it normally. its almost like he's so naturally talented that he doesn't wanna show off or somethin
@@joshgorsky5224 I think he's just bored of singing them in the same style all the time, instead throwing in noise
@@yetanotheruser1989 11 months later and I agree
@@yetanotheruser1989 Pretty contemptuous towards audience if you ask me, he got well paid to sing the same songs.
This might be the most straightforward I've ever heard Patton do these songs. It's especially noticeable in The Real Thing and From Out Of Nowhere. He hits all the notes and is in great voice!
i know im randomly asking but does any of you know a trick to log back into an instagram account?
I was stupid lost the password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me
@Graham Kameron I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm.
Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Graham Kameron it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much, you really help me out :D
@Manuel Eliseo happy to help :D
@@manueleliseo4233 Ele só acertou todas as notas para garantir o emprego.
When a person has so much ENERGY they can barely contain it. Oh, and the rest of the band is fucking amazing, too. Drummer Mike has maintained all these years, too. LOVED this!
For me the best band of all Times
First time I've ever seen this. Fucking GOLD 🤘🤘🤘
Patton looks like he’s in teenage pop punk band
Anything with Jim Martin is gold.
I met them briefly at a gas station in the middle of nowhere (Baker CA) around this time. I had no clue who they were but looking like they did and all of them getting out of the same bus I figured they were a band. At some point not too long after this I happened to see them on MTV. Wish I would have asked them where they were playing.
Always loved their cover of War Pigs!
Mike is a pure energy
Some dude in the crowd yelling in a nasty way, "Let's see if he'll make it" as the new singer before "We Care A lot" ...hah! Dude was so wrong.
It's interesting to see how Patton's posture from the very beginning was almost too manic for the band. He refers to "singing for this band," as though he stands outside of it. His inclinations were always more avant-garde, and you can tell Jim's sensibility is not long for FNM under Patton.
And yet Jim wanted Patton in the band. It's funny how that works. Jim was and is a metal guy! All these guys meshed into an amazing sound though. As far as manic.. Chuck Mosley was pretty out there.
This lineup was “lightning in a bottle” for just one album. Without Jim’s metal guitar parts and Patton’s melodic singing, they lost it and became too avant-garde.
gould and bottum are the principal fnm writers, patton add ideas but is not just him, the rest of the band were in a diferent sensibility.
@@zeitok8 Still think Bordin is what gives them that unique sound. Gould as well!
@@ricwood7976 you didn't like Angel Dust?
Mike elevated the band way more than Courtney Love. I saw them when We Care A lot was released. Then again when they did this tour. Then again in the early 90's for Angel Dust. Great band over the year's.
So glad this exists. Thank you to whoever shot this.
My favorite era of FNM I wish they still sounded like this, I liked Angel Dust as well but this era has my heart long live 1989/1990 FNM
if only his vocals werent so nasally. ruined the whole album. i cant stand the album version. but the 2009 and forward versions of the real thing songs with mikes real voice are so much better
@@wm1573I love the nasal vocals I wish he still did them
@@kingkrysen you're one of the two people who wishes that lol
@@wm1573 nope several other people have wished that as well
This was probably the best era for Mike Patton. He’s acting like Barney Greenway up there!
Holy shit...1989
Falling to Pieces is amazing
nothing touches this
Very cool, thanks for posting. I saw so many great shows at Bogarts back in the day. For a kinda crappy club, basically in a strip mall, they booked great bands, local and touring. Played some fun gigs and saw a bunch of bands there while they were still working their way up, and "established acts" as well. Seeing this brought back some cool memories. Peace.
Yeah but things are so much better now. We got rid of this place, the Foothill cafe, the Lava Lounge, Club 367, and all those lame assed bars. They were disturbing the neighbors too much anyway. And thank god we live here in California where trying to be progressive has morphed so far beyond any stage of awareness ore reason that we have decided to allow women to dictate the levels of social norms and mores and their incessant preoccupation with equality have raised an entire generation of pussies that arent even sure whether or not they have one or want one and have no backbone or original thought to speak of in a state where the definition of what is cool went from being the one most original and edgy to the one most offended and oppressed and or automatically if you are black such that now white kids wouldnt be caught dead listening to any music like this because it hasnt been given black approval. But it is so much better now because instead of all of those annoying festivals that long beach used to have like the beach fest, chili cook off, jazz fest, blues fest, and so many more with all of those bands just had simply too many different types of music to digest in one place having only cold beer to do it with. I like things so much better now that all of the music we get to hear is rap or born from it because honestly its just too big a decision to make if i have to try to decide if the music im hearing nowadays is cool and there is not a black dude around so i can find out. So stressfull being a white dude in california nowadays. Thank god i dont have to think anymore. This was a cool time but i just dont think i could stomach life having to make all of those decisions on my own with no black help.
FNM playing Black sabbath made my night!
31 years ago. I liked these guys when I heard them. But it wasn't until recently that I got SCHOOLED about FNM.
Yup, class has been in session for me the past two years. I completely fell in love with this band.
Wow. Being a dumbass is expensive as fuck. I feel you. Ive been there.
Man, this show is great. I love how tame the crowd is, like they're experiencing them for the first time. Someone should remaster this.🔥
First time ever hearing any if these live versions if songs,,, especially the real thing,,,iv saw every published performance to the most recent!!! The greatest song you have never heard!!! I love watching tbe download festival performance 2010 i think,,20 plus yrs after the first time!!
CLASSIC! LONG LIVE FnM!
30:38 Jim's like "I wanna sing too!"
31:12 and then Roddy
Woodpecker made the hairs on my airs stand UP baby!
Not sure why Mike Patton didn't do a workout video. All we do is keep up with him for 90 minutes and BAM, a cardio workout.
I did do his pogo jump down the a hallway back in high school emulating falling to pieces .. then flopped like the fish after seeing the mtv awards of 90. Ahhh the memories!
Ha, nice!
When i saw them in 92 they all came out and did synchronized cardio on stage for 5 minutes before playing
Amazing I saw them one year later and they were massive compared to this. The arc of a band
That fucking snare work and perfect consistency
Mike looks like a wholesome Axel Rose in this performance...an alternate universe? I have faith that Faith No is indeed a glorious parallel universe of its own. We were the lucky ones who found the portal!
any live FNM performance with Jim Martin (by far FNM's best guitarist--only guitarist imo--and part of the band's heart) is gold. thank you for the upload.
Wow, this is rad!
Ainda não imaginavam a dimensão e o que esse álbum se tornou para história da música. Um clássico... I Love Faith no More.
I saw some cool shows back in the day at Bogart’s - a 300 capacity club which opened in 1987 and closed in 1993. I didn’t know FNM until “Epic” dropped 1-19-90. Nirvana played there 2-16-20 promoting “Bleach”. Didn’t know them until “…Teen Spirit” hit 9-10-91. STP played there 10-10-92 right after “Core” dropped. Didn’t know them until 3-15-93, when “Sex Type Thing” dropped. Damn!
Sick moves
Wow😳 never seen this, this is incredible
The best live version of epic I heard yet...too bad they cut the piano
Why did they cut out the piano part, I wonder?
OMG how Show!!! I have been see FNM in the 90s 5 times but nothing like this!!it us better here than on the album ❤
Wow, Mike's uncle at a wedding disco was something else!
AmAzING
Holy Shit bits! If only I had a time machine. This would be my first stop!
I think my favorite song on here is falling o pieces!
first time seeing this
best i’ve seen mike doing chucks songs❤
Adam Clayton has left the building
fuck yes!!!
This was before the album came out, and they're still signing the lyrics to the demo of Underwater Love

Epic, was as Epic as always.
The fact:In this show they dont know jet..then few mouts and this band landing in the top of the world! ❤❤❤
Increíble voz de Mike Patton ❤
fucking Adam Claton watching FNM...perfect..1989..great
🖤🖤love this thank you🖤🖤
Paton didn't need a microphone in the same way Led Zep didn't need to mike up Bonzo, you'd be able to hear them from space, hahaha. Man, that Paton has some strong pipes on him.
So dope`
Mike & Jim seemed to hold a substantial bond here, unfortunately it didn't last long
I read that Jim is the one who brought Mike into the band.
Theyre performing. These dudes never liked each other. Jim was a straight up old school 70s style metal head. I dont think he ever liked this rap rock nonsense they were doing with mike. And mike was a very uptempo wacky dude, where jim was much more toned down. Just 2 totally different people that didny click with each other. Jim almost never looked at mike this entire show bc i think he thought all mikes rapping and dancing were so silly.
@@trenken Jim said The Real Thing was was the perfect album for the band. He started having issues during the recording of Angel Dust however.
@@shcottgoggle for the band. Exactly. This rap rock stuff still wasnt what he wanted to be doing. He didnt like mike pattons style at all, and the band bending to trends of the time. He wanted to be more like metallica. He had issues with the band as soon as mike joined. He was barely involved in angel dust. He wrote almost none of it. Showed up just to record parts that were handed him. He checked out long before that album.
Angel dust isnt really that different from real thing. And jim still called it fag rock. I think he was super done with the rapping, mikes 80 different ways of singing, and i dont think stuff like small victory sat well with him.
@@trenken you are literally making up all these assumptions as you go. Say "in my opinion this and that" instead of writing your fan fiction that anybody with a little knowledge and understanding of the band knows is not true
Ya know how some acts do the "10th or 20th or 25th Anniversary of this Album Tour"? I want FNM to do a 30th-35th anniversary tour of this video, where they recreate the entire experience. Jim Martin invited, if he'd like to attend.
Buenisimo
Demais ! Amazing !
The morning after 😣
I didnt know Anthony Keidis could sing this well
Amazing footage, and a great performance, thank you. I'm a FNM fan but not a stan... it's nice to hear Mike taking the songs seriously and trying to give a good performance. I dunno whether he started sabotaging the vocals on purpose later on, or just couldnt deliver the same performance (I suspect the former, to be "avant garde") but this is awesome.
I only wished, they have got internet these days
Puffy was and is amazing.
Wow, I had no idea Cr1TiKaL was once in Faith No More, that's so cool.

great i never hear a see mike patton sing the introduce yourself album only we care a lot song
Anthony Kiedis was awesome in FNM.
Me encanta su corte de cabello igualito al mío ❤❤❤ 😂
Interesting how Patton makes an effort to sing in his early FNM days instead of just screaming through the set later.
Kiedis played wit FNM? NO WAY!
GRAN APORTE.
Faak! Great footage
He’s hot AF in the most ridiculous way. Even at 58:15

2033 baby!!
Haven't watched all of this yet. Why the comments about Adam Clayton ? What point can you see him?
Is there any 1989 footage where Roddy plays the coda on Epic? Only '90 footage, not even footage from October has it (album was released on June).
Caralho que show foda!
Паттон безумец и просто гений. Респект и уважуха из России, ЛНР.
Is this available to purchase?
Yeah, just recently ordered from Rock Concert DVDs.
Isn't this the first show with Patton ever?
+sprdvx Possibly the first recorded show he's done. An interview i read, it said his first show was in San Fran in '88... and something about being handed a note from his first "groupie" only, in the note he was loathed and described as "Macho and sexist"....and to bring back Chuck. HAHAH!
@@kanvasp That is most likely the I-Beam November 4 1988. Thats the earliest show i know of. This Bogarts show is several months later, but possibly the first Recorded show he did. The entire year of 89 imo, is the most pure Patton era. At that point, they were still proud of the music. By early 1990, Mike is mocking most of the songs. This Bogarts show and most others from 89 are excellent.
@@brian13451 I couldn't agree more. You seem to understand quite a lot of those FNM different "eras" in early Patton years. Way to go, sir! 🤘🏼
@@Cancro06 Thanks Bro. Obviously its all relative opinion. Ive studied every era thru the 90s thoroughly. I understand how he got sick of the album, from the company making them tour nonstop. But thats not the fans fault.
What song is he singing at 12:20 ?
Something by Sade
1.notice.of.this.show.is.how.the.stage.is.so.small.for.this.giant.and..Bigband
12:13 anyone know the sade song Mike is singing?
good to hear patton singing right and not fucking up the lyrics and songs, at first is funny but then fucking annoying
annoying its whole idea ;]
Yeah it depends if he will sing the songs normally or more lazy. In the 2015 tour he sang more serious .
todos los fanáticos gringos e insoportables jajaja Mike Patton acá obvio canta como recién salido del cascarón!!!! es 1989 y muchos dicen: "Is my favorite era" hahaha please Do you even watch the last concerts with Mr. Bungle in Chile??? OMG he´s not for typical fans. I love he´s more sarcastic with years but only people who deserves his simplicity as human being and his complexity as an artist, that is to say we here in Chile, see the real thing
Wow, he's really copping Kiedis' style here, big time.
How many bands is Anthony the leader of again? Or right no one cares.
I'd rather say he moves like Axl Rose, if you compare his moves with Rose's moves in GnR's video clip of _Patience._
Well not big deal really he was young , in the angel of dust era he start to by really himself
@@Pedroleum100 agreed, reminds me much more of Rose than Kiedis
Patton is one of a kind!!
Patton was on another level. That's why it pissed kiedis off so much, he took his act and did it better. 😂
