Are you gonna re-release weareallgoingtoburninhell?
When you famous af but feel like your old work that you're very proud of is somewhat slept on, you put out a fucking lyric video. King shit. Now it's time for a simian drugs lyric video. But they ain't ready lol.
Mu would be proud
El-P - you always have some incredibly original beats
you beautiful son-of-a-bitch (not disrespect to your mother).
Feel like I just unlocked a hidden level in hiphop.
Ha ...it b like dat
Now you must listen to The Weatherman, Cannibal Ox, Company Flow, Cage, Camu Tao, Aesop Rock.
Edit. I recommend also Big L, Antipop Consortium, MF DOOM, Souls Assasins, The Psycho Realm, Non Phixion, Prodigy
@@sebastianperales3630 im just now listening to these dudes. forgot all about em. i heard cannibal Ox's pigeon on a stream not too long ago and i was like wtf is this dope shit playing in the battleground
That’s basically what just happened.
Welcome home
Company Flow, Solo joints, Run The Jewels. EL-P is a living legend still going strong.
also don't forget about cannibal ox, bro. dude literally invented underground hip hop, it's crazy
Would you rate any song from RTJ above this? I don't.
His verses on 'We're Famous' from Aesop Rock's Bazooka Tooth album are some of the best in hip-hop history.
Agreed.
@@carltonbreezy hell nah. I dig RTJ but his solo shit kills it. So groundbreaking. I have all 3 solo joints on vinyl and there my prize possessions
How the actual f is el-p so insanely underrated. Absolutely smashed underground hip hop in the early 2000's, produced some insane stuff for others, made more amazing solo stuff and is now half of RTJ who are simply brilliant. The guy is a hip hop legend.
Money and Politics
Ikr
All good underground rappers will always be underrated. At least el-p is getting some shine with rtj now. There's a lot of others struggling for a few thousand views after 20 years of dope shit
@@mjay776 like who, give me some names i want to check them out
"Absolutely smashed underground.." is why he was not acknowledged till he chose.
Underground hip-hop and rap always hits better.
when this come out? yesterday, dude was on to something long time ago, this song is modern America.
That's what I love!
Timeless music for period!
Still sounds like the future. Tell the new kids what’s up El.
El P rymes wit a time machine in his pocket..hehehe ...funcrusherplus the shit tho...so is dis shit
Thanks eL P
Yesss
Seriously, this is one of the hardest drum loops. shout out to the silver apples.
Silver apples sample? Dope
this is the one
Captures post 9/11 NYC anxiety like nothing else, then or now. Thumbs up if you agree
Holy SHIT well said.
he said he wrote these songs before 9/11. youre just grifting for attention
This man ain't age in 15 years
Ummm...lol
we have all been lied to drugs alcohol and smokes are the fountain of youth. also producing dope ass music will make you immortal
He just got fatter and hairier.
@@Scallycowell his flows changed over time. It's more refined now.
@@BxBirthday it does
How is El-P not up there when mentioning great white rappers? He just might be the best. Fucking insane lyrics and beats, absolutely love it.
He is with people who actually have a knowledge of hip hop not just what the media hype is
He's absolutely a top 3 rapper producer.
Probably because El-P does not identify with the fictitious identity/contstruct of "Whiteness".He's way deeper than that. His ability to be a relevant voice in independent hip-hop culture proves that.
Great white/black/hispanic/Russian - it doesn't matter. He's great though indeed, a Kalashnikov that whole humanity is thankful for 🙏
@@radioyug this.
This is one of my all time favorite albums from an awesome period in rap. El P and Mf Doom held me down.
I wish the people giving Run the Jewels 10s of millions of views would spread some of that love to Fantastic Damage.
I love the Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer reference
It's hard to explain, but in 2003, I moved to NYC in large part because of this video. It was the right decision.
Sure you still feel that way with Corona?
Lol new York is fucking gay
@@ronaldwhitman1377 Why is a 5 year old on this video?
@@ronaldwhitman1377 do you know how you sound???
Preoccupied with gay on the brain.
NY gave you the music you like to post dumb comments on.
You felt like you needed more red guns point blank in your face?
THE OUTKAST SHIRT
never thought we'd get an HD version this is dope
I noticed that.
yo i had this in super low res on my like windows 98 computer back on the day
Want that shirt, and some square burgers
Whenever I listen to El-P or Aesop Rock I can't help but think "how is possible that we haven't reached the point where every combination of words has been said yet ?"
1:43 how many people are still listening to this song 🎧 in 2024 and soon it’s going be 2025 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💥💥💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Classic
Damn you’re here too?
Trap Lore Ross have you ever thought of doing an el-p vid
Yeah you should do more underground hip hop as well.
You should do the story of the death of camu tao and aesop rock and el ps fracture afterwards
Ratings the fact you bang this gem
I was late on RTJ and very late on EL-P. I'm so happy he's re-uploading his older stuff so I can dive into his catalogue easier. This is a banger.
Check out his tracks EMG, league of extraordinary nobodies and the whole album “I’ll sleep when you’re dead” they are bangers.
El-Producto been killing the game..Peep Company Flow...Weathermen...his features on Aesops Music For Earthworms Album...hes been killing shit
Same here. I can't believe I slept on him so long! I feel like, everything El-P touches is pure gold, he's got the Midas Touch.
@@AnteyeSocial dont forget cannibal ox cold vein
No worries, everyone finds stuff at different times. Honestly tracking down stuff prior to modern YT is the most fun - its mostly out there but there is always new stuff to find!
Saved the gesture
"Why things we find beautiful undermine power?"
Damn.
His lyrics are like his music : Dark and beautiful.
You want to buy the farm but the lands not yours to own; i watched this when it was new but it didn't really hit until now.
"New world lullaby, Sirens" El is as in tuned as he is talented.
Existence on the fringes and such
At the time I remember feeling like The Cold Vein was an omen, a foreshadowing of something dark and post-apocalyptic.. and Fantastic Damage was the response to that new reality, a dispatch from the wounded soul of NYC.
El producto is my fav producer since funcrusher plus. I'm 43 black man from MN. This man has transcended all. Killer mike sought him out for the same reasons
I'm a 47 year old white dude from a small country in Europe and I absolutely agree. Straight up genius
He hasn't transcended all but definitely most he is definitely an MC i would point people to to show why hip hop is so important. T.O.J is one of the greatest examples of lyricism period.
GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAARR!!!
This song is the reason why I started making music. Thank you EL-P.
Bless ya, brother...
The production on this song is godly. I’ve never heard anything like it
@Vivacomunismothat’s why label execs try to disrupt that rapper/producer relationship so often.
El Ps best song
We need more of this kind of HIP HOP....ASAP.
I've never heard of you, and as a 53 year old Southern Baptist Black Man, I absolutely love your shit. Your a welcomed sound and throwback style in this era that people call "Hip-Hop", hell, I grew up on the real stuff. Bruh, keep doing what you doing while I go look for your stuff in stores, peace!
If you like this, check out the debut album, "Funcrusher Plus" from his first group, Company Flow. That record is universally considered to be one of the GREATEST, most important underground hip hop albums of all time. I 100% guarantee you will be astounded at how great it is!

Fo show! Thank you, peace!
El Producto after 20 years nearly this still hits hard in 2024 💯💯💯🔥
HOLY SHIT HAVE I BEEN SLEEPING
Still coming back after all these years. Thanks EL-P for your music.
How the fuck have I never heard of this guy? Dude is sick af
El-p, not only deserves, but EARNED the right to be in the conversation about hip hop's greatest rapper/producers.
Been listening to hip hop since 89’… In that time span, El is one of the best hands down…Peace
I CANNOT handle how absolutely TEARIN this beat is..... & OH those stabs.......
El p reinvented the game
I saw this man in 07’ or 08’ in seattle after Fantastic Damage dropped. Greatest hip hop show til this day. Never seen a single man rip a stage so hard. Respect
el p el mejor productor ny
I first heard El-P in 2004 when I was about 11 or 12 years old. Found him through Cannibal Ox from tony hawks underground in 2003. Looked them up and found Def Jux records where I found EL-P, Mr Lif, Aesop Rock and others. For context, I was a Linkin Park fan and the only rap I knew was Eminem, 50 Cent, Lil John, etc and wasn't much of a fan. Once I discovered this whole other genre of hip hop/rap it just made more sense to me. It was like, hip hop and rap can be more than guns, money, women, drugs, narcissism, etc...definitely had an impact on me at a young age growing up. I could connect with the anger found within rock music like Linkin Park and other bands, and even though I didn't understand any of the lyrics from El P, CanOx or Aesop, I knew there was a deeper message somewhere in there. Something about the messages being so obscure and hidden resonated with me, I appreciated the lack of bluntness and straightforwardness to the lyrics. It gave me an additional outlet of music to connect with in a different way than I was used to. Prior to his success with RTJ, I had never met another person who knew who EL-P or Aesop Rock was.
This song is a fucking banger, video is genius.
This video blew my mind when I saw it for the first time. Still got it on an old Def Jux disc 😎
Revenge Of The Robots🦸♂️
Toki Longsmokes that’s the one!
Doesn't suprise me listening to your music that El is an influence. Ya got good taste Wrek.
WrekonizeTheMusic Nice. I don’t have that but I have this album still.
You do have some excellent material my dude.👊🏽
el-p is the actual GOAT, you cant convince me otherwise
I saw El-P and Aesop Rock at a festival in the Adirondacks in 2006. Everyone was crowded under a small tent stage, it was cold and pouring rain and everyone was fucked up on hallucinogens. I think the sound fucked up and they just freestyled for the last 30 mins. It was awesome and a great memory (kinda) for me.
This Video/Rap, is one of the Best, and most relevant I've ever seen!
One of the best songs in any genre ever made.
This is still timeless.
Twenty sum years old and these bars still run laps around your local "rapper".
Pure dystopian authorship
1:24 yo El-p lookin powerful right there mah Boi gimme a bite of that sangich
Eminem is great, yeah, but EL-P is just on another level.
I just heard of him, please name a song better than EM because im just finding songs of him rapping about retarded shit & i grew up to 90s hip hop, it reminds me of 90s rap but if andy milonakis took hip hop serious & not comedy
Thank you!❤
lol why compare him to Eminem? LOL
comparison could be made to KRS -1 maybe Black Though (Roots)
Been rocking with EL since I first heard Co Flow Funcrusher Plus all them moons ago..
Yesterday is like today...Salut
I don't care what nobody says: Fandam=GOAT hip hop album.
I love the film grain, the 4:3 ratio, looks like a home video from the late 80's. Just feels so raw, I love it.
One of my favorite rappers from home. NYC bruhhh!!!!
Fun Fact: the Elevator scene round 1:27 is the Elevator that brings you to the old Def Jux Office in New York. I stood in that very Elevator in 2004 or 05 when I was record digging in NYC. We tried to get some exclusive shit or free stuff. In that Office someone told us that 9th Wonder and Murs will do a record together. Which was in the end Murray's Revenge. Still got great memories of those days..
This seems more relevant by the day
This was a big thing in my life. We pumped this in a black Volvo with tinted windows back in 2002. Couple of thin white boys in rural Northern Europe causing confusion to a bunch of metalheads and conservative christians. Man those were the days..
Hell yeah...I remember those days..
Norway?
El FINALLY got his due with RTJ
Been killing it since like 93ish. He deserves it and he's so cool, he spun his own after party in Philly and mingled with the crowd.
This footage look like it came out when deep space nine premiered on television. Heavy lyrical bars are off the charts!
I am here to admit I only listened to this song because the title made me smile because Deep Space 9 is my favorite Star Trek, and I'm not the biggest rap fan, but this is pretty damn cool.
2024 coming by to call this video brilliant
damn this is so ill - can't believe how well this song and the video hold up 20 years later!!
arguably one of the best rappers of all time. imo the best producer rapper of all time hands down
@Parra Painting nice try. Been a fan for a while. If you disagree speak your peace.
Nice to know I wasn't the only one who came back to this song after the news.
This is the hardest fucking beat.
This is one of the greatest music videos ever made. That symbolism behind having a gun pointed at you at all times is insane. Not to mention this track is off one of the greatest album's of the early 2000s. "Get behind the walls of deep space, you wanna kill yourself but your life's not yours to take" This track has hella layers.
0:03 great song 🎧 and video 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🎤💯💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯🎤🎤☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
I love the bright orange guns. Reminds me of the game “SUPERHOT”. Developers probably saw this video and said “we need more of this”.
Robert Marquez the red dudes! lol
Would not be surprised
This goes extremely hard
One of the greatest, most timeless Underground gems ever!!! One of the greatest Hip Hop tracks in general!!! Dope lyricism to the highest caliber in this!!! El is an icon!!!
Best supporting cast ever.
This song used to be my ringtone back in the day...
Anyone that hasn't had an El beat tone isn't maxing this life
word I had company flow Krazy kings as a "ringback" tone ppl would hear when they called me lmao im old now
Still my ringtone now
Classic New York flow
El-P is living proof that if you bide your time and never sell yourself short, there are benefits to keepin it real. Respect, love and honesty.
The videography is brilliant!! Wow... This is how it feels walking around the world today...
If this splashed today God rest your modern rapper
El P changed my life. Now im a rapper and producer.
Pre-RTJ El-P was dope.
I watched this fully prepared to clown it, and I couldn’t do it. This was amazing.
young el-p is so gd adorable
This is my favorite El-P beat of all time, and probably my favorite El-P song in general
This is the most Chaotic amazing beat ever
Still a banger. 18 years old , still feels like cutting edge compared to brothers mumbling.
Cheerz from Poland
As many times I’ve watched this video, is that Don Cheadle eating fries?
Had to scroll down a lot for this comment, but very happy I did. That is, indeed, mr. Don Cheadle, eating fries. 🍟
Omfg 34 yo, 24 years with rap and I just discover this dope stuff at 3:44. Old school never disappoint.
This man's production techniques are on a different level.
this music video's so hard. it could easily have been made today.
And it wouldn't be any better if they shot it on an up to date camera.
Thank god for the drugs and drums
Not sure why this got recommended, lol. But glad it did, hadn't seen this in like 15 years.
Happy 18th
El-p The GOAT
HARD as HELL
Listening in 2022 and it's still futuristic. From freestyling in Fat Beats back in the day to selling out the Garden with RTJ and RATM this year. El is a hip hop genius.
my, GOD 🙏🏽
I love that he included Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer in these lyrics...
Heard this song when I was in like 9th grade; Power 106 had a show late night on Sundays that played Rock and [Underground] Hip-Hop. It was called like “Channel Zero” or “Mass Distortion” with DJ C-Minus.
I miss when I used to like radio.
This album and Cold Vein changed a lot of my appreciation for samples and use of words.
Thanks for hitting us with a lyric vid...I remember the "Independent as fuck" and DefJux days. Great times.
Abilities is a beast
Hear how crazy his timing on the beat is, its like hes floating in the middle. Some crazy fucking producing right there.
