Thanks for a smile during Quarantine Blues
Jerry died when I was a kid.. so I followed DMB around for a few years. This tugs at my heart-strings right here!
This was the greatest two days of my life. Camping at Lee's with great people and friends. SPAC was AMAZING... Dave put on such an amazing show.
Wow, just came back 6 years later and this was sweet to see. Love you younger me.
I've been a fan of Chester for a long time. Much love and gratitude to you for sharing so much love.
GRATEFUL DAVE!!!!
This two nights at SPAC were by far the best dave show's ive ever seen. Especially the energy on the 4th of July. It would be too bad if they didn't make this into a weekend on the rocks style dvd. Amazing.
Nice and thoughtful tribute.....The Dead were playing in Chicago this night for the second of the three concerts of The Fare Thee Well tour....
Mr. Fleck takes the song to some amazing places.
I came here for he banjo
He certainly does.
Awesome this was a classic show. Still buzzing around from this song. Can't believe it is an end of an era. Lots of great memories from DMB and the Grateful Dead.
I've seen Dave over a hundred times. This is in my top 2 shows. Unbelievable.
Thank you for putting this one together so quickly!
This is jamming, digging the mix. Thanks for hooking this up. Cheers!
I love how Tim Reynolds just lays into the C major blues at 0:23. The song is in G major, so that’s why it sounds “spicy”.
I get the chills every time I listen to this, brings me right back to seeing it happen
So awesome and so necessary! I was hoping a cover would happened and it did. I was in Chicago watching the DMB setlist come through and there it was…..about 45 minutes later the Grateful Dead did it with Trey killing it! the boys were playing tight for sure,
Beautiful footage by TheStoneFool - way to go, man. Nice compile! Not a dead fan, but I really enjoyed this.
They can play GD because Carter is 2 drummers onto himself.
Phenomenal. This brings me right back. What an incredible weekend. And what a sign of respect to pay homage, a beautiful way to bring things full circle and connect two beautiful events happening simultaneously. So much love for this band and SPAC.
Fantastic! Thank you!
Dave's reaction at the end says it all!
+Karen Drew Yes it does!! Just perfect! :D
Karen Drew apparently Carter was skeptical Dave would remember all the words thus The finger-pointing ha ha I told you so
Awesome!! Thanks guys!!
All I can say is WOW!!!😊 Thanks so much for your hard work!! I know it takes a lot!!
That was awesome! What a night. Thank you for the edit!
Everyone need a little Chester in their life. Thank you !!!
Please do a full show for this one at SPAC. What an amazing show.
Todd Putorti YES!!!!
Todd Putorti This SPAC weekend was off the charts amazing!!! One of his best ever
+Todd Putorti what great night. Would be nice to relive it!
Happy Birthday Dave!
You guys rock. Thank you.
Awesome weekend!!! Thanks for putting this together. Great work as always!!!!
Thx John for the video!
Awesome. Truly awesome.
Amazing version
Tim's smile is heartwarming!
Beautiful
TOP NOTCH! Chester thank you!!!
Great song and tribute to the TGD
Awesome Dave and cool beans I always preferred this uptempo like the studio recording rather than the slow ones GD ripped live
Oh chestercopperpot how I jumped when I saw this in my feed....Thanks for the good work
Me too!!
Great video. Hope the tapes are released soon :)
Sweetness
Awesome!!
Hell yeah.
Thanks
Was in pit! Next stop Chicago GD! Blew my Mind!
I’ve always appreciated that Dave covers the Grateful Dead, usually with incredible special guests like Bela. However it’s clear Dave is not a Dead Head. Which is fine. He just falls a little short. Then there is Bela. He gets it and it shows.
Is there any other concert when this song was played with Bela and DMB? Great performance!
Amazing. Jerry would have approved!
Good stuff.
Omg
Yay
I don’t know if the bands would have liked it but I would have loved jerry and Dave together, trey and Dave worked together could you imagine Dave jerry and trey, maybe finally all the phish, Dave, and deadheads could stop fighting
Dave needs more banjo’s in his life.
AKG CK63 Actives -- Chris doesn't have the Neumanns this summer :)
Garcia would be happy.
Does anybody know where I can find the audio source for the whole show? This was my first DMB show and I've been wanting a recording for a while now. This quality is incredible
You can download it from Dreamingtree.org. That's where DMB audio tapers seed their recordings first. Live/Legal bit torrent downloads (free registration). This is the link for Chris Drews' recording: www.dreamingtree.org/torrents.php?id=34&torrentid=33#torrent33
Bela Fleck is the modern Earl Scruggs, as in reinventing the banjo.
Did Jerry ever play banjo on this tune?
Wow.
Love the very end, looks like Dave's giving the drummer shit for not recognizing the last beat of the song
Am I the only one who thinks Bela stole the show? I normally don’t appreciate his music(but appreciate his skill). Without him this would been a bar band
;D
Is he just making up the chorus?😊
Damn Tim, you get no respect bro.
Dave, Bella AND Mr. Tim Reynolds!
j
I think our arrangement was better. Definitely needs a mandolin.
Would have sounded a lot better with a banjo player who didn't feel compelled to "reinvent the instrument". Someone should have grabbed Bela's axe and done a John Belushi on it.
I really think we need to sign a petition to get John Mayer away from Dead & Co. and Have Dave Matthews tour with them....
Have you been to any of the Dead and Co. shows? He has been sounding phenomenal with them.
one of dumbest posts ever
