Yep. Found out after the show, but had no idea at all when it originally happened. Both the dancers and Harry adapted extremely well to the mistake. I don’t know how they did it, and especially him having to sing while doing it all in reverse … Shows his skill and dedication though

Even though their performance and professionalism is phenomenal, it bugs me how the person in charge of the turntable had ONE job and failed miserably at it. The difference in everyone’s energy during the 2nd half of the performance after the turn table stops spinning and everyone has control of the choreography is obvious, and it makes me sad that we could have had that same energy for the whole performance :/
As a ballet dancer, we often get taught on one side and then have to do the other side suddenly. This has come with years and years of practise. I can't even imagine how stressful it must've been to be on stage at one of the biggest award shows and only find out everything is going wrong as it beings-to have to sing and improvise your way around this. Appalling behaviour by the person controlling the turntable. Huge props to everyone on stage for still being able to pull it off!
Mine too, i am 54 yrs old and i discovered 1Direction and Harry Styles just a few yrs ago. I love all 5 of them. Harry is just extra special for me. When i am down he is my go to place. Love how humble and kind he is, plus his music❤

I have watched this performance about a hundred times since October 3rd of last year. I didn't have a TV before then I was living in the board and care for people with no homes for the last 5 years until I got this wonderful senior apartment in Oakland california. Harry watermelon sugar I heard in the mental institution and I thought it was my boyfriend singing to me I was a little crazy back then from lack of sleep and not even eating very much I even when I smoked weed which wasn't even legal then I still could hardly eat because of the pounding on my ceiling by the upstairs psychotic neighbor who wanted me to date him. I'm recording some of your songs at a studio across the street from where I live. I hope someday to see one of your concerts when the fans aren't over singing over your voice. I'm doing really well at my singing I did three songs in an hour today okay that's enough love you

Yes! They all adapted very well. Especially Harry. We had absolutely no clue that it was a mistake until after the show when we saw the headlines ! May not be his best but it was honestly an amazing performance to watch in person I will never forget it!

Harry has put a lot of work into this album and he deserves it. If you roll back the camera you can see harry standing up clapping and whistling for Adele for a grammy she got. So so sooooo proud of Harry 💚 Also am I the only one that noticed Harry’s vocals weren’t as on key as usual especially at the beginning? It might have had something to do with the turntable but it definitely seemed like he was struggling a bit with song. It could have also just been a bad vocal day cus I know that can happen sometimes. He still did a good job it’s difficult to perform live like that with such big props! (He did sound better after he got off the turntable I’m sure that’s was the reason)
The guy who introduced him was a friend (and i think producer) that worked with Harry on his album and has been working with him for a while, it’s just a little nickname he has for him. But I agree, they did an amazing job recovering from that. I would’ve had a panic attack lol
I'm just glad he at least did the original falsetto in parts of the song. He almost never does that anymore. It's not like falsetto strains your voice at all, so i don't get it.
He seemed so out of it during this performance . He puts on amazing shows from clips I’ve seen of concerts so it’s so sad when an artist kinda fumbles during a televised event where most of mainstream judges them . But it seems there were probably a lot of things going on in his mind bc of the technical difficulty . This may not be a popular opinion, but I do see people giving their opinions in the comments, so I think it's fair that I give mine. To put it nicely, the energy was quite low, and his singing wasn't quite there. I've seen better high school performances to be honest. Quite underwhelming.
The man can't sing period. He writes catchy songs, looks good on stage, has a fun fashion sense, is charming and entertaining. But I think there a much better artists out there that just weren't as lucky as him.
Watch him sing in other performances when the stage wasn't messed up. Howard stern show for example without all the extras or when he was on x factor show. He can sing. Get new ears or listen to other performances.

Harry doesn’t normally sound like that live, I’ve seen him multiple times now, this is a fluke. The turn table was spinning in the wrong direction and it threw everyone off. They’re already nervous to be performing on a huge stage like the Grammy’s, then to literally have to flip the choreography completely around on the spot, most people would have froze up on that stage. He was thrown off and unfortunately the performance wasn’t as good as he normally performs, but he still did a pretty great job given what he had to deal with.
Harry is amazing Live. I’ve had the opportunity to see him a couple times, given that both him and the dancers were caught off guard by the turn table spinning the opposite direction… It is normal for things to start rough. They had an amazing recovery though and he still out on a phenomenal performance for someone who had to sing while doing his rehearsed choreography backwards

Can you please search his performances in his tour for AS IT WAS? or today’s BRITS awards performance? there were technical problems during GRAMMY’s performance that’s why it wasn’t the best but just search for his other AS IT WAS performances and you’ll see the difference. or at least to be fair, just see his GRAMMYs 2021 performance for WATERMELON SUGAR.
