Hugh may be the world’s most perfect man in the world - the looks, muscles, talent, voice, and personality.... what’s not to love! He is the Greatest Showman!
He's never allowed to die. Not until he's reached 105 with a solid 20 years off from performing minimum, only if he wants to tho. I feel like he loves performing, and if he truly does, keep going sir
I was lucky enough to see Hugh in Beauty and the Beast back in 1995. I took my daughter who was a bit cranky, due to long bus trip and long wait, but I have never seen a small child cheer up so fast when the music started with a bang. It was a great show.
Loved The Greatest showman but the behind the scenes stuff was soul changing to watch. That process looked like the most cathartic musical movie/theater moment ever. So glad they recorded that!!!
I don't know if this counts but his perfomance along side the whole cast of Les Miserables at the Oscars is so amazing. All of them sang beautifully. One of the greatest musical perfomances I've seen at the Oscar's Ceremony indeed.
I'm so glad you said "people" and not just performer. He is so incredibly down to earth, terrific sense of humour, easy on the eyes, great family man........ No wonder everyone loves to work with him and never a bad word spoken. A great human being.
Love him, too. So sad to see his split from his wife of 30 years because I loved that he made something work that seems so hard in the Hollywood crowd. He dances with his wife in a Christmas instagram from last year and it’s a joy to watch. Love to eatch him.
I love Jeremy Jordan’s intense face when Hugh starts singing in the last video. The look of “you’re not supposed to be singing, I’m supposed to be singing, why are you singing?” Then he just bursts out laughing. It’s so sweet
They've done the Tonys, although separately. I'd love to see them together bringing some life and fun into the Oscars. What a team! I'm a Aussie and have always followed Hughs' career but due to my love of theatre greatly admire Neil Patrick Harris. Let's wake up those boring Oscars!
@@saradecapua3264 If not Harris, who is talented enough to keep up with Hugh? Even in The Greatest Showman, Zac Effron couldn't keep up. Or are you suggesting that Hugh host by himself?
I was so happy to see the behind the scenes version of From Now On as number one. It took a lot of guts for him to sing, despite knowing he could rip open his stitches. But he did it anyway because of his passion for music and theater. I'm always smiling when watching that video because it's truly inspirational, and From Now On is also my favorite song from The Greatest Showman.
To me, Hugh is one of the greatest actors to have ever graced Hollywood. I was lucky enough to see him Live on his One Man show and WOW. Not only is he a sensational Actor, but a great Dancer and a brilliant Singer. Along with all of that, he always comes across as a real kind and generous person. An actual Hollywood Legend. ❤
This is really Ironic, because...he was actually asked by Joel Schumacher, but he had to turn it down because at the time he was already doing Van-Helsing.

I do agree but this video is about Hugh, not The Greatest Showman. Zac didn't do a great deal in that scene anyway and Hugh is always the better performer. Some people just have that natural talent.

I love how he couldn't resist singing. That's how I am, not supposed to sing sometimes (if I pop my jaw it causes severe pain) but the music just moves me and I can't resist. How Hugh and everyone else got into that song just makes me smile.

I first saw Jackman when he did that “throwaway” role in the movie having to do with the building of the Brooklyn Bridge… Leopold and Kate??? He possessed that ineffable quality that compelled me to go and find out what else he had done. The only thing I could find in those days at blockbuster (yes it was that long ago) was “someone like you,” with Ashley Judd. Needless to say, I was hooked!!! In my next life I’m going to be wealthy and healthy enough to see, in person, every live performance he’s done. An amazing talent that is by all reports, an apparently a really nice guy…. and still in love with his wife. Who knew Gods could fit that all into one package!
This is what got him noticed in the States. Even Steven Spielberg was blown away by that performance. It's a shame that the clip showing him playing Peter Allen, they hadn't a clue why he was wearing what he was. The Boy From Oz should have had it's own number, was shocked it was brushed over.
Seriously! It's made all the more impressive when you know they really were cutting back that year and like the craigslist dancers...really were from Craigslist.
They're not big on doing their research on this site. I'm an Aussie and have followed his career from the start. They don't bother with anything that America didn't have a hand in, the business I mean.
I met Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine, but I now see him as a talented star. He's a great actor, singer, performer. He could be the hero, the villain or the anti hero, or sometimes the neutral character of every story you could imagine.
I love “Who am I”, but imo “The Confrontation” and especially “Suddenly” - the song composed for the LesMis movie - were Jackman’s top highlights....but I adore the whole movie (including Russell Crowe’s singing performance) so I might not be really objective. 😍😊
Thank you, you've made my day. I have got so tired of the unwarranted criticism Russell received from Les Mis. In my opinion he did great with some not so easy songs. I wouldn't have chosen anyone else. The only tweak I'd make would be to tell Eddie Redmayne to stop trying to sing over everyone else.
Elliott Moose Who are you referring to, Hugh or Russell? Personally, I think Russell did a terrific job despite the critics. That part was made for him, acting and singing wise.
Russell did not have the singing range or ability for the part of Javert at all; he acted fantastically, I can agree there...but if you've seen/listened to any other version of Javert then you know he was not up to par singing wise
@@TheWiseGrif What you are forgetting here is this wasn't meant to be a filmed stage musical but a story told in song and voice. It wasn't about the quality of the vocals whilst singing but how it was portrayed. I've definitely heard Hugh Jackman sing many times better than this and found he did the worst performance of 'Bring Him Home' I've heard but that's because it's being compared to the musical, not a movie which includes both types of vocals. This is what so many forget, this is a movie, not a filmed musical. When you watch it again, listen to how different Hughs voice is.

Hugh Jackman is what I call a real entertainer. He should be named besides Sinatra, Astaire and Kelly. Have you any idea how many musical performances Hugh has done. They could've found many many more if they bothered to research his entire career but they only stuck to a few. There would be more even greater.
@@samlegeret7691 Unfortunately, I have to disagree. He could have done it much better and whenever I hear others sing it, I just wish Hugh had done it better as that is THE song of Les Mis.
I agree! Valjean's Soliloquy represented the convict's first epiphany - his moment of redemption ( arguably the most abiding theme of the story/musical) . It was Hugh Jackman's most dramatic moment as well as when he showed his full musical range. He was nominated for an Oscar that year and had he won, the Soliloquy could have been his Oscar moment!
I think for any other actor playing Valjean "Bring Him Home" would be the number one on any list, but no matter how much I love Jackman in, like everything, "bring him home" was a bit disappointing for me. It is supposed to be sung vulnerable and he was way too loud. I prefer a softer and more intimate version. But I see that you love the fact he sung it so powerful so it worked out for you :P
Bring Him Home was absolutely atrocious and shouldn’t be on any “best of” list at all. Greatest Showman was wonderful but Bring Him Home is a blight on his career.
For me it was seeing him hosting Carols in The Domain 1998. He performed with other singers and on his own that night. He did brilliantly. And yes, I was there in the Domain to see it.🙂
I forgot he played Gaston in Beauty and the beast in Australia, and he said in an interview he drank too much water he literally pissed himself haha 😂😂😂😊

Ah, from now on, my second favorite song. From my favorite movie. Makes me cry.
What Talent, what a Voice, What a guy💐
What a brilliant master of the musicals. ❤️❤️
For me it was seeing him hosting Carols in The Domain 1998. He performed with other singers and on his own that night. He did brilliantly. And yes, I was there in the Domain to see it.🙂
Oh bless you, you are one of the best ever. If not the best, all round entertainers 😍 Love you Hugh Jackman ❤️ 😘
#1 makes me tear up every time I see it. Hugh is the greatest showman!
I could watch this daily
Quite coincidental that this was released on his birthday. 😁
Bridget The Rose Probably not a coincidence
I forgot he played Gaston in Beauty and the beast in Australia, and he said in an interview he drank too much water he literally pissed himself haha 😂😂😂😊
Disney65Fan that’s the first interview I saw of Hugh Jackman and I fell in love with him
One of the greatest singers in Broadway history. He is the Greatest Showman ever ❤️ love him so much from Charles Bosselman

The Dallas show was amazing. My sister and I loved the entire show!
Great list!! But, where’s his Oscar performance????
Amanda Levesque I know that was amazing
Amanda Levesque, the best ever!
Best Oscar Performance ever.
voice of an angel
body of a greek god
smile that could soften the hardest hearts
He's just the gift that keeps giving.
I am a little sad his "Musicals are Back!" performance from the Oscars isn't on this list though. THAT was an awesome musical moment.
Why does he not have an oscar?
Right?
isnt it ironic ? Im also curious
Good question!
He was robbed when Daniel Day-Lewis won instead for Lincoln. Which was at least his 3rd win.
IKR???

Ikr🤦
that is the greatest musical performance in not just Oscars history but any award show history
I loved him in The Greatest Showman
first discovered Hugh in London in Oklahoma- he commanded the stage- was lucky to see him in The Boy From OZ and his one man show in NYC- he is incredibly talented and gives a great performance
I get goosebumps seeing this video to where he's doing "From Now On" cause Hugh REALLY wanted to do a musical on Barnum. And knowing that he carried alot on his shoulders, you can see him being the Greatest Showman dispite the stiches.
Yes to number one! Literally gives me chills every time I watch it!
FROM 👐 NOW 👐 ON 👐 IS 👐 M A G I C 👐👐
This is honestly my new favorite thing on the Internet. I'm gonna go watch that footage again and cry....
I looks more passionate singing than being Wolverine and honestly, it suits him! He’s amazing!
The Oscars opening number of One Day More was SO incredible! I sstill watch it and get chills and I saw it live.
Absolutely agree with this list!
