My name is Hope.
I had an owner who didn't take care of me.
I was very hungry because I was pregnant.
I gave birth to 8 puppies. 5 boys and 3 girls.
One of my puppies was very sick.
He didn't make it.
I left my home to go look for food.
And was hit by a car. My owners thought I was dead.
She called animal control to pick up a "dead" dog and puppies. She didn't want us anymore.
I wasn't. I was in a coma with a severe head injury.
When the animal control officer showed up and she realized I was still alive she took me to the vet.
I was treated, given food and finally feeling better.
I am thankful that I found people to take care of me while I heal.
I am so thankful that I have a warm bed, food and water.
I am so thankful that I am now safe.

I trully will never understand how people can be so cruel..these animals lives matter...they are living breathing beings..just as humans are..and deserve to be helped if they need it..not treated cruelly or abused or tortured...

Her previous owner should be ashamed of themselves for not getting her spayed when she was younger then for not taking care of her and her pups. I'm hoping she and her puppies find good loving forever homes with people who will get them the vet care they need and love them.
There are only two of Hope's puppies left! Lets hope they find a home by Christmas.

how are my babies doing? i am glad she pulled thru. that mommy and her babies needs a good loving home. i love the whole family. i wish I had the space to get her. cute booboos. i am an animal person all the way. love dogs.

I don't suppose that you will ever see this since it has been over a year since it was put up. But this touched me so much that I am going to comment any way. How can anyone be so heartless and cruel? Thank you so very much for helping this little Mama and her babies as well as all of the others that you help. I am sure that Mama Hope and her babies have all been adopted into loving homes and for that I am glad. Everyone wants cute little puppies, but Mama Hope is the one that I would have loved to adopt! She deserves to be treated like a queen for the rest of her life after all that she has had to endure. She looks small, like a Chihuahua maybe? Precious little girl.

I went to the pound. In a dark cage of shadows, one with no light, I saw an emaciated dog. Long story of how I had to fight to adopt her before they could kill her. Kalamazoo County Animal Controll is an awful place. I still hate the woman who ran the place. Anyway, once I got her, she bloomed. More long story. She gave birth to ten puppies. One is still with me after 17 years. All found good homes. Julie died of Cancer in 09. Ms Eunice I still have at 17 and still going strong. I took the chance and went with what the light told me to do. No regrets. None.

Oh there were many, many rescues since. All in strange accounts of themselves. One I had to do the smackdown on a guy abusing a dog. ol, back then I was big and very very strong. Cats too. We could afford it then. The last one that came to us was my Dalmatian, Ms Spots, she was found in the highway in front of a park. I told my ex then I had a feeling a dog was coming to us. There she was about a week later. Her first spot coming in. The witch told me that she grew that spot for me. From over 20 forever dogs, I am down to three. I placed hundreds in the last 30 years. I have done what I can. I do not refuse help of course, but the work must go to others. I am tired. My pack is down to three. I am not being morbid, but I only ask the light to let me outlive them. SO I can maintain a good life for them. Lol, it may be a race against time. I know if I should rest. No one will take them in. Every day I get up it motivates me to keep going. It has been a wonderful journey. More should do more. Thank you for your good works. The animals do not understand why the humans can not talk to them.

it is really horrible that people can just dump their pets..just because they no longer have any interest in them..its sad that this poor dog had to go out and try to get food..and got hit..thank God the control officer realized she was not dead and took her to the vet..and im glad the puppies are ok.. shame on that owner..people can be so hateful and cruel
Seeing her lay there in a coma really touched me. That poor girl. I bet she wants to play with her babies but is trapped in her own body 😭

Getting hit by a car was the best thing that happened to this dog! It's funny how positive outcomes can happen because of tragic situations. There is no way they all would have survived if she had just gone home (if they weren't being fed or looked after).
I think so too. It is so unfortunate that something so terrible has to happen first though.

U know same this kind of thing happened with my dog. She was sterlised by some cruel people who left her bleeding after the operation. Some how in state of unconsciousness she came near my house . And we rescued since then she is living with us

Yes, she did wake up from her coma and is very active. But, of course, when I am filming her - she is fast asleep.

I am sorry. My writing is very small. If you look on the PAWsitive FB channel, we actually did a FB Live with this litter. Momma is perfectly fine now and she just fell asleep during nursing as some moms do.

All of these puppies have been adopted but 2nd Chances Rescue in Norco, CA always has more puppies that need saving.

Oh my gosh - furbabys you want a million furbabys you can have. They are everywhere. But, I'm sure Chicago has a couple of good rescues too? Maybe you should adopt locally.
