The experience he brings could prove to be pivotal for the 2026 regulations. So as a reserve driver he's gonna be worth it imo. Although I don't agree when ppl say he's gonna push for the Merc seat and take George's seat. That's just because ppl dislike George, when in reality he'd be leading the championship in the Mclaren (not discrediting Max cuz he's the best on the grid ofc but George would be more clinical than Lando)
@thegridgab It's refreshing to see an F1 creator backing George, and nailing it when it comes to other drivers too. Every single video I've seen on this channel was well-put together, logical and unbiased. Keep up the great work!!
I think all the social media stuff is Bottas trying to show he is marketable. Danny Ric back to RB was a big PR stunt, helped in part with who Danny was rather than his driving. Maybe Bottas is trying to show he isn't just useful in a car.
He's the best teammate ever according to the GOAT. If they think George can compete and win the championship next few years they are going to need a wingman for him.
I would. they gonna need all the help to get the 2026 car in form... I get a sense Toto would not be able to emotionally survive being a second tier team for another 4 years
Tbh, Sauber seems like an absolute zoo to drive for let alone work for. Even moving to a midfield Mercedes would be worth it. Also there should totally be a new racing series for the offspring of former F1 superstars. I want to see Mick Schumacher and Bruno Senna race in the same machinery.
@@thegridgab There's only one way to find out, right? Wimbo wouldn't be a bad choice to team up with for a stream. Pool your audiences for some good old Brit/Dutch banter. ;) He's also pals with Jason... bring in the Irishman for the craic. 😂😂😂
@@thegridgab If Russell is "their guy" then why didn't they hire Bottas, a subservient support driver who won't get in Russell's way? Russell was once touted as "the future of Mercedes" but 2024 has changed everything. When your boss is trying to hire Verstappen then you know you're not "the future". It means, your boss has no faith in you. Instead Toto Wolff chose Kimi Antonelli... since no driver on the current grid has what it takes to dethrone Verstappen it makes sense to to look for new talent. And if Kimi comes good, Russell will be kicked to the curb for the new engine cycle. There will be no repeat of the Hamilton/Rosberg experience, not on Toto's watch. Should Mercedes hire Bottas as reserve driver for 2025, he will be the man for the job in 2026, which is to have Antonelli's back in a championship bid.

He'll never push George out. Bottas will just be a safety net

Thanks very much. That's exactly the route I try to go down. I've always been a George supporter btw
"It was usually into barriers...." oh snaaaap😅
It's the truth

He's certainly added more character

I do wonder about Antonelli to be honest
@@thegridgab I think that would create a Lando and Piastri situation to be honest.
Might be good for him

He's already struggling I think
Valtteri Bottas will most likely have his Mercedes Teammate as George Russell when he returns to that Team, would anyone like to see that happen?

That's just nostalgia porn 😆
I like Bottas I hope he gets a proper chance again driving for a better team
IMO Toto won’t hire Bottas because Toto will see it as making a mistake for letting Bottas go.
Ahhh good point
Why would/wouldn't you bring Bottas back to Mercedes?
Great content mate, you really should do that Livestream together with WimboF1!!
Greetings from Belgium.
@paulamuller7567 I have thought about livestreams. Whether people watch is another thing

Well I was born in Cork and all my family are there, so two Irishmen 😉
Definitely hire Bottas. Kimi and Russel are both immature so a more experienced driver adds value
Yes indeed
Would still have George over Lewis right now
Valtteri will be the ideal wingman for Kimi when they're gonna sack Russell next year.
Nah, Russell is their guy

That was the old Bottas, not sure this new version would do the same
