Once again Bobby you're spot on with the review. That waist is not poppin at all. Looks like that should've been a red flag for the engineers to definitely correct that before they introduced this item for sale. I feel that they should send a few pics to transformer enthusiasts so they can point out the most important flaws before introducing it to the public. That waist would definitely be one of the things I'm sure most people would criticize to make them go back to the drawing board and correct. Its so obvious that I'm surprised that it made it thos far and we're talking about it.
Aesthetically he reminds me of those old black and white cartoon reruns I used to watch as a child. Maybe you know what I'm talking about? The spindly disproportionate characters with the stick figure torsos, and exaggeratedly large limbs. Hmm, you did a great review, Mr. Skullface, but it's left me a little.... Perplexed!?... as to which Cliff Jumper to get.

They need a strategy fast - the pool is drying up. You might need to do a sit down Saturday about the future of Fans Toys. They need to look at what is happening with flame toys to get some ideas.

Wow, they did a great job on that figure! It's not 100% perfect, but they packed a lot of cool transformations and articulation in this guy. All the pieces come together so perfectly
I would gladly trade the open interior for a place, to hide a better waist, so that space wouldn't be a waste. I would then use haste, my order i would place! Great review Skullface!

I actually like how it looks - when it's just standing there in a (ahem) paradigmatic pose. if he's not standing straight up, then that waist/lower torso area bugs the hell out of me! Unfortunate, because the transformation looks fun and smart.
I will definitely agree that the proportions are off on this guy. Where we disagree is on the severity of those proportions... For me, they are just a bit off, and that minor adjustment doesn't effect my impression on this guy. I still really like what I'm seeing here, and I think this is the best Cliffjumper we've seen to-date. Honestly, if his legs had 1 CM of length added to them I think that would solve the aesthetic issue you are talking about here, and that's just not a huge issue for me.

You have the same problems with this that I do. Its why I went with X-Transbots Toro, despite the massive backpack. It looks great from the front, and the car mode, while not G1 accurate, looks good enough, but wont matter as its going to be in bot mode on my shelf.
In my mind the Minibots are rob-replicas of 2/3 scale kit cars. Just like the original G1 Minibot toys were meant to be transforming versions of stylized reduced scale toy cars, these MP Minibots should be seen as transforming versions of shrunken kit cars. That said, I still want the alt modes to be in matching scale together. Chibi sucks.

After removing the backpack the xtb one looks stellar, but that does niggle at me. I like that this so compact but it does suffer for it. Also FT stunticons, just for poops and giggles right?
I personally like how it looks: P only such BTW on the occasion if it would come to you to review the red figure, Spike from mp-10 can sit behind the wheel.
Fantastic review as always and I agree, such a shame they did so many cool things just to drop the ball when it comes to the bot mode aesthetics. To be honest I'm not really feeling the XTB version either but only time will tell. Thanks for sharing.

None of the 3rd party CJs are really good, but the X-Transbots one (Toro) looks closest to what I want for a robot mode Cliffy despite the backpack issues...which aren't an issue for me given I don't display my robots' backsides. If this one's proportions were better, especially that wafer thin waist, it would have been the one I'd have gone with.
Man, I saw this at TFCon and my first thought was the thin waist. It really jumped out at me. However the engineering with the doors and backpack is really brilliant. It’s real bummer though with how it looks. Otherwise he would of been my Cliffjumper of choice. The chibi car is kawaii too. LOL.

Huh, didn't even know a black version was being made, still on the fence between this and XTB's Cliffjumper... I just really want a good Cliffjumper, especially considering he gets shafted toy-wise so often.
It looks kind of skinny, but not so much that it would bother me. Yeah, it looks worse in certain poses, but all you really need to do is not display your figure in those poses.
I never bought MP Bumblebee. Every regret I had about that decision just vanished. I think he looks fine, and I buy 'em to transform them. That transformation looks seriously fun.

I want nemesis colored versions of all Autobots. I have had this idea in mind for a while but I didn’t know if it would look good. This just supports my idea. I want nemesis dinobots. I think he looks OK enough to display, I mean the other options seem even worse. That ACE Cliffjumper is garbage. Ughh tough decisions!
Definitely off on the proportions, hope the X-Transbots one is better. Still a 100x better than Ace's.
