I just gotta disagree ---Edge in 2020 was the greatest return ever. Cena was coming back...Edge had been forced to retire, then managed to work his broken body into wrestling condition again, after being told he would never wrestle again. That was a magical moment.

Yes Cena was coming back, but the time tables would imply he would have came back after the rumble or perhaps even after Wrestlemania.
Cena coming back at the rumble is crazier than Edges' mostly due to the fact that Edge was much older while Cena was still in his prime.
@@ultraomenmurat9937 Which is EXACTLY why Edge's is the best. He was older, and returned in better physical shape than when he left. Edge's return was a TRUE miracle... Cena's was only a surprise because it was early... he was not forced to retire for NINE YEARS and told he would never wrestle again like Edge was.

The Seth heel turn on the Shield is one of the most cinematic ass moments in WWE imo, the way Roman falls, the way it zooms in on Dean's shocked face, it was all so good. Then the call back at WM40 to set up for Cody's win was so good
Agreed. That segment is so popular in the whole world that even non-wrestling fans know about it. I've seen a lot of people use that video world -wide as a meme.
5:55 just to give some context Shinsuke Nakamura described the Coup De Grace as “ feeling like you’re being stabbed in the chest” and you can literally die if Finn botches😭 a Chop is an extremely intense stinging pain but the Coup De Grace got it man😭.
I would love to hear people talk about the Swanton more cuz when the Hardys returned in 2017 Jeff just started saying F it and was just sandbagging people AHAHA

@@Mrryn Finn is really good, but he's just not as over as the guys above him are. He's stuck because the promos he cuts are just Judgment Day related so he doesn't get the chance to really make himself shine.
@@Rob.McDonald I genuinely think he could be though because he has been and plenty still love the guy. Like you said, it does feel like JD (not McDonagh*) hold him back in that sense which is fine from a certain perspective because he's the vet given cred to a young faction and new stars. But at this point, it really does feel like he's treading water, just moving from team to team and being the workhorse for nothing.
Maybe the angle comes about with Finn snaking the title from Priest and that being the nail in the coffin for JD along with what I'm 99% sure is gonna be Rhea coming back from injury as a megastar babyface with how popular she is.
@@Mrryn No argument here that he could be, but he just needs to find his voice on the mic to jump up to the next level. Sami Zayn is a world class talker now, but flashback like 7-8 years ago and he wasn't anything special. He was always great in ring, but he hadn't gained his on the mic confidence that he got later.
I mean...it can't feel great, even if he does pull it well. He's still a grown man falling feet first onto your guts.
Edge in 2020. No question. John Cena was exciting, but then we remembered he was still super Cena and we booed him 5 minutes later. Edge was awesome through the whole Rumble.

i feel like you should judge it off the the return itself and the pop not what happened after cos that’s kinda irrelevant. plus there was rumors everywhere that Edge was coming back but not a single soul thought Cena was coming back that early. When Super Cena can make New Yorkers who are extremely cutthroat fans to lose it…that’s iconic. i love Edge don’t get me wrong but Cena slightly takes this one
We did NOT boo cena 5 mins later lmao, also they're looking at this from the pure "wtf" perspective, edges return was almost expected in the months leading up to the rumble based on the segments he was doing spearing Elias etc, Cena had a literal career ending injury and came back in record timing that no one saw coming, Cena all day.

@@alexanderwilson1592 I respect your opinion but to me, that's like when people say you should judge a match strictly on the in-ring work or "what happened" in the match but wrestling is so much more than that. It's stories and emotions. A blend of real life and fiction. Edge's return was much more emotional for a lot of people. Cena's quick rehab was nothing short of remarkable but we knew he'd eventually come back. We didn't know that for Edge. There may have been rumors about it but it's wrestling. There are rumors about everything. There were rumors about Cena returning during the Mania main event. Did that make it any less special?

The funniest and yet oddly plausible crack consipiracy theory is that WWE *oversold* Cena's injury and that it wasn't as bad as it was in order to sell his surprise return at the Rumble as Cena being superhuman and make it a surprise to the audience.

I think this concept would work better if you polled the audience (discord or patreon or whatever) and you were trying to guess what most people chose.
For the royal rumble return, I gotta go with Edge. I legitimately cried when his music played, and even now when I rewatch it I still get goosebumps

Randy’s timing is just impeccable in big moments during matches. He said that him and Rollins practiced their wm31 spot for a long time and each time they couldn’t never get it, then during the match he hit it perfectly when it mattered most
I like the discussion but would prefer a competitive element - maybe an SCW subscriber poll for This or That, and y'all guess which is most popular?

RVD's frog splash is the best ever mainly because of how well he sells it. He makes it easy for us to believe that he gets impacted by the move almost as much as the one taking it. I don't see wrestlers nowadays doing that, which is a shame.

what i think you guys should do for this is have a poll and guess which “this or that” is ranked higher among the fans, that way it can be a quiz in a way and for the SCW championship.
Liked the content. Something different, something relaxed. I would love more hypothetical situations. Like if yall made an alternative wrestling universe starting with let’s say Santino pinning Bryan. Then what happens. Maybe Roman never really happens. Maybe it’s not rock vs cena it’s rock vs del rio. Maybe not the best video concept but I enjoy those types of conversations with friends

You could make this into a game, poll your Pateron between two different moves, careers, etc. Then use that as the "winner" for what you have to select. Good Mythical Morning does something similar.

i personally think this type of game, where whiteboards aren’t needed and yall just having a discussion, would be a nice addition to the podcast, this could be something yall add to the end of the podcast, yes it’ll add more min to the podcast but i personally wouldn’t mind a longer podcast i could listen to yall for a long time
To make this a game, you could maybe poll your viewers and try to guess which one they picked. Also, D'lo Browns Frog Splash was my favorite.

This can be made into a game. They choose an option on the whiteboard and then debate after their answers are revealed. If they choose differently the one who gets the other to change their mind gets a point.
So the thing with the Seth RKO is that the RKO itself isnt special. Its kinda just a standard RKO. The sequence that lead to it is what makes it special. The launch into the air from the stomp is the cool moment. The Evan Borne RKO is great because getting the timing as close as they did for that to work is insane. Being able to lunch upwards off the mat to catch the other person landing in the right spot is just special.

I believe the RKO on Seth is more impressive from start to finish. RKO on Borne is made so low to the mat that it does not feel as impactful in the terms of the move being as damaging in Kayfabe terms. In my opinion.
Yeah the fact that they managed to get Seth that high up in the air is waaaaay more impressive than Orton just getting slightly above the mat to grab his neck. Both are cool, I just think the Bourne RKO is overhyped when there was less work put in for it.
@@bullworthless Havent Orton said himself that the Seth RKO was the most difficult RKO he has done? And that the Evan Bourne one was relatively easy for him cause Evan did all the work? I feel like I remember Orton saying something like that.
@@Keeperodd I think he said the Seth one they couldnt get right in rehearsal so they just tried it one more time during Mania and finally got it right when it counted. Cant speak on the Evan Borne one, never heard him talk about it.

Evan Bourne does his finisher as normal and Orton barely gets off the ground to grab his neck. That's like being thrown a football and catching it before it hits the ground. The Seth one required both people to be on their game more than usual. Seth had to be able to not fall off of Orton's head and also push himself upwards without actually stomping his head into the ground, and Orton had to help push him up with his head. I have a feeling your favorite wrestlers are high flyers lmao

its obviously austins deal with devil for 2 reasons, you saw rollins turning and was rumours for months of the shield splitting. Austins turn was never expected completly offguard and also changed wwe to an extend the shield one is kind of boring (im an attitude kid so i may be bias)

Good idea. The quizzes are great but I enjoy more just watching you guys discuss. This would be a great addition to your routine, could just take like an hour each week before the podcast and film it since you don't need Sofie for this.

Cena was a bigger shock because no one knew he’d be back, plus it was at MSG, WWE’s historical and most famous arena. Edge was more emotional, but the surprise wasn’t as big because of the leaks on the internet. If there was no leaks of him possibly being there it would’ve been a perfect return

I'll answer the Santino question in one distinct way: Santino should never be World Champion. I think it would just hurt his character honestly because he's a great mid card comedy character. It would be the equivalent of R-Truth beating Damien Priest for the World title. It would just hurt the belt.
With that in mind, I think the least objectionable option would be Santino winning the Royal Rumble because it would undo one of the worst Rumble wins in Alberto Del Rio and also produce a decent World title defense for Edge at Mania. With a hot crowd in favour of Santino if Edge turned heel prior to the match.
