What’s funny about that (and I’ve heard it before too) is that the ‘03 S55 like my old one actually had 497 hp vs the e55’s 469. Same engine, slightly different tune yada yada. But still had plenty more and was probably just too niche to be considered the sedan that ignited the horsepower wars.
I have my windows tinted on my E500 and I only drive mine when I can have weather where I can drive with the windows down. If I'm on the expressway I want to play I roll the windows up where I know I won't be bothered. My daily is an E320 and I only have the tinted windows up when I know cops won't pull me over. Either too cold or rainy. Haven't been bothered yet. I know about the over 100 on both mine because I do that regularly in both. The 211 was the peak of Mercedes wagons and everything else as far as style and ease of repair and maintenance and upgrades. I got mine by pure luck and they turned out be the best in style and computer vs mechanical in my opinion.
$1,500 but there's so much in these to go wrong. Engine mounts don't last. The ABS brake pump controller. Autobox sensors. Battery sensitive like many German '00 cars, but later have more electronics still though they ditched the braking system. 00 cars were the pinnacle across manufacturers and this one's worth the effort
“It puts 350hp to the ground” 😂 without dyno proof…. Sorry I’ve owned a couple 5.0L 500s and they don’t gain 50hp at the crank from headers and tune… and then you went super extra and said 350 wheel HP…. Why lie? Stop the BS please and stop making us Benz/AMG owners look bad. That car isn’t even making 300 wheel HP…
Headers, full exhaust , tune it’s pushing 350 easy 🤣 stage 2 on these pushing closer to 400…you just don’t know how to keep your motor healthy 🤣 maintenance is key to WHP
@@devinsanchez2615 I’ve owned a 2003 S500 and currently have a 2003 E500, the 5.0L isn’t the same as a 5.5L, doesn’t make anywhere near the same power with exhaust and tune lol. I’ve owned and know these cars better than most.
@@dvw2119 Thanks for replying. I am try to figure out what I need to get the front e55 brakes on my e500 4matic. I appreciate all the help you can give.
@@mrmatthewpaul you have to have the brake hose custom made and the rotors. Biggest rotor u can buy off shelf that will fit are from a ml55 but its only 350mm. About 3/4 of a inch smaller then what u need. After that u have to have the spindles drilled by a machine shop. Ur stock bolts are 14mm thickness. The amg bolts are 15mm. I know it seems like a small amount but the metal is extremely hard. I tried doing it my self and gave up after the 4th drill bit.
SHEEEEESHHH. That shit hits
The 2003 Mercedes Benz E55 was the car that started the horsepower wars with the sedans. Same car near about. Great car
The wagons actually out perform the sedans. I don't know how they did it but they do.

This guy is full of BS lol. He said it makes 350hp to the ground lol. It’s a N.A. 5.0L that only made 302 crank HP… he has zero dyno proof too…
Man that thing is bad ass!
Hillarious camera and cameraman !!!
Good video -- cool owner.
Clean.

What did you have to modify to get the headers to fit?

What mode was needed to get the e55 brakes on?
Took a ton of work trying to figure out especially the front. Rear was easy.

What tune is he running
I was running a custom tune from Tony over at race IQ. Dude is fantastic.
