One thing I like about reviews of this guitar is that there is no talking (maybe just a little). Just enjoying the beautiful sound. Btw. mine is coming next week!
@@hafizmendes4066 Both does fine, it's not really about the guitar but skill and a good setup. From the internet u can sww people around saying dreadnaught are for strumming and flat pick, orchestra are for figerstyle, auditorium in the middle. But in reality, it really comes down to your own prefence, what sound do u like the most, bassy, midrange, treble? It's not like u're not allowed to play fingerstyle on a dreadnaught, someone else like the bassier tone from a bigger body shape. But to my ears from side by side listening, the Gold A8 has lil bit more sustain compared to A6. Both are same shape and size, works great for anything, and yes fingerstyle too that u're concerned about. U wont regret with either choice
just bought mine today...can't wait to get it here! I own both the Cort Gold D6 and 06, both are absolutely stellar instruments! I can not recommend them highly enough!!!
I just put one on layaway at my local store. I had such a hard time picking between the 06 and the a8 they had in stock. What is your preference between the two you have and why? Which one would you get, if you could only get one. I was comparing it to the taylor 312ce. To me, its a hard choice between them. Price is a big difference.
8FunGuy8 Hey man. I own the A8, O6, and D6, and they are all awesome. If I had to keep one, it'd be the O6. I have a few drednaught guitars, and another concert style. The A8 is phenomenal as well, but because it's Pao Ferro back and sides, it has much different harmonics. I prefer the Mahogany, but they are both killer on these Corts. You really can't lose with whatever you decide. The A8 has the benefit of electronics and a mic in the soundhole, so if that's a thing, you may want to consider that. The O6/D6 are not acoustic/electric, so f you need to play live or record, you would need to mic them up. Edit: I also like the smaller body size of the O6.
@@JackTheRabbitMusic Thanks for the reply. I really enjoyed playing the o6, but I wanted the electrics, so i went with the a8. I really like both, but keep questioning which one I enjoyed playing the most. The o6 was brighter, and I liked the sound, looks, and options more with the a8. But for some reason, the o6 seemed a little easier to play. I was told by the store owner, that the string were different on the o6 because they had changed them, and if I used the same strings, the a8 would be just as easy. I have 5 other guitars, and the only other guitar that played this easy to me, was my Gibson les paul hp, but that is a whole different animal.
Sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know of a way to get back into an instagram account? I somehow lost the password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
i own one and it's really great ...i dont like the stock strings so i've replaced it with cheap one ... olympia brand ags -570 ...test for fun (i have martin n daddario non coated string ad backup ) i like how it ressonate sounds .... i've tested the pickups on the fishman loudbox mini at my local shop and woww... i'm stunned by how good it is sound ... really2 impressed ...
Nihal Nayak really low n good ... no fret buzz whtsoever ... easy to play n don't need my thumb to press hardly ... dpend on wht string u use ... is use the 10's .... stock come with 12 ...
I thought Pau Ferro back/side, which is closed to Rosewood, would give more bass and deeper sound than Mahogany back/side. Well, it seems to be the opposite - this one sounds so bright and the A6 with Mahogany sounds warmer. Man, I really want one of these gold series Cort.
Been paying one since 18 months and has a great sound. Best acoustic I have bought in recent times. Bright and decent amount of bass as well. Only point to remember is this is a GA size and slightly larger lower bout than the O8
Rosewood gives more bass and also more treble compare to mahogany (which has a more flat response). This sounds has brighter also deeper compare to A6. To me D8 has the best mix of tonal complexity. A8 is brighter for sure.
Although the bridges on these are a great design with the step down ensuring good break angle. They have a buzz making flaw. The string break angle from the saddle to the pin entry point is interrupted by the step down itself. Particulary on the bottom and high E because of the way it curves. . It you look at them sideways you can see two break angles or just touching depending on the original set up of the saddle. Lowering the saddle makes it worse. I solved this problem on my A8 by sanding little rounded slots so the break angle is clear from top of the saddle to the entry of the pin slot. I sanded them evenly on all six strings so it looks like they were meant to be there,,, Of which they were meant to be there! Great guitar though.
Thank you for the sound sample. Please suggest which out of Cort Gold A6 / A8 should I go for? As I cannot compare sound of both these guitars locally at my place.

A6 sounds bassy and A8 sounds brighter. Both are great.

@@sparkelius Have you personally compared its sound with A6's? I think these guys have mic-ed the 6 and the 8 series differently.
