Only found the channel recently as I've been recollecting, but I have to say: This set (and I'd argue Magus to a lesser degree) would have been improved by a small amount of Mattel slime in orange or yellow or whatever. The way the mouth is channeled along with the pot just oozes potential(apologies for the pun) and I'd say that the prison in Magus's back along with the grating also leans to this. In addition, I wish that the eyes on this thing hadn't been the little painted slits but the open spots on the sides of his head. If they'd been angled facing forward, I think the effect would have been a lot better.
I bought magus as an adult and its one of my fav toys I own (and i have alot of different toys!). I also love the header and box card art for this line
youtube did not remind me that this review was out. glad I went through my subscriptions. never knew about the sword being used as a flamegout till this vid.
This is so great, I was a huge mighty max fan when I was a kid and a micro set fan in general. Totally had that snake monster and shark head. I still have them I just need to clean em up and find all the tiny pieces lol I like your channel friend good stuff!
Happy to share :) I really like these figures. I've reviewed Pharaoh Phang and Cybot Battle Warriors too.. Not to mention the TMNT Raphael Playset from the 90's. Haha, At this point in my life, I know way too much about 90's micro-playsets :P But I have a lot of fun reviewing these things. Thanks for sticking around and watching them!
I did some research and I think these came out in 1996, which explains why I was unaware of them. By then I was a bit out of the age range and had moved on.
The plot thickens. I was thinking that maybe they didn't see distribution in my country, but nope: the wikipedia page has the (hilarious!) localized names for the playsets, so they must have come out. Weird that i didn't see them in stores or catalogues.
This was always my least favorite Battle Warrior figure. Well, he's tied with Battle Conqueror for that. I just wasn't too impressed with them. The ones I liked were Pharaoh Phang, Double Demon and Cybot (or "Megahert" as he was called here). Generally, though, I wasn't too into these; they tried to repeat the success of Magus and they just didn't work. Not only was there just no room for anything resembling a decent play area, and worst of all is so many of the accessories are needed for both the monster figure AND the villain, but only one can use it at a time.
Oh yeah, I know what you mean. There's something I just, really like about some of these designs. They're not perfect, especially all the issues with playability, but the big figures usually looked pretty cool :) All put together.

Hey! Thanks for swinging by. Good luck finding those tiny pieces, haha!
Every time I hear about this set it’s always someone’s brother
Time I hear about the scent it’s always somebody Brother that had the set
A magus set with lava lord and a lava beast would be amazing (would’ve) 😂. I love warmonger too.
love it !
I'd never seen one of the Battle Warriors opened up before.

I was going to mention the Raphael one. Apparently they're still making Micro Mutants stuff for the current series.
Thanks for thanking me!
Nice :)
Wow
I've never seen any of these sets.
Oh, well, happy to share them with you :P Always loved these ones as kids. Something about having a big transforming action figure I guess.

1994 from my research for this particular set. I don't Mighty Max survived into 1997. Wikipedia says the line/cartoon ceased in 1996.

Wow thats a weird looking set... But i dig it :)
Haha, it's all drippy :P Thanks for tuning in Ryan!
