I never had this one! But knew of it haha. I have a few from when I was a kid and have just recently started to look at them and thought about collecting them too, and I recently bought a complete set and boxed Storms Dragon Island. I alllwaaays wanted one when I was a kid and it's my holy Grail now haha. Count me as Subscribed mate! Cheers for all the Mighty Max reviews!
this is a great set, thanks for the review. do you know if the dragon islan playset has sound? i cant find any reviews that suggest it makes sounds. but the old tv advert makes it look like it does..thanks again. keep up the good work mate. its helped me alot in my search to get the conplete MM collection!
As a fan of Mighty Max (both toys and tv show) and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, I still think it's awesome that the toyline creators had Max go against Captain Nemo. It suits Mighty Max lore to have Nemo return as a vengeful sea zombie. I also like that Nemo's new Nautilus submarine is a mixture of biological and mechanical. I'm particularly a fan of the cartoon episode adaptation, which portrays the Nautilus as a mechanical giant nautilus/squid. I do think that the concept of Max vs. Nemo could use more development storywise in both versions, because the original Captain Nemo in both 20,000 Leagues and Mysterious Island is such a complex, fascinating, and scary character in his own right. If Max was propelled into the plot of 20,000 Leagues and was able to defeat Nemo's crew and sink the Nautilus, Nemo's brain would probably explode. It's a shame that a giant squid playset never made, nor was was there a Beowulf-themed playset.
