@@Military_base01 It looks promising, But I'm being cautious until we get more progress. After what happened with UT: Nihilism, I didn't look at your videos for new undertale fan games as much as I used to(I still do a little).
I don't think it's fair to view stuff that way, it's unnecessary paranoia in my opinion. Sure, there are some bad people who ruin projects, but that's just a very small minority which we can't seem to forget about or stop making jokes on. You are entitled to your own decisions, nonetheless, I do believe it is a bad way of viewing fan projects.
@@Military_base01No, You're right and I'm sorry. We should give various undertale fan games a chance and enjoy them if we like them , Which I will start getting back into. I'm just tired of seeing great UT fan games ruined because of bad creators and then we wonder why a bunch of AUs only get a Sans battle and nothing more.
One of the things I love most about this is how RPGMaker it is. It has the ethereal atmosphere and art style of OFF and Hylics, with the sprite artstyle of Space Funeral and the menu system being deliberately reminiscent of old RPG games, including the default RPGMaker style. The fight against Asgore looks a like like the fight against Enoch from OFF, down to having to tire him out to win. Rik is a lot like the Batter in persoanlity, but facially he resembles Philip or Wayne.
*Swapfell: I Still Hate You* is a beautiful fangame combining Undertale, Deltarune and OFF. I appreciate how this game was different presenataion wise and atmosphere wise. Not only does it have Off vibes the storytelling is very interesting. I'm glad the No Mercy route wasn't pure evil (At least Not Yet) and Rik is a simple human who has honor. He seems to not mind being in controlled of the player since he asked us. And perhaps he knows he's in a video game. As for the gameplay while its still Undrrtale the combat combines Deltarune as well. The colors are nice. The beauty of the game is both surreal and trippy which I love aesthetic like that. And the monster designs are really unique. Now for Asgore. Easily one of my favorite Asgores to date besides Negativetale or Underfell or TS! Underswap. His attacks are cool, his design is very intimidating and I love the shadowy face hiding his emotions. Because we never got a real story for him its likely we have to figure out his story. So here is my theory. If this story follows the original Undertale where Chara met the Dreemurr Family then Asgore is ultimately tragic here. If Chara perished then that means Asriel perished too but unfortunately they didn't become Flowey. Which means they're gone. Which is why the crib represented Asriel's lost innocence. The blocks could've been Asriel and Chara playing together. The three heart charm could've been the Dreemurr Family's connection before everything fell apart. And the feather line...could it mean Asgore and Toriel fell off but worse? And the tomb while we don't know the late person it seems as if Asgore lost his remaining sanity. As for Dementia being symbolized1 I have two theories. Toriel is not seen in this fangame at all. Which means Toriel left or passed away. Maybe Toriel is the one suffering from dementia and that is why Asgore is more dark now? Or the dementia could likely symbolize metaphorically is Asgore wanting to forget his burdens and losing himself. He doesn't want to remember the loss of his family but he uses it as a petty excuse to treat his monsters horribly. Now I do not think the real Asgore would ever do this to his fellow monsters but if there was a possibility where everything went to rut possibly. I'm excited on the next monsters shown here and I wonder what they will be like. Would Undyne be a knight templar that is crazed and hypocritical? Would Alphys be a mad scientist or no? Would Sans be a cruel judge? Who knows and that's why I love this fangame!
I'd like to point out that the tomb saying "their last words were gibberish" could be someone killed by asgore, probably chara i believe, because of Rik's "My words are nothing but gibberish"
The artstyle has a certain mixture of different games artstyles. Like OFF’s character designs, DELTARUNE’s background art, and YUME NIKKI’s environment.
It's definitely not what I expected, when I heard SwapFell, I thought about Kkhopang's Swapfell (which is one of my favorite AUs). It's got an abstract and liminal feel to it, a great atmosphere, though it almost doesn't feel like a Deltarune/Undertale fangame, like Ribbit, It's a thing of it's own. I think It's a bit round around some edges, but it's only a demo so it's to be expected, and overall it's a pretty great fangame. Oh and also the OST slaps
Rik feels like hes fitting in the Batter's shoes here in this fangame. His role is to eradicate every "evilness" pretty much by what the amulet has been pointing at.
I have absolutely adored this AU ever since the soundcloud posts, and I hope to see this AU shed light on Space Funeral (a massive inspo on the au) as that is also one of my personal fav games ever, but very very glad to see videos on this!!!
So I just went in and played this game completely blind and I have never been so confused yet so desperately wanting more at the same time. This feels like if you let the Cruelty Squad dev make a Swapfell fan game and it’s incredible.
@@mauro27279 This is true, but these are also the only 2 (ig 3 if you count Overtime) completed fullscale fangames in like 9 years of this fandom existing. 99% of UT fangames are battle fangames vs Sans, Papyrus, or someone in their role in an AU. Also I forgot to mention not only does it have Off vibes but Space Funeral vibes. Space Funeral had an eerie and surreal aesthetic with the colors. All of them are self righteous hypocrites who hurt others justifying their actions as defenders. She might have spells like Asgore here and her Undying form would be intimidating. Now for the next one. Since this is medieval perhaps Alphys could be a plague doctor/witch doctor to be honest. She might be regretting her experiments involving the amalgamates. But she experiments more and more to suit her desires and knowledge. It's the only thing she has now. Would Alphys be a boss here? Maybe unlikely but Mettaton could be a robotic automaton she controls or no.... I feel the skeleton brothers will appear but I'm unsure on them. I see Sans be the judge who condems people not through justice but judgment. Sans could be a wild card like in the original Undertale or not. I'm unsure about Papyrus. As for Toriel I'm unsure what happened to her. Considering the hints maybe the game doesn't have Toriel because she passed away. Or maybe she is still alive but she's not the same. Maybe she might be a crazed mother who is unstable over grief and takes away children from other monsters thinking its her. Thinking its Chara and Asriel. We do not know much about Rik but I feel they were tasked to defeat and apprehand monsterkind. Perhaps they knew monsterkind needed to be cured from it. Or like The Batter from Off are they tricking us or not? Who knows but I cannot wait to see more of this Swapfell take. Undertale AUs are getting more creative and refined. I like that!

I really like that, because Inverted Fates also has that vibe (though in the endgame only) People talked about how Asgore fight is similar to Enoch fight. @@nisor123friend inside me
this guy glazed as if there were no tomorrow
It has potential but it's pretty unpolished in its current state
I can agree with that
wdym by unpolished
@fearRa1n
Attack balancing is pretty bad at times. A good amount of unfair patterns, especially in the Asgore fight
The overworld, imo, is way too linear. A lot of rooms that are just basic hallways.
The puzzles are uninteresting for the most part
@@fearRa1n For example try to no hit Asgore once he brings out Cabeira. Unless you’re basically a pro player and intricately know how to manipulate the worm you’re going to take guarantee damage
Fights are look like a combination of deltarune and earthbound
Bro think he roulx kaard 22:42
