I canned something like this years ago, but used cooked roast and added chopped potatoes and used what our ancestors always used corn starch or a lil flour and the longer it sat in the jars the better it got, yum it was so good.
Just subscribed. Got lots of meat on clearance when there were no shoppers in grocery store. Just put it in the freezer and now that I have more time I'm looking to make instant meals. Thankyou
Oh thank you so much for subbing and watching ! Hope you find some helpful recipes. I have a batch of beef I need to can up too . Think I have a recipe in mind. Happy canning :)
Thank you going to get clear gel so I can get my stew meat canned love the fact that this will be such a easy starter for so many things including my carne guisada
I order mine on Amazon . The Hoosier farms brand . You want the cook type , not instant . 10.99 on amazon and wal mart for that big container . Amish stores have it much cheaper if you have that available in your area
Yes I do , I think turkey stew, pie fillings , and I am editing ( if you can all it that lol ) chicken pot pie filling . I can't remember others. I use the clear jel a lot , love it
I’ve noticed that when I’ve done a huge grocery haul and packed my kitchen freezer and refrigerator that it makes a funny sound for a few hours. Shouldn’t happen, but it does unfortunately, even when you have a very expensive one :(
Well....the gov would say no don't use it. However , and this is what I would do, not saying anyone should do what I do. If I were out of clear jel, I would use cornstarch

Sounds great! It's a good one to have on hand
You could have canned the extra broth for extra gravy later.
What's in your seasoning mix and I couldnt see what was in the bottle
The house seasoning ? It is just what I pretty much use in everything , garlic powder , onion powder and S&P
Oh the bottle was maggi , I was out of kitchen bouquet . It was just to make it darker

Where do you buy clear jel?
I order mine on Amazon . The Hoosier farms brand . You want the cook type , not instant . 10.99 on amazon and wal mart for that big container . Amish stores have it much cheaper if you have that available in your area
@@FannyUrbanhomesteader thank you
@@marybrimhall1461 You're welcome :)
Can I can my beef stew with vegetables that I browned meat with wonder flour?
Yes , just don't use the flour as a thickener
Can without thickener. When using put liquid into pot add thickener. Cook until desired thickness, add meat and heat. No worries.
What cut of beef did you use. Cant wait to try it
I use chuck roast or any cheap cut of beef you can find these days . Happy canning :)
Can I use a large canner on a glass or ceramic stovetop?
I use my glass top for canning with no issues , just don't drag or drop the canner on it . I have been canning on a glass top for 25 years
do you have more clear jel recipes ?? I am 'trying' to switch over to that,Thank You
Yes I do , I think turkey stew, pie fillings , and I am editing ( if you can all it that lol ) chicken pot pie filling . I can't remember others. I use the clear jel a lot , love it
@@FannyUrbanhomesteader any jam/jelly (and sugarfree) recipes ??
If I just wanted to use salt, how much of salt do I add per pint jar?
I'd use 1/2 a tsp , you can always season more when you open it . Thank you for watching ! :)
Looks amazing! Yum
Thanks Denise :)

Yeah it is a weird thing. Never thought about it just being filled up. And it was a procier one too . Thanks for the , food for thought lol ;)
So I can’t use cornstarch for canning?

in 'my' limited experience regular cornstarch CAN (has for me) turns into a big gooey 'turd' looking clot, not at all appetizing
Looks delicious!🙂
Thank you :)
