      You can't have it both ways. You can't be a proponent of home rule (power of the state) and have an all powerful Federal Government at the same time. The Founding Fathers limited the power of the Federal Government for exactly what we are all dealing with today. A bloated all-powerful, tyrannical, Federal Government instead of the "home rule" of the states. The Founding Fathers envisioned the states to hold the true power and expected them to be independent of one another. Personally speaking, if, for instance, California, the New England states ,Illinois, and anyone of the rest of the states wants to prohibit gun rights, I don't give a Damm. As a Floridan, I will elect not to go there, or if I do need to go there I will operate under its laws and rules. It's all about MORE HOME RULE, AND LESS RULE AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL. Time to downsize the federal government... PERIOD!

    I'm an over the road truck driver. I have a ccw from my home state. I'm also a USCCA member. I travel across many state lines on a daily basis. The reciprocity map in the USCCA app is very useful to me. I've pretty much memorized it. Including the duty to inform. So this would be awesome. Not having to worry about state lines anymore. I carry 2 guns a semi auto and a revolver. I have locking cases I use when I'm in a restricted state. This would make daily life easier.
    Being a truck driver. It's very dangerous. My biggest concern is driving through cities at night. And trying to find a safe place to park for the night. Most of the general public are unaware of the amount of violent crimes that were subject too. The main stream media never reports on trucker incidents. Well sometimes. But most are never in the news.
    In the trucking world via popular social media apps that's where you'll see this. On average I'd say there's 4-6 per month.

      A friend was a long haul trucker and had to stop in Laredo one night. When he got up early to start his pre-trip, 3 guys came from his blind spots, beat him with a tire iron, and left for dead. Another trucker intervened and saved his life. He spent a week in ICU and had to be flown home. No reason a trucker, or anyone else, shouldn't be able to defend themselves no matter where they are.

      I am an otr driver as well. Any law that goes against my rights means nothing to me. I have always carried while on the road, regardless of what state I was in. I will not disarm because some state thinks my rights don't exist in their backward ass minds. I have had to park in some of the most questionable places from LA to the NE corner of Maine. In total I've had to draw down on someone 4 times while on the road. The 5th time I've had to pull my gun, I was playing "local" for a hardware store transferring stuff between stores. Employee at a different store tried attacking me with a knife right in front of the store manager and I pulled my gun. Needless to say he ran away screaming like a 5 year old and I lost my job for workplace violence. That's fine, I will wear that like a badge of honor.

    • @r2db
      @r2db Рік тому +7

      A use of force where possession of a firearm successfully ended a confrontation without significant injuries to any party would not be widely publicized because it would be too counterproductive to the overall goal of disarming citizens. Even the media that supposedly is aligned with the right to keep and bear arms, it would be a mere footnote in reporting. Carrying as an employee is likely going to be strictly prohibited due to the insurance implications, which means that for the most part it is only the owner-operators who are carrying. I doubt that the USCCA insurance would also cover an action against my LLC, but in that case it might just be better for me to pierce my own corporate veil as without me the company functionally doesn't exist and a good chunk of my personal savings is tied up in my equipment owned by the company. Other than giving myself a decent alias to use on a business card, at least in this particular case, there is absolutely no benefit of having the LLC. Insurance in trucking is expensive enough without investigating a plan that also specifically covers the company in case of use of force in self-defense.

Good, salt of the earth people, who found paradise in Northern CA. i'm old enough to remember Californians bitterly complaining about the east coast transplants who wanted to change our state. • @Tzonarin
      @Tzonarin 10 місяців тому

      The gun grabbing left does not believe that 2A is absolute; they only believed it applied to the militia which is now the National Guard. Sadly, we allowed the slow decay of our rights and now have to fight hard to get them back. I also do not think it's a coincidence that the worst states in the union for crime are also the ones with the most restrictive gun laws - because the Founders recognized that 2A wasn't just for militia purposes, but rather, for personal defense.
      The government wants you to believe that you NEED them to protect you - that you're not competent enough to do that yourself. That's one of many reasons why they want your guns. They also realize that an armed citizenry is the foundation of a free society.
      National reciprocity needs to go to SCOTUS. And the concept of "assault weapon" needs to be deleted from the vernacular - it's arbitrary and subjective.

    The time has come to disolve many of these unconditional State and Federal agencies and reign in runaway Government. Centure or remove these judges that refuse to adhere to the Constitution and can't seem to comprehend clear English language and definitions of words. The Constitution needs no reinterpretation or legalese to confuse what is clear and simple language of inalienable rights and enlighten them on what enumerated exactly means!

    It's my opinion that a lawsuit needs to be levied against both the New York State Police and the New York City Police gun license division because these agencies violate the 4th amendment the First Amendment as well as the Second Amendment.
    Let me try to explain when you make an application to the New York City Police Department for example or even that of the New York State Police what they're going to do is your background check you are required to provide any social media accounts that you may have had presently or in the past for character analysis where does it say you gave up your first amendment where does it say you have to also give up your fourth amendment what does your political views have to do with you being conferred a Firearms carry permit as long as you have met the federal requirement that you are not a prohibited person to own a firearm through a standard background investigation this is one of the arguments I feel should be brought before a court of law because in the past when a person made an application for a gun permit you did a background check and that was it another thing that I find really a pain in the ass for lack of a better word is the 16-hour requirement in New York for training apparently the standard National Rifle Association pistol certification course is not adequate enough to meet New York State and New York City training requirements which I think is ridiculous you're not preparing for war you're not preparing for a career in law enforcement or private security you just want to have the means to protect yourself your loved ones from the escalating crime in New York this is why there needs to be a lawsuit to address this

    "The right to bear arms" means just that.
    It means we are allowed to keep our limbs with 5 fingers intact.
    and pretty soon, they wanna take that away; and next they will come for our legs.

    I live in Massachusetts and it's run by left wing nutjobs. Fortunately for me, I carry under LEOSA/ HR-218. With that said, ANY person who is of age and not a convicted felon should be able to carry nationwide. After all, carrying a gun is a right and driving a car is merely a privilege. Yet, you don't need a separate driver's license to cross state lines. Lastly, cars kill way more people than guns and the vast majority of gun violence involves convicted felons who can't legally carry to begin with.

    CA, OR & WA all have the same prohibitions for non-residents, except OR & WA have exceptions for neighboring state residents who work in their state with reason. This should absolutely not be allowed because that flagrantly opposes the spirit of the 2nd amendment.

    While I completely agree that you should be able to carry anywhere in the country, but MA does issue non-resident LTC's. They made it more difficult, requiring an in-person application and ANNUAL renewal with a fee every time of $100, instead of $100 for a 5-year LTC for residents.
    And, please, enough with the clickbait video titles. Cheapens the channel.

Please just stick to the real fight and the real fact. Tell me, why aren't USCCA members part of the exemption from the pistol brace rule? Because, you're just building an organization (think NRA) you're not actually fighting the fight. Thank you, though, I am grateful for insurance.

    Even if national reciprocity becomes law, you had better think twice before travelling cross country with a gun in your car. In states such as New York, New Jersey, California and Illinois, you will be arrested and will face a costly trial, at which you will be found guilty, imprisoned and heavily fined. Yes, you can appeal and if the case reaches the Supreme Court, you will be exonerated. But at what cost? You will be out tens of thousands or more in legal fees, you will have lost your job while in jail, and your nerves will be a shamble. Better to map a route that goes around all red states.

    Concealed carry permitting by itself unconstitutional per opinions by SCOTUS since in 1791 there was never a rule, restriction or need for a permit to have a weapon on my person as I move from colony or settlement to another territory.
    I don’t need a permit to talk or have a permit to trial by jury. Driver’s license is not a right, but it is honored in every state. Right to bear Arms is a right and subject to state and local restrictions by some miracle.

    It is just amazing to me that the federal government is able to make any gun law. Thats not the jurisdiction of the federal government. Their job is to commerce and the border not legally making any gun law. I have read Federalist 51 and James Madison states that their is to be no gun regulations. So why is there gun regulations? If someone does something bad with one there are laws against that but to try and ban all guns is insane

    This title isn't accurate - you cannot carry across every state legally without a permit. I agree that the ruling in this Federal District Court is interesting and important, it is pretty meaningless outside of MA as it isn't even a Federal Appeals Court ruling. I wish people would stop titling videos like this (yes, I recognize it is click bate to generate views), as it is deliberately misleading and anyone that doesn't understand what happened here may falsely believe that there is now national reciprocity on carry permits. There isn't and believing so could get you into serious legal trouble (if you get caught).

    I'm not a lawyer and so I don't know the intricacies of the law, but I've long felt it was just a matter of time that national reciprocity becomes law. The reason being that eventually someone was going to be arrested, and the case would eventually be taken to the top. The back and forth of opinion decisions, the case law that is established even if a case doesn't get taken to the highest courts, etc... It would all contribute to the point that either Congress acts (albeit reluctantly) and makes reciprocity legal, thereby cleaning up this mess. Or, the courts decide the final say. The argument is solid, no other rights that we possess as US Citizens are subject to our location. I would be interested to see what comes of this. I think I'm going to go read the decision in this matter now and see what the judge thought about it.
