    It still boggles my mind how much time, work and dedication it takes to become this skilled at martial arts. My own instructor has been training for 24 years and he's about to test for his 6th degree, I can't imagine how much time it takes a master, let alone a grand master to get to the point they're at

    Gran saludo a Eterno gran maestro Heang Hu Lee, yo Matías Spaccesi recuerdo el día que recibí su foto autografiada dedicada a mi, pude practicar taekwondo con diferentes maestro me siento agradecido a todos ellos, Sr Miguel Ángel de Alzas, Sra Adriana Britos, Sr Alejando Juncos y Sr Edgar Acosta , tremendo agradecimiento por todo lo aprendido, valores, disciplina y técnica, sobretodo creo q si en Argentina más personas practicarán taekwondo serían mejores personas, dado q el taekwondo cultiva la mente, el cuerpo y el espíritu. En unos años mi hija empezará ese camino también. Saludos a mis maestros.

      @@makemoneyrelax I was the opposite- My knees were terrible when I first started and I needed to use braces and do a series of stretches and other exercises before class so I didn't hurt myself. Now I'm able to go without the braces (most of the time)

      Michael, I believe that one receives the title of 'Grand Master' once they've achieved all belt classifications, and there are no more 'titles'/dans to earn. One becomes the teacher's teacher. I could be wrong on this score. I've never really asked a high ranking sensei that question.

    • @razveck
      @razveck 8 років тому +1

      +Michael Brant Meh, you might have a point, but the ATA only has one grandmaster (now there are also 2 honorary ones, but still only one grandmaster).

      @@zenmeister451 in the ata, you get the title of grand master by going through all colored belts and all black belts, soon ho lee is a 9th degree which is the highest you can go, but that's not all, you have to test for the rank of grand master, so once you are a 6th degree, you can test for master, once 7th, you can test for senior master, once 8th, you can test for chief master, and once 9th, you can test for grand master

      Really? These guys are in their 60's you fucking keyboard warrior bitch. In their prime, if they had put in the effort I wouldn't be at all surprised if they could make it in the modern UFC if they trained in a variety of styles and not just Taekwondo. Chief master Clarke might not look very impressive right now, but in his day he was a fucking beast. If they had the UFC back then, and he put his mind to it he could've done it. These guys have spent decades practicing their craft, and they are far more worthy of respect than you. Fuck off.

    These ATA guys are the biggest bunch of hacks and cons.

    • @cinimatics
      @cinimatics 10 років тому +7

      *****
      No it's true. They overcharge, they hand blackblets to small children who are hardly old enough to grasp what being a black belt means, their tests are stupid easy and they have no standards, they make their students test twice a month for like 50 bucks a pop, and where i live, they tested everyone in the school and charged everyone, then immediately following the test they announced the school was closing. Its just expensive babysitting as far as I'm concerned.
      If that makes me a troll, then UGGABUGAWOGA!

    • @cinimatics
      @cinimatics 10 років тому +6

      Hacks and cons are found everywhere. Don't hate on the traditional arts. Just the hacks in them. There's plenty of legit teachers out there and plenty of effective arts. Even TKD can be effective if taught properly. The problem with ATA is that they charge high rates and hand black belts to kids with skill sets that get laughed out of reputable schools.

    • @AlejitoBesada

      Ballowall ATA is a reputable organization it just depends on the school you go to coming from experience doing taekwondo for 8 years in two different countries and 3 different organizations i have to say overall they where all really great but ATA was my favorite I am not trying to put ideas in your head or shame you or anything everyone is free to have their own opinion all i say is that you please don't judge all of us in the ATA because you didn't like just one group or school.
