Wrong. The case would have never seen the light of day had Cohen not squealed on Trump. Otherwise, Trump would have pardoned him like he did Stone and Bannon, and this case would have been a distant memory by now.
Fortunately, ‘squealing’ as you put it, involved revealing facts which forcefully demonstrated illegal activity from Donny One Term.
