I think King Brodd is pretty cleverly designed in that although they can't make everything new, his model is designed in such a way that it brings your attention to his unique options. Him having the same belly armour as the Warstomper isn't as impactful if his big hammer is in the way, and his upper body (where all the unique parts are) is designed in such a way as to bring attention to it and away from the lower body. Shame they obviously didn't have enough room on the sprue with the Beast-Smasha to do something similar.
I love the mega-gargant kit for i own two of them but I have a small issue with its legs as there's only one pose for the now five models. It tends to get visually repetitive after building only two models (unless you cover them with armor and stuff). I'd wished they added at least one option for that problem and the price raise. Otherwise it's one of my favorite kits and I can't wait to get some King Brodd bits, especially the gremlins thingies 😊 I also love the new arms' pose for the big hammer!
For the next book they get (in 4th) I'd love for gargant Matriarch, an entirely new separate kit. She could be a storyteller grandmother of sorts, and be a wizard type in-game!
They're expensive and a real slog to build and paint bc they're so big but so intricate. It's probably more the first reason because even though it's only like 5-6 models you're still spending upwards of 700 bucks on the models. The brodd and other megagargant kits are $210 from GW, and that's not counting the paint or anything special with the bases.

In reality the kit is an upgrade sprue. On the one hand that's fine, on the other they missed the opportunity to fix the most criticized element of the mega gargant kit, namely the monopose legs. If they had included alternative legs as an option it could have revitalised the whole army
I love the Mega Gargant model, it's amazing. But this Grodd model just seems like another lazy, corner-cutting approach from GW. The legs are the same throughout all the Megas, considering the cost at over £100 there should be more difference. Especially with this King/leader model, its not different, dynamic enough all around. Even the boxes in the expensive, centre-piece models in general come in are made less premium and far cheaper than the old multi-layered, art-laden ones of a couple of years ago. Not that, thats important but another annoying sign of cost-cutting despite the model prices continuously rising.
They did the same thing with the imperial knight kit... rebundle the new sprue with it and force everyone to buy the whole deal everytime you want a new knight\gargant. Looking at the store, looks like that's what they did. Can't by the less expensive kit without the upgrade sprue anymore.
The most special thing about this sprue (not kit) is that it exemplifies both the laziness and incredible greediness of GW. A planned release, that tries to force people to buy another monopose megagargant.
I just wish they'd provide more posable leg options same way they did with the Sylvaneth Treelord kits: optional KNEES and ankles 😅👍 Sylvaneth rule, the gargants are awesome but they suffer from decades of single pose legs

I hate that it's the same body... more than half is the same mold... I couldn't collect an army of them. With vehicles and mechs I'm ok with upgrade sprues (we build those in factories) but for humanoid figures... it's just not for me. I just hate repeating kits. Glad you like it and happy for everyone else that does.
Sorry to say that GW is really setting themselves up for people to recast the body and just make all 5 variants from a single box… What they should have done was make a box for each mega, so that if you wanted the beast-smasher, you have to buy the box to get it.
While it is an option, it's not a perfect substitute. It's a whole other hobby in itself and will require a ton of time to learn the nuances of your particular printer. However if you want a bunch of stuff for dnd you really can't go wrong since you can print just about anything. Just keep in mind the consumables, and printer maintenence.
I think they just went total over board with the pricing here. I mean the Big Boys are already heavily overpriced but this is just silly. Why make the funny, simple, big army like, the most expensive? It makes no sense to me.

They also don't have that much of a new player appeal, because painting them seems like a real task... As for the normal giants, I pointed out that they are heavily overpriced. The price point for this army is just bonkers stupid. Edit: Just for fun I ran the math. If I calculate the kruleboyz that I have (2k) just from the website of GW I'd have to pay around 540€ including the two most expensive models of that army. For a giant army with 3 megas and 3 babies I'd have to pay 640€. Now keep in mind that I picked high for the kruleboyz and that in fact I only paid around 250€ for them in reality. I mean with some good hunting you might get the giants down a bit but never below 400€, as no one is silly enough to buy these kits in the first place. And then you have 6 models. If you want to change your force around this will cost a ton again. They are at least 30% overpriced. In the GW universe!
These set are wonderful, as well as I'm constantly delighted with Warhammer Age of Sigmar as well as Warhammer 40,000. But today, right now, I have decided NEVER TO GIVE MONEY to Games Workshop AGAIN. The fact is that this year they already upset me with the release of the Horse Heresy. A terrible idea that greatly harms the Warhammer 40,000. But now I found out that the "triumphant return of the old world" is not canceled, it turned out to be fake. Well, remember the date of 14.10.2022. This is the beginning of the end of all Warhammer. And it will be ruined by GW greed who want to collect money from everyone.

Absolutely multiple leg poses should have been something GW considered from the beginning of the design process.

Cool kit for sure, but damn its pricey. I have always found the mega gargant cost a real barrier to buying. Hence why I.have just one not an army

Unfortunately the pigeon-toed stance utterly ruins the kit for me. Otherwise I like the concept.

Most expensive? They're like 40k knights, you only need a couple vs a metric sh*t ton of kits in other armies.
