@Kole Fabian I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Finding your channel has been a real blessing. I'm a type 2 diabetic and never in my life did I ever think I could finally eat potatoes and have normal blood sugar numbers. My mind has been blown since since going WFPB. Each morning I keep getting surprised when I test. Been living this lifestyle change since the beginning of December and I'm down 12 pounds (slow and steady). I am grateful that I've been let in on this secret which actually started by reading Dr. Esseltyn's book. Had come across Dr. McDougals diet previously but admit I was having a hard time understanding how I could be allowed to eat starches when all the Diabetes training I've ever received said watch all carb counts and calories. Have no more than 15-40 per meal...well it is freeing being able to eat plant based carbs once you understand your body processes them differently. Grateful for what you share. Helps me learn so much. God bless.
I started the potato diet yesterday and thought I might barf. I love potatoes, but I found out quickly, all potatoes were not going to happen for me. That's for the Mary's Mini info. This is much more manageable. Potatoes with steamed broccoli? That I can do. Keep it up, kids. You guys are terrific.
Hi, you guys made me look up mary’s mini. I just realized that some 10yrs ago i did similar thing except my starch of choice was & still will be rice. I was at my heaviest of 65kg and i ate nothing but steamed white/red/brown rice+steamed veggies(sliced carrots+broccoli+cauliflower) and/or veggie soup (carrot+cabbage+leek+garlic+water topped w/ flat leaf parsley). I did that for the whole month until my weight came back down to between 55kg-57kg). It was even before i go wfpb. Some 25yrs ago while in college, whenever i was broke that was my go to meals->rice+veggies. $100 could feed me for a whole month maybe even up to 6 weeks. Thank you for sharing your quest to lose weight & to healthy land. You guys almost there if not there already.
You two are so stinkin adorable you can literally see the love and adoration you have for each other in your eyes every time you look at each other it's beautiful
Thanks for your channel. I tried keto, researched carefully, after 2 months i'd lost nothing, didn't gain but felt dreadful. WFPD 4 days in arthritis better already, so 2 months to feel crap, 4 days to feel better, guess which i am sticking with. You 2 inspire me. Xx
Only on day 2 but so appreciate your encouragement. I tried frozen potatoes O'Brien on the griddler and they weren't good - either raw or burned. I will try again with your instructions. THANKS! So fun that you blazed the trail ahead of me.
So happy you guys popped up in my YT feed - not sure why you haven't shown up sooner! I've followed the McDougalls for decades but really need to improve my vegan diet right now. Don't know why I hadn't heard of Mary's Mini - thanks so much for the introduction!
DH and I are on day 3 also. We are still having salads. We use White Balsamic Vinegar. I also cut us Comparii Tomatoes and sweet onions and put it on a baked potatoes. Yum!! Soup, baked, fries, home fries, hash browns, loving cooked cabbage, zucchini, squash, broccoli, carrots, salad, etc. Doing great!! Thank you Krocks your the best!!
That was so sweet of Jeannine to send you a book. I love The Potato Reset book. One big difference is you can have sweet potatoes along with any other potatoes. And I love her Crunch Tutorial on UA-cam.
I'm on Day 2 of Mary's Mini. So far, so good! I boiled and mashed a small bag of baby red potatoes, formed them into patties, and into the fridge they went. Yesterday for lunch, I fried one in a non-stick pan, let it get nice and crispy on both sides, topped it with a bit of salsa, and added a nice salad. Worked put quite well.
Thanks guys ! We are getting started tomorrow. We have at least one person from my husbands work doing it with us and a couple of friends ! I blew it today. They didn’t ! What the heck is wrong with me. I have to get my health back. I’m ordering books again. I had so many of AJ and McDougals but when our home burned everything went with it. It’s worth buying them again. We are still recovering from the horrific tragedy! That’s how I ended up eating crappy again. Living with other people. I’m not ungrateful at all it’s just hard. I lost all of my appliances so it just feels weird to have to start over and buy everything again. I was working then so it was easier. Now I’m home with Multiple Sclerosis and it’s just my husbands income. What a great hubby I have. He supports me in this all the way! I love watching you guys. Vegan Dads , so many great ones out there now. Hey I wonder if there is a community service that helps people get those kinds of things back again. After a fire or such. I have pics of things I had. I feel kind of like a beggar. I m a good giver but not a great receiver. I don’t want to sound like a manipulator either! I just know there is help out there ! But we didn’t have insurance and they don’t get that a Vita Mix , Etc is so important for my way of eating. We do have a new home if our own finally!! Praise God. I do appreciate all you guys do!! I would live to do some videos in before and after with my husband. I don’t think I have the courage! He does. He has some old ones of his writings on here from years ago. Take a listen Hawkeye1964 they are of a spiritual nature. But he is an amazing writer. Thanks if you do listen let me know 🥰
I often with potatoes make extra potatoes: Boiled, steamed or baked. I then invented two dishes: 1. Chinese chips Based on fries (chips) sold At a Chinese take-away. Steamed waxy potatoes Cooled and then cut up And air-fried at 200°C (400°F) For 20 minutes. 2. Roadkill potato: Take a previously cooked potato And crush it in a griddler It goes crispy And has tyre tracks Like roadkill.
@@phatmonkey11 LOL well in Ireland and the UK Fried potatoes -what they'd call chips But North Americans call fries Are so entrenched in the culture that folks Have them with EVERYTHING And expect them with EVERY kind of meal.
Thank you for doing a Livestream at a reasonable hour for European viewers. Much appreciated. So many things in the US are broadcast at the equivalent of 1AM for us!
I am doing a Mary's Mini right now. I've been wanting to do one for a while, but could not figure out how to do it with my husband. Well, he is doing his own thing for breakfast and lunch, but he's eating the same food as me for dinner to be supportive. I am starting day four today, just had my hashbrown... I'm feeling decent, but tired. I also decided to only drink water during the Mary's Mini... No coffee and no sparkling water. 😭 I've discovered hot water is not so bad. Just pretend it's really weak tea. 😂 Yesterday evening (end of day three) I started feeling a bit trimmer... Even moreso this morning. So, I'm pumped and ready to eat some more potatoes! 😁
You guys inspired me to try Mary’s Mini and I had been thinking about a griddle and I saw yours and it came yesterday, I just did my first sliced potato and it came out awesome. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, will try hash browns tomorrow. So glad you guys are doing these videos, I’ve been WFPB and needed some inspiration as I had gotten into a processed plant food rut. Thanks again!🌱💪😎
Day 4 of my second mini down 13 lbs! I lost 11 on the first one and 2 more as of this am. I just feel so good eating this way. There is something about simplicity that we all probably need.
My mom and I are doing the Mary’s mini with you guys, but just extending it one extra day because we want cocoa powder covered strawberries as an ending treat on Valentine’s Day. We are doing great so far but there are times we want a banana. I’m very grateful for you guys because watching your channel has made me want to go back to eating a whole food plant based diet after being off it for 5 years. Thank you.
Thank you so much for inspirational, how-to videos! Because you show us exactly how to eat this way, you make it very doable for all of us. Many people can get very overwhelmed with transitioning over to a whole food plant based diet, that many times they give up. You both simplify things allowing many people to be successful! I can't thank you enough.
I’m a big fan of the original Mary’s Mini from the newsletters (I prefer to include a serving of fruit a day, as the original newsletter diet allowed). I do a rice-based diet myself as I don’t tolerate nightshades very well. My go to meals are rice and apple for breakfast, cabbage, rice and mixed “California” vegetables for lunch, and stir-fried vegetables and rice for dinner. One aspect of the original diet I rarely see discussed is the importance of monotony. Eating the same meals daily to eliminate variety is an important aspect discussed in the second newsletter. This prevents overeating.
Thank you! Losing weight very slowly so I should probably do a MM but I didn't want to figure out the details. Now I have no excuses! You've given me instructions & resources so I guess I'll finish off those apples and bananas and go buy some potatoes....
Thank you for the inspiration! On day three of my first MM! So grateful for your encouragement. I was for sure on a “tomorrow” track and not going anywhere on my weight loss. Now I feel like food is loosing its power over me again and I am the boss! Doing potatoes and it’s working. Simple. Great reset.
Have joined with you doing Mary's mini! Day 5 now, and have lost 2 pounds. Definitely had some detox happening the first few days (tired, headachy) but am feeling more stable now. Appreciate you guys inspiring me to do this kick start!
I managed 3 days on the (mostly) Mary’s minis. When I realized I was skipping meals when I was hungry just so I wouldn’t have to eat more potatoes, I knew it was time to give it up. I didn’t lose any weight, I pulled a muscle carrying a big bag of potatoes home from the store, and lets just not even discuss digestion m’kay? Maybe next time around I’ll do better, but this time I think I’m just going to be a heck of a lot happier NOT doing a Marys Mini. I wish you two (and Martin the great potato mage) all the best of success on your Mary’s Mini’s quest.
Here in SW MO I am doing a modified mini. I did a full-on legit mini for 26 days in January and lost 7.7 lbs. But I am now doing savory steel cut oats in the morning and Mary's mini as normal for lunch and supper. I am enjoying potatoes and don't find it monotonous. I am blown away by the fact I'm losing weight on potatoes when previously on Eat to Live, I was so wary of them!!!
Is for the inspiration to do another Mary’s mini. Doing it right along with you and so much easier than the first one, for me. Really getting acquainted with my hunger signals. So very interesting. And thanks for all of your previous videos on the griddler. Got one a few months ago and have been really enjoying all of the hashbrown varieties available to me. Makes breakfast really interesting and a tasty delight. That and catsup! I love that this makes meal planning so very uncomplicated. Down 2 lbs as well! See you Sunday for the live stream.
You guys are such an inspiration! I started a Mary's Mini on Monday using rice instead of potatoes. There are so many types of rice, and--to me--it is so much easier to prep. Gotta admit, I get tired of scrubbing potatoes on the potato version. Best of luck to everyone starting a mini!
@@i.e.presents638 Sure. I eat rice and a variety of cooked veggies at each meal, and I snack on raw vegetables. I do eat one whole raw fruit a day, because I remember seeing an interview with Dr. and Mary McDougall that allowed for this on the Mini. I will add salsas and other compliant sauces on my rice. I've been mixing up the rices--brown, black, red, white, short grain, long grain. So far, so good! Down five pounds. Good luck to you. 👍🏻
I was thinking about doing a MM but I gave myself 1 more chance after seeing your last series on MM....I setteled on limiting myself to 100% WFPB and limit sauses to kinda cleanse my palet. I am on day 12 now and after struggling for the first 3 days I'm on a roll now. I want to go till 21 days befor adding sauses and such. I was still doing ok but noticed it was getting a bit too easy to grab something processed after the hollidays. I lost 60 pounds and I am committed to keep them off! I love following you guys, such an inspiration!
I remember finding you guys when you were just getting started. You have hit so many home runs and I'm so glad you are still doing this platform. Thank you.
I remember you commenting when we were just getting started! We appreciate the support. 😀 Also, we have no clue why we keep doing so well. We just keep getting in front of the camera and people keep liking it. 😀
Cold potato from the fridge dipped in some "Everything Bagel" seasoning and (optional) chili pepper flakes is my favorite way to eat potatoes. Simple foods are the best foods!
Wow, you guys are really growing your subs! I, am still finding my way. I have been recovering from a fall, broken wrist, surgery on said wrist, limited ability to do a lot in the kitchen for about a month plus, so easy, convenience foods that don't need much work had taken over for a while. Plus, doing grocery pick up kind of limits your creative thought process, as opposed to shopping in the store, at least for me. I so enjoy your content.
I am doing the MM along with you guys. My starch is potatoes 🥔 russets for the first 5 days and I bought yellow potatoes to prep for the final 5 days. This is my first time trying this diet and on day 4 it’s been good. I’m missing oatmeal and fruit but I’m positive I’m going to finish 10 days strong 💪
Hey! I just discovered that Great Value Shredded hash browns are also just potatoes and are obviously easier to find and cheaper than Mr. Dells! I was ecstatic when I saw this.
Just an FYI - commercially cut potatoes have been washed in a nitrate solution before freezing to keep them looking white. It is not listed in the ingredients because it isn't added, per se. I know this because my sister-in-law has severe food allergies and cannot eat frozen or dried potato products for this reason.
Yay! Loved the video, so fun to be doing it with you!!! I am laughing because you guys stress having al your starch on hand and I just looked in my cabinet to find I have NO RUSSETS! Gotta get to the store! Cant wait for Sunday!
Potatoes, Peppers, onions and mushrooms! Oh my! Now, I just need the Griddler! I have been making potato chips with the chip-tastic! Right now I am doing potatoes only for a couple weeks, then going on to do this Mary's mini, then after that it's WFPB baby! Love your videos!
One of my favorite ways to eat baked potatoes is to slice ripe tomatoes on the potato the pour over a vegan no fat ranch dressing. I started doing this in nursing school on days when there was nothing good to eat in the cafeteria, but they always had baked potatoes. So yummy!
We started on Saturday, so we are almost at 1 week. It’s going really well so far. I’m not sure when my end date will be. My favorite way is smashed potato wedges in the AF and also mashed potatoes, seasoned and then made into patties. Then you AF those as well. So good! Walmart has a dill mustard that is so amazing. Good luck guys!
Questions: 1) Is Jessica struggling with constipation again? 2) Do you eat your veggies first before eating potatoes ( to make sure you get veggies in first)?
I’m on day three of sweet potato mini. It’s my fourth mini since August 2019, although one was only 5 days long. By the way, I loved the corn mini I did, because you can use polenta, corn tortillas, frozen sweet corn, etc. Potato is good, too, and like you, I stocked up on the frozen hash browns and that was breakfast every morning. You did an awesome job of presenting how to prepare for a mini. It’s true that you should buy much more of your starchy vegetable than you think you’ll need. I’m happy to do this along with you, in camaraderie! ☺️
You guys motivated me to do my first Mary’s mini I decided to try rice because I was burned out on potato ... at first I thought I could only have brown rice I was miserable for the first two days and then I asked the group on Facebook they said I can have any kind of rice so now I’m happy and I will definitely make it to Day 10! Thanks for the motivation 😁
PlantBased SweetHeart Rice is so good with chopped cucumber, tomatoes and parsley mix in the rice with a bit of black pepper and lemon . Yummylicious 😋
I have a feeling I might have seen that and commented :P Black rice is pretty interesting as a change, and making your own WFPB sushi is AWESOME... plus I hadn't eaten rice pudding in years and I love it, so it was a nice excuse to get some desserts in for a change :P
@@plantbasedsweetheart I followed the instructions on the packet... 😳😬 I'm not that inventive a cook! When I was growing up I used to get the stuff in cans because that's all we could afford... obviously things are better now, but yeah... might have to find a proper recipe on the interwebs now that I'm going out of my way to cook from scratch!!!
I’m on day 5 and am doing well. BNV does have fabulous recipes. I did Chuck’s potato soup with green chilies and it was amazing!! Thank you for doing these videos...it is super helpful.
I’m on Mary’s mini and it’s going better now. Day 2 was the worst. I was craving a orange and bananas but I made it through the craving. It’s day 4 for me and I’m doing good.
I am doing Mary’s mini along with you and inspired by you! Day one was tough as learning to season things well like the hash browns. Once I made your mashed potato recipe things improved vastly. I have never eaten all plant based before but am definitely feeling good so far. I have went off just a little and ate a banana one day and some nuts but plan on sticking with it trying not to deviate from it. Just finished day 3 and will make a new batch of mash today. I am new to nutritional yeast as well. Fresh broccoli and salad are what I’m liking most for veg. Look forward to your live stream and will try to pop in. I discovered your channel not too long ago and just love you guys for all the great tips and help me stay motivated and thinking about food in a new way. Thank you so much 😊💕
Jenna is talking about the green box in our freezer. 😀 Jessica just grabbed a whole box of frozen veggies and we use that box to organize stuff in our freezer.
@@susannaball Aldi's is a grocery store that reduces cost by encouraging bringing your own bags etc. They stock their shelf's straight from boxes, which many of us use to carry groceries home.
You put this up exactly as I've been researching it! I thought this was your old video, so I checked the date and jumped out of my seat. I've been vegan 17 years. I went from 160 to 112 on south beach diet before going raw. I've been raw for 15 years. The last 2 years I've added cooked vegan food. I also gained 10 lbs. I dont want to go back to 100% raw to loose weight. But I think it is truly potatoes and rice that put the weight back on. I've been wanting to try this potatoe diet but I'm afraid of more weight gain. Also I'd love to be on for the stream but I'll be at the monster jam! Grandchildren's birthdays. But I'll watch as soon. As I get the chance. My question is, are my potatoes and rice causing my weight gain or is it the small amount of oil? I'm about 75% raw and 58 year old grandma. You both have done an amazing job. Keep up the good work.
I think you guys should switch up the intro. Have Brian wear a wig and MatchBox 20 shirt. Jessica could wear a plaid shirt, beard and sit higher than Brian. 😂 Yes, I have too much time on my hands. Starting my MM tomorrow. Jeff W on the MM FB group just did an OATS mini. 😲 He was surprisingly creative with it. I’m sticking to Taters! ❤️💪🏻🥔🥦
Hi Guys! Another great video. 😊 Jessica how are you feeling mentally after your struggle with sweet stuff. (Not a cute name for Brian) ha! I hope you are feeling loved and supported and that doing Mary's mini has revitalized you. 💙
I did a mini in the beginning of January as a "reset" - I pretty much microwaved or used my instant pot to cook them (not patient enough to bake them). Also Brand New Vegan's cheese sauce was great. I also found a sweet chili sauce that I really liked too. I am considering doing another one -but maybe modified to allow oatmeal in the morning - that was the one thing I missed was my usual oatmeal breakfast ;) I agree that potatoes are the most versatile starch - not sure I could do a mini on any other starch...
I have been wanting to do a mini but havnt pulled the trigger on a date for fear of gaining weight (Vegan 6 years and been within the same 10 Lbs after gaining 15 initially after going vegan) and now I know, I will start when you guys are done with your videos from yours!! Thank you Krocks :) -Do you track your calories or macros while on the diet? -Is there anything that surprised you that is non compliant? -What do you do about fruit cravings if you have them? -Would you ever do a mini with any other starch? -Do you expect to lose more weight than normal while on the diet or is it more of a reset?
I can stick my oar in here :P Tracking - Nope, not once. I tracked religiously a few years ago and it was SUCH a pain in the butt... never again. Surprising - FRUIT! And any breakfast option! Do you know how LITTLE I like hash browns? And that's all you can make with potatoes for breakfast, it feels like! Ugh... Just let me eat Muesli, Mary!!! Please!!! Cravings - Try and ignore it... eat a potato... remind myself that I barely eat fruit anyway, so holding out a few extra days and eating like, four apples on Day 11 is just fine. Other Starch - I tried a Rice Mini, and like all the others I vlogged it and put it in a playlist for easy re-watching. Rice was interesting enough, but I hit the wall a LOT faster. I can usually get to about Day 7 or 8 before I get REALLY sick of potatoes, but I think Day 5 of rice was REALLY bad... I actually wanted to try a corn Mini this time around, but Jessica convinced me to stick to potatoes. AGAIN. She keeps doing this to me. It's my own fault for calling myself the Great Potato Mage instead of something like, I dunno, a Starch Mage? Expectations - I never look on it as a reset, as such, because you can use all the sauces and cooking methods and the like. And given the results when I actually follow the rules, it's definitely more a kickstart for weight-loss or a tool to break a perceived plateau for me. I don't know the exact numbers, but I tend to lose an average of about 10lbs in the 10 days, if not more! I know Jessica is using it for a reset, and that's fine! It's certainly a lot easier to deal with than two weeks of plain baked potatoes... Hope that helped a bit! I imagine Jessica and Brian will either answer here, or save it til Sunday's live-stream :P
Martin the Great Potato Mage : Thank you for giving me your perspective I enjoyed reading it! I think Fruit is going to be a big problem for me, I have it for my first meal of the day every day and then I also snack on it 😬 And I think I agree with just Jessica to stick with potatoes it is your namesake!!!
Wonderful video, so helpful and interesting. Are you still enjoying your dinner salads w [no dressing]? Is vinegar ok? Do you have to eat potatoes with each meal or can you just have vegs? It seems a WFPB eater would not have too much trouble sticking to a MM. I'm going to suggest this to my adult kids who both would like to trim those last 5-20 lbs that never go away permanently [WGPB by day, 'sneaky vegan junk food at night' problem]. I love all your videos.
Started Marys Mini with you! Thanks for your inspiration and motivation! Do you have any recipes for salad dressings that are compliant on the Mini? Also, is honey allowed? I have a good Honey Mustard Dressing by Tesseme that’s made with only mustard and honey!
I have a question. This is something you may not know but maybe you might. I am a type 2 diabetic. When I eat lots of carbs, my blood sugar spikes and when I test for my A1-C it is high. I was doing a fast and eating a portion or meat and or bone broth about a year ago. My A1-C came down to 6.7 I did a blood test a year later and had been eating mostly no meat and my A1-C was 9.2 if you do not know, from 6-7 is normal. I love to eat beans and I start out the day with a large bowl of oatmeal with fruit and berries in it. I love to eat oatmeal, and I have for the most part given up meat except on rare occasions. I weight about 207 and want to get down to 165-170. I want to be whole food plant based and am moving in that direction, I just am not sure how to keep my blood sugar normal and eat a lot of carbs such as a lot of potatoes. If you have any ideas, I would appreciate your thoughts. I think my blood suger problem is in part due to my excess weight and that I am insulin resistant. Thanks! -Dave
Are peppers and tomatoes allowed on 'mary's mini, as they are technically both fruit?? Could you eat cabbage soup from the cabbage soup diet?? I love that stuff!! If you were to eat it with mashed potatoes on the side and do you have to eat potatoes at every meal?
@@lilivonshtup3808 cabbage soup is the soup made popular 20 odd years ago in the cabbage soup diet but eat it all the time as its so tasty and filling, this is how i've made it for years so here goes - saute 1 onion in water/veg stock till translucent, add 3 sticks chopped celery and saute couple of mins, add 3 cloves garlic saute 1 min, add seasonings, bay leave x 2, dried basil x 2 tsp, dried thyme x 1 tsp, dried oregano x 2 tsp, paprika x 2 tsp, black pepper x 2 tsp, saute 1 min, add 2 chopped carrots, 2 cups chopped mushrooms, 1 red bell pepper and one green bell pepper chopped, saute couple mins, add 2 tbsp tomato puree (paste/concentrate) and 2 tins chopped tomatoes (no salt or flavours added) and 2 - 2.5 litres of veg stock ( or no chicken better than buillion if available), bring to a boil, turn down and add half a shredded white cabbage ( can use purple but colour will change, still tastes the same). Cook on low for about 20 mins. Taste and adjust your seasoning, don't add salt till now as celery is salty and stock is salty as well. You can change the herbs, add chilli flakes, use a taco blend, use a cajun blend, barbecue blend, use whatever your in the mood for, this makes a lot but its so low in calories you can pretty much eat as much as you like and its high in vitamins and minerals so its a win win, this will keep in the fridge for 3 or 4 days, I've kept it longer as its just me eating it but to be safe say 4 days maximum, its so hearty and delicious for winter with nutritional yeast on top, over a crispy baked potato or some mashed potatoes and in the summer i eat it cold with cilantro, you could blitz it up smooth in summer and eat like a gazpacho with diced fresh tomatoes and cucumber on the top!! Have fun with it, I hope this helps xx

Take a listen
Hawkeye1964 they are of a spiritual nature. But he is an amazing writer.
Thanks if you do listen let me know 🥰
I often with potatoes make extra potatoes: Boiled, steamed or baked.
I then invented two dishes:
1. Chinese chips
Based on fries (chips) sold
At a Chinese take-away.
Steamed waxy potatoes
Cooled and then cut up
And air-fried at 200°C (400°F)
For 20 minutes.
2. Roadkill potato:
Take a previously cooked potato
And crush it in a griddler
It goes crispy
And has tyre tracks
Like roadkill.
I remember being in Ireland and being absolutely amazed that Chinese restaurants sold French fries.
@@phatmonkey11 LOL well in Ireland and the UK
Fried potatoes -what they'd call chips
But North Americans call fries
Are so entrenched in the culture that folks Have them with EVERYTHING
And expect them with EVERY kind of meal.
Roadkill potato. If only i had a griddle

Hi. What brand and model griddle did you buy and are you happy with it? Thanks.
Day 4 of my second mini down 13 lbs! I lost 11 on the first one and 2 more as of this am. I just feel so good eating this way. There is something about simplicity that we all probably need.
that is so cool that you are going to break in down and we can follow along :)
Thank you.
Thank you for putting together this video, it is very helpful.
Thank you very much! 😀
Wishing you well on your Mary's Mini!
You are all so lucky to have compliant frozen potatoes! I hope you enjoy the book 📖❤️
You could even make a rich veggie gravy for your mash potatoes, thickened with potato starch 🤔 so versatile 👍
So good to see a new episode of your journey.
Thanks for remembering Europe!
I just love how down to earth and honest you are
I managed 3 days on the (mostly) Mary’s minis.
Maybe you would prefer to have rice as your starch?
Try change your starch every 2 or 3 days, I know it’s not the correct protocol but it helps.
Brian made me giggle with his “Mary Strikes Back” 😂
You guys are such an inspiration! I started a Mary's Mini on Monday using rice instead of potatoes. There are so many types of rice, and--to me--it is so much easier to prep. Gotta admit, I get tired of scrubbing potatoes on the potato version.
Best of luck to everyone starting a mini!
Lisa Clark Would you be willing to share what you eat at each meal?
@@i.e.presents638 Sure. I eat rice and a variety of cooked veggies at each meal, and I snack on raw vegetables. I do eat one whole raw fruit a day, because I remember seeing an interview with Dr. and Mary McDougall that allowed for this on the Mini. I will add salsas and other compliant sauces on my rice. I've been mixing up the rices--brown, black, red, white, short grain, long grain. So far, so good! Down five pounds. Good luck to you. 👍🏻
Oh yeah, panini-pressed hashbrowns, mushrooms & onions with a salad last night for dinner!
Martine O -- Congratulations! I've been stuck 20 pounds overweight for the last 10 years and hope this works for me#
I remember finding you guys when you were just getting started. You have hit so many home runs and I'm so glad you are still doing this platform. Thank you.
I remember you commenting when we were just getting started! We appreciate the support. 😀 Also, we have no clue why we keep doing so well. We just keep getting in front of the camera and people keep liking it. 😀
Krocks In The Kitchen 😎👊
I started Tuesday 2/4 and I am already down 1 lb as of today. Thanks for all the ideas to mix it up a bit within the guidelines.
PO-TA-TOES boil ‘em, mash ‘me, stick ‘em in a stew 🔥🥔

What's taters precious? 😁
YAYYY!! Live stream! Can't wait! I'm compiling my list of questions right now! 🤔 Hmmmmm what to ask.... What to ask.....
Yay! Loved the video, so fun to be doing it with you!!! I am laughing because you guys stress having al your starch on hand and I just looked in my cabinet to find I have NO RUSSETS! Gotta get to the store! Cant wait for Sunday!

Thank you for all your videos 🙏🏼 please tell me where to find recepie / inspiration for topping on the potato .....
Yay 😊 Looking forward to Sunday 👍😁
Good luck, guys. Very inspiring.

Be sure to check out our live stream on Sunday. You can ask us any of your Mary's Mini questions you might have. 😀
Thank you guys for this video! I am so happy I landed here, planning in starting the Mary’s mini next week, thanks again, I subscribed! 🤗
Sweet, another Live Stream. I always look forward to another PEEF Production.
Questions:
1) Is Jessica struggling with constipation again?
2) Do you eat your veggies first before eating potatoes ( to make sure you get veggies in first)?
Love your channel! Could you do a segment on nutritional yeast please!
MsJanette12 Wouldn’t tortillas have lard?
i.e.presents flour tortillas have lard or fat, not corn. Corn are simply water, corn, and lime.

Martin the Great Potato Mage hi yes you did 😁 do you have the recipe for the rice pudding?
Plant Plotters Paradise that sounds delicious thanks for sharing 😁
@@plantbasedsweetheart I followed the instructions on the packet... 😳😬 I'm not that inventive a cook! When I was growing up I used to get the stuff in cans because that's all we could afford... obviously things are better now, but yeah... might have to find a proper recipe on the interwebs now that I'm going out of my way to cook from scratch!!!
Love your videos! I might try a Mary’s many, myself, who knows? Have you reached out to the McDougals directly? They might be tickled pink…

I’m on Mary’s mini and it’s going better now. Day 2 was the worst. I was craving a orange and bananas but I made it through the craving. It’s day 4 for me and I’m doing good.
You are so fortunate to have each other doing Mary's Mini. My spouse would not support me. Also, I do the cooking!
Thank you so much 😊💕
You guys didn't mention leafy greens. When I do a mini, I bulk up the meals with tons of leafy greens. Either cooked or raw. Really helps me!
I just ate a baked russett sliced into quarters, sprayed with Bragg's Aminos and then sprinkled or dipped with nutritional yeast. Yum!
Lol, I also use small Aldi's boxes in my fridge and cabinets.
Jenna Fairhaven What are Aldi’s boxes? Was it in the scene of the freezer?
Keep up the good work.
k4kale Read Dr Alan Christisnson’s book Metabolism Reset where he covers resistant starch, etc. My money is on the oil as the culprit.
You guys are AWESOME!
Those roasted potatoes looked absolutely delicious! I want! Do you have a recipe for those?
I'll be there! I'm so excited for you two!
I'm about to do this with a potato veggie soup as my main thaing.
I'm on board with you! Thanks for your inspiration.
I think you guys should switch up the intro. Have Brian wear a wig and MatchBox 20 shirt. Jessica could wear a plaid shirt, beard and sit higher than Brian. 😂

Hi Guys! Another great video. 😊
Jessica how are you feeling mentally after your struggle with sweet stuff. (Not a cute name for Brian) ha!
I hope you are feeling loved and supported and that doing Mary's mini has revitalized you. 💙
Potatoes 🥔 doing it! Not bad day 4. Sugar cravings hit hard last night. Still plugging along.
You guys are looking great! You put up the best vlogs❤️😊❤️
Thank you Krocks :)
-Do you track your calories or macros while on the diet?
-Is there anything that surprised you that is non compliant?
-What do you do about fruit cravings if you have them?
-Would you ever do a mini with any other starch?
-Do you expect to lose more weight than normal while on the diet or is it more of a reset?
I can stick my oar in here :P
Tracking - Nope, not once.
Angela Campbell Maybe wean off sweet breakfasts and start having savory ones before you begin your mini

Did you guys post the potato puff recipe? Super curious how you did that, without making a mess in your air fryer lol
Adding an alarm for Sunday 4 pm Eastern.

Great video 👍👍👍. One question , if you have to pick only one gadget, would you get a gridler or an air fryer? Thanks

Thanks! -Dave
I have been standing still in my weight loss, so yes, I am doing a 10 day “potato challenge” 🤗
So interesting. Thanks for sharing. How much can u lose in 10 days?
Are peppers and tomatoes allowed on 'mary's mini, as they are technically both fruit?? Could you eat cabbage soup from the cabbage soup diet?? I love that stuff!! If you were to eat it with mashed potatoes on the side and do you have to eat potatoes at every meal?
Yes, all of those are allowed as far as I know. 😀
Could you share the cabbage soup recipe, please?
I chose sweet potatoes but do I have to stick to one kind of sweet potato? Thank you for your help
How did you make those shoestring potatoes. Did you cook first and then air fry or bake a second time?
