For this pattern, you will simply repeat row 2 & 3 until your blanket is as long as you'd like. I used a chunky weight yarn, Lion Brand Color Made Easy, for my blanket and a size K crochet hook. Thanks for posting this! I'm currently working on a blanket using this pattern, and it's looking great so far and will make a wonderfully cozy Christmas gift. My local Michael's didn't carry the Lion Brand Color Made Easy yarn you used, so I opted for Red Heart Soft Essentials since both yarns are bulky weight 5, and I can use the 6.5 mm hook with either. It's a little fuzzier than what's shown here, but I don't mind. I think this pattern would look good with nearly any weight of yarn and corresponding hook, though. It's a bit tricky at first, but once you stop and figure out where you're going it's not too hard to get the hang of it. After I give this blanket away, I may make another with this pattern for myself!

i was soooo wanting to get this stitch right, but I just couldn't do it. Row 2 the work was twisted and couldn't figure out the stitch path. Really disappointed.

I know what you mean by this so what I do is after every 6 stitches I put in a stitch marker so I can follow along the row. The work is twisted and hard to follow in the beginning so the only way I can do it is to use stitch markers. Its tedious and a lot of work but that will help guide you. Especially if you are using a polyester yarn or something close to it because the loops are already hard to find sometime. I actually put stitch markers even in my chain links so I was in track and didn't get my chains flipped either. I would out a stitch in each DC stitch and then after each set of 6. And if you follow the loops from stitch marker to stirch marker you can see the loops so much easier and not get your work tangled up. Hope that helps.

Hello , l have tried 4 times to do this stitch but it is not working out . Could it be that l am left handed ? I am able to follow other tutorials without any problem ,this has got me with this stitch . Thank you .
Same here! I am also left-handed and have spent countless hours trying to get this right. It works on one end and not another. I have also tried different numbers of chains to no avail. Very disappointing. The pattern just isn't working at all.
It should work the same even for a left hand. I suggested to someone else in the comments to use lots of stitch markers in this pattern because it twists a lot in the beginning. I put stitch markers in every DC loop and then every 6 stitches to mark the work. It helped me stay on track and know exactly where my loops were. So I wasn't going back and ripping up work. Its not a very comfortable stitch and really takes a lot of patience. But there is no way I would be able to do this without stitch markers. I am using a bernet blanket yarn which is polyester so a stitch marker helps a lot.

Hmmm. I got to row 4 or 5 and didn’t have a problem with it twisting or anything. It was just the one side end of row that didn’t work with the instructions given no matter how many times I tried it. It was almost as if it needed another half diagonal set or something. I’m not a new crocheter so I keep trying and trying, but it isn’t working. I really really wanted to make this blanket for a friend too :/ I wish I had a wash to send you the picture of it because then you’d know what I was explaining
Hmmmm, yeah I am trying to picture what you mean but having trouble. Have you ever tried sketching the pattern out. Sometimes I will do that before I start to make sure I get it. I will make little circles, like for the loops, and count up ny rows a few times. Sometimes you can see where you go wrong or if there is something that can be changed. The pattern can be adjusted easily. As long as you keep sections of 6...... maybe since you are lefthanded could you try switching row 2 and 3 and working up that way. Maybe if you worked it backwards it might be different for you. I don't know how you adjust patterns being lefthanded. This pattern is basically a cable stitch, so once you get the first few rows down you should be able to be fine at 4, that's where I am trying to visualize where it might be messing up on you. Because essentially you are repeating steps. So if you were able to do 2 and 3, 4 should be working out for you. Do you know if she has a link to a written pattern anywhere ??

size k is a 6.5mm, the letters confuse me too

I would have loved if you had put one more repeat in your rows. When doing the row 2 you show only one of the stitching in the back and it's after that that I'm having a problem.I got the first cluster of stitch in the back but the space after that looks entirely different to me and I don't know what stitches to crochet into. I guess I 'll have to go to someone else's video to try to figure out the rest of row 2.
Needed a bigger swatch to show pattern properly rather than just one pattern stitch..
Vids are nice but need written directions posted.
I don't like how she does not stitch through both loops consistently. If you are going to work on a foundation chain you should either go through either both loops or a single loop throughout the row. I prefer working both loops to make a finished edge.
The UNIVERSAL measurement, agreed upon and understood by all educated people the world over, is the METRIC system. PLEASE use millimeters (mm) for hook size.
Who the hell knows what size a "K" hook is? I have 2 conversion charts - one says a "K" hook is 6.0mm and other states a "K" hook is 6.5mm. PLEASE just use "mm" to avoid any and all confusion.
I live in the United States and agree that conversion charts can be really tricky, especially when they give contradictory information; however, it is generally agreed upon that a size K is a 6.0 mm hook, hope this helps, Happy Crocheting!
@@tabletwalks3103 My point, I think, was that we don't NEED "conversion charts." I really don't care which system of measurement is used... just pick ONE and everyone use it. Why complicate what has no need to be complicated?
It's the same thing with DATES. Some use M-D-Y, some D-M-Y. and some use Y-M-D. I believe the international "standard" is Y-M-D. Often it's impossible to determine the date because of this stupid confusion.
