@@BabaNovac792 I ordered them at www.polarparts.de because he drawer is permanent weight in the back an the crawler-trailer is heavy to the front, as the axle is positioned to the rear end. So without trailer my Volvo is almost levelled, with the trailer, the springs in the rear are more compressed and I'm loosing about 3cm, that s..xx ;-)

Here in 2024, nice video showing your rig, well done! I'm soon going to be turning my recently acquired 2008 XC90 V8 Sport (I'm American, sue me LOL) into a camping rig. Probably not as full-on as yours but a number of changes to better equip it for off-roading, a little overlanding & mostly fishing/camping trips this summer. Love my XC90 & looking forward to some great weekends! Not sure if you'll even see this, but regardless, cheers from Kentucky, USA! (new sub BTW)

Hi Björn, great video. Also love offroading with the xc90. Went for the BFG KO2 in 245/75R17. Fits great and just bit beafier than stock. Totally agree, surprisingly what this Volvo can do. I am also looking to create some tow hooks for the front and back. Did you manage? Greets from Holland!

The tow points are "under construction", I'm looking for some points to mount without bending the frame... the factorys recoverycard is a good indicator for where not to mount them. 😉👍 Until soon

@@greyknight05 ah I see. It gives it a nice rugged look. It seems this was changed for the 2006 and up models where it's sort of more flush with the bumper and doesn't extend that high up. But I tend to Like this 1 and it seems to be as you said, part of that edition of perhaps face-lift if you wish. Thanks for the swift response. I'm planning to add the diamond plate as well. Haven't done any off roading yet but better to have this but of protection than not.

Real ones, bullbars that are not deforming in an accident, are no more allowed since 2005 in Germany, and Germany was the last EU-Country, transferring the EU-law into national right. Older cars are allowed to keep them, but the newer car generations can only have the "pedestrian protection bars" that are deforming heavily in an accident, they are only decoration, no real protection for the car. These ones are allowed, when certified for road use, but senseless i assume🤷♂️

Hey, nope it doesn'd, as it is mounted on gour bolts to the engines sub-frame which is way tougher than the bashplate itself.

🤣 My wife won't let me, neither the 79Series Cruiser, nor going for down under, so this is the best compromise I could get by now... 🤷♂️
My XC90 isn't AWD but when put in manual mode it's 4x4 to which comes in handy
