Adding capacitors can phase shift the amplifier output, and possibly damage the speakers'. Might be interesting to try with cheap speakers', but not if you value them....

Who did you hear say that or based on what documents did you say that? Many commercial speakers are designed to incorporate capacitors. it is an isolation method that causes less damage to the speaker

@@AlfredH As a low pass or high pass filter you mean? Yes, this will work, with an inductor to limit current. But to place a capacitor online you increase the 1/2 wave output and phase shift the speaker
