The trick to open camera via a particular finger is nice.. Wonder if it can be used for a scenario when you want to give your phone to a friend only to click photos, and not to be able to open any other app on your phone..
I followed the video but instead of unlocking the phone, I activated the fingerprint sensor gesture option to open the top menu and it worked! if I slide down on fingerprint the menu collapse and when slide up I decided to launch an app. Thanks :D

Won't these fingerprint unlock actions happen *anytime* you authenticate with your fingerprint, not just when unlocking? For example, if your banking app allows fingerprint authentication, or if you use your fingerprint to authenticate a Google Pay transaction?

@@joaomgcd thats the thing i don't want to setup 4 profile.. it imapacts system resource right ?.... so i was using this grep filter with -E and | for or condition ... i thought if it could be done without the grep.
@@ShivamKumar-nz2qr It shouldn't impact much :) But if you really want to use just one profile delete the string that identifies the specific fingerprint from the LogCat Entry event and it should work for all of them. If you can't get it to work show me an example of what log you get with a fingerprint unlock and I'll let you know how you should setup the event :)

I press stop recording, tasker shows again as it should, error1 = profile i created with the logcat entry event is gone, error2 = recorded log is not showing up. i have given tasker the abillity to read log via adb shell command

It doesn't work on Android 13? If not, where did I miss that important piece of information. Did the Tasker permission, albeit a couple of errors appeared but they cleared and gave all the permissions. Screen says all permissions granted. No logs appear. Saw a comment later after getting no logs about Google breaking this with 13.
I take it back, so far, 😂 Tasker finally asked me for permissions to access the logs, I got the logs then. Minimized Tasker and got an error, which I sent to developer. But while Tasker is open I'll continue checking into this to see if it will work on Android 13 or not.😮

I had same issue , but found the exact logcat entry by searching for "fid" then selecting the entry that shows up (something like "vendor.samsung.hardware.biometrics.....") & it'll contain specifically the exact finger number you used to sign in.

Yes, that is correct. But you can add other conditions to the profile so that it doesn't trigger at the wrong time :)

@@joaomgcd soory..i was noob at that time 🥺(just installed).now i got 50% knowladge of it 🤩...now i have made my own app with it 🥰....it was great..i loved it..a custom app made for me by me 😀.thanks so much.i have a little concern..like i have exam dates...so each day i was trying to decrease by 1 value when i click a button..so what i did is
1)created a varibale date and kept latest date in it when the button is clicked
2) and i was comparing with current date
3) if both are not same then the counter is decreased by 1 value
say one exam has 15 days left..when i click on next day it get reduced by 1 value.i.e 14
but while testing it was decrementing and date is changing..but in production(installed app) it was not doing so...may be date varibale is geting / refrshed to nornal value while i was testing. can you please check this one...

Vivo Android 9 pie, can not find the fingerprint gesture ID like you described, don't know which one is the correct fingerprint log???
Every device is different. Logcat is a thing that you need to experiment with.
Unfortunately in the list of logs (minute 1.02 of the video) I do not see the Fingerprint item with the ID. How come? I have a rooted S9 + with Android 10, I usually use fingerprint unlock, but I would like to open the camera with another fingerprint. Thank you
