I mean to be fair Peter wasn't expecting Jesus to let himself be captured lol. Its easier to be brave when Jesus is next to you.
Actually Peter did know because Jesus had told the deciples many times exactly what was going to happen and that is the reason he came. That’s why Peter tried to rebuke Jesus and said, “No, I will never allow this to happen” and that’s when Jesus said “get behind me Satan.”
@joleencox5900 That's true, but some of them didn't believe or understand it until it happened. Most of them were scared & confused for most of Mark. And Jesus had to talk Peter down after he cut off that guy's ear in all of the books, including John. I was taught in seminary that Peter had the idea that Jesus would be a king mesiah similarly to what some of the masses thought (the masses had based their belief on Daniel 2 & Psalm 2, including some of the religious groups).
I mean the man had the courage to both try to walk on water & cut off a man's ear in front of roman soldiers.
All that being said, this makes me want to re-read the gospels again lol, so God bless you sister ^_^
