I just listened to Preston's sermon about Goliath and the giants. Now, I hear Tim talking about Saul and never made this correlation before. Saul was the tallest man in Israel. Handsome and all they had wanted in a king. When the battle with the Philistines takes place, and Goliath is calling out one man to fight him, for the first time (even though I should have made this connection during Preston's sermon) I think Saul himself should have gone out. He was the ideal man right, the king, the warrior, the tallest in the land to go up against Goliath. Things that make you go hmm... And, as Preston said, what shifted was when a proper leader went out and fought the giant....then the men had someone to follow. Ok, I'm only 4 minutes in. Back to the sermon...

🔥Pastor Tim.... Thank you so much for this message. I had to go bye-bye, created distance. Now, I gotta do better about boundaries cause the actions are definitely toxic, painful & deadly. God, give me grace.

    This message made me think
Of single people asking God for a spouse and God wants to be their king but they asking for someone to the expense of their heart being hurt
God wants to be our all first so we can learn to identify ourself with Him, love Him above all and love ourselves so that we can love our neighbor correctly and then he will bring the right companionship to our lives
But we jump out of emotions cause we just like the Israelites
    We want what others have
When God wants us to be unique

I can’t stop thinking about this dang message. I’m battling in my mind the fear that says because of my years of narcissistic abuse that I won’t be able to come into alignment with what God has spoken over me. It took 13 years for me to be stripped of my identity, reality, and trust in myself. It just feels like so far to go. How do you go from believing your worthless and can’t do anything right to believing the God of the universe wants to be your friend? From everyone you ever loved abandoning, betraying, or abusing you to believing an invisible father will never leave you or forsake you. #batshitcrazy #faith #midnightmusings

His sermon is so amazing that I’m going to have to print it out and put highlights of his information his bullet points in my Bible as a reference to Saul and Samuel and anger and rage and bullying and entitlement etc.
