I'm impressed by all the little tidbits I've picked up on this channel! The amount of times "mhmm" has been uttered today as the pieces fall into place, I tell ya .... haha
The time invested, along with the wisdom imparted, is truly appreciated. 👌👍🙏
    Thanks!

Thank you so much for that. I purchased an amp and speaker’s from an online source and hooked up a Fluance RT-85 turntable in hopes of enjoying my old records from the 1970s. It’s been a disappointment so far because it’s not immersive at all. Thanks to your video, I think I now know what the problem is - I don’t have a sound stage. Thanks again for sharing your hard earned knowledge! Mark

This is the video that reminded me of GR from back when the Paradox3 was released. Better than the Wilson cub and at less than a third the cost. Jeff and Danny really know audio design.

Really interesting talk. Thanks for the information. I realize this is an older video and I am late to the party however. I stumbled upon your channel shortly after stumbling on the cheap audio man’s channel. Thanks for the detailed explanation on speaker placement. I never realized it could effect the imaging so much having the speakers close to the wall. I was under the impression that you wanted to get them as close to the wall as possible. Maybe that stands true for home theater? Idk.

That may possibly be for subwoofers?

Hi Danny, amazing insights. You are really shedding light into a lot of the elusive areas of high quality sound where traditionally there's been a ton of empirical trial and error but not enough understanding of cause and effect relationships.
Is this your personal listening room? I do hear a bit of low frequency whirring sound like a fan is running in the background, wondering what that is.
Thanks and keep doing these videos!!

Hey Danny, loving the free wisdom on your channel! Any chance you could share insight, if just a memory, on the Mission 780 Argonaut MK II? It's been very difficult for me to research this particular model even though it was a heavy hitter in the late 80's and I want to find out just how ahead of its time it really was before deciding if I want to upgrade my front end first. Right now, I'm running a Denon AVR-3600 (1997) as a stereo preamp to an Aragon 2002 stereo amp. I'm thinking the sound signature will change big time with a dedicated preamp but I'm not leaving out the idea of a speaker change first. Currently, I think the sound signature is on the warm side of things which I don't mind- I kind of enjoy it but I'm curious about how I can make the highs sparkle a little bit more without trading in the great imaging and mid-to-low frequency response I have now (and also minimize putting companies through the hassle of returns!).

Thanks Danny, nice talk and spurred a question that will influence without a doubt my coming listening experience. I certainly grasp the idea and approach of your open baffle design. And I think its going to be at least two questions. From your comments concerning room acoustics you are preaching to the choir in my case having grasp this importance long ago in my early 30's, I'm 71 Plus. My issue and one I hope you have some advice and possibly a solution for is the obvious room I live in. Its only 10 x11, carpeted, standard dry wall. The ling walls reflective surfaces are non dampable given one is halh covered by a bookshelf storage unit the other by my desks shelving unit. So, all that said would I more than benifit from an open baffle design and if so do you have plans and componets for same assuming a $350 to $500 budget. Obviously lower cost is preferable, but I realize there's a given price for components need to achieve a desired result. And regardless next time I'm home I will try and drop by. Or do you think l'd be better served with your mini's or say X-Bravo's l'll be running a sub regardless. You've also likely realized near field is more likely than not going to be the order of the day. I'd like as much transparency as possible. I realize l don't need as much power lol as my new vintage Sansui 7070 Db has and will sell it off for something as yet to be determined with an overall budget of $1500 to $1800 all total. CD's and Streaming will be my musical sources genre's being Classic Rock, Jazz, Classica, and a fair amount of Environmental, New Wave, etc.

Love what you do. However, I would love to see your brain power in action on speakers whose front baffle is no more than 24” off the back wall. Everyone knows that room treatment and speaker placement is huge. Everyone also knows that you are going to get maybe one room where you can put your speakers wherever you want, but all of the other rooms the speakers are going to have to fit nicely into the room’s aesthetics. Many audio files don’t have any rooms where they can put speakers wherever they wish. I would love to hear your thoughts on strategies to maximize sound quality and sound stage when speakers need to be close to the wall. I am a DIY guy, but still learning a lot. I would love to hear your thoughts on optimal driver dispersion and cabinet design for this objective. I am very aware that this is a tall order, but I- and I am sure many others would love to hear your strategies for this.
