Keep all your USD notes crisp, they don't like crinkled notes & will refuse them when you try to use them. We wanted to cross the land border for the experience and to save some money, but it is closed for now. We did try Lok Lake, and you are right it is fantastic! Will definitely try Luc Lac and Amok next 🙂 Thank you for the tip about the TukTuk drivers!

Indeed! We did this and there was still a remarkable amount of lag for some reason. I think we'll end up getting a local SIM card if the price isn't too steep.
I think I saw more foreigners than locals in this video. Maybe because as you mentioned it's fairly easy to get in to Cambodia now. I think a good amount of people do visa runs there too. Although I found you through my interest in Thailand travel, I'm truly excited to continue watching your adventures in Cambodia! We've noticed a lot more Americans in particular, here in Siem Reap. In Thailand is was mostly Brits and Germans. I think you are right that it has to do with easier entry requirements. Glad you enjoy the videos! We do our best to remain honest. Thanks again! 🙂
Hey there. Cambodia entry requirements are: - e-visa (can be done online) - Negative PCR test - Proof of vaccination It's a pretty smooth, straightforward process. If you're coming to Thailand first, the Cambodian entry process is much easier in comparison.
Really enjoy your videos, I travelled to Cambodia 2015 with my husband... loved it. What is the name of your accommodation it looks very familiar? Have fun!
This is good to hear! We had heard mixed things about Cambodia before coming, but so far we're enjoying it. Name of the hotel is Unique Residence. It's about a 5 minute walk from Pub Street.
We are heading to Thailand in April. Your videos have helped shape where we will go and what we will do !! keep up the good work ! Love your content. Thanks for adding cheer to our (until recently) locked down existence :)
Thank you for that 😊 Glad we were able to hopefully help a bit with your plans! April is just around the corner, you two must be so excited! Where will you go first in Thailand?

Good luck in Cambodia! I've got a trip planned through Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos end of the year. Hopefully! I've heard some amazing things about Koh Rong / Koh Rong Samloem in Cambodia. Would be awesome to see you check ik out first ☺️
Thank you for the well-wishes! Your trip sounds incredible, and it will probably be a breeze to visit those countries by the end of the year! 😊 We will definitely try to check out Koh Rong 🙂
Highly recommend Battambang, it's not very far from Siem Reap. Had the most memorable time there on a bike tour (I wish I could remember the company). Great food there. Try the Beef Loc Lac for me!
Cant remember how long you been stay in Thailand. I hope u guys have a good memory in many things in Thai. And hope you will have a lot of fun in combodia 😁😁
You have to do sunrise at Angkor wat! It’s absolutely beautiful! Make sure to take flashlights, as the flashlight on your phone isn’t bright enough, believe, I know! Did a lot of stumbling in the dark! Ha! Make sure to have a banana pancake from one of the food vendors! Angkor wat is one of my favorite places on the planet! Oh, also, we hired a taxi driver and then paid him extra. It was like having a personal tour guide. He took us all over the place and invited us to a family wedding! Also, Kampong Phluk floating village was pretty interesting to see. Hope y’all have such a great time!
My girlfriend and I travelled from Thailand to Cambodia around six years ago… as a whole we found Cambodia a little less developed but still packed with authentic charm… Angkor Wat was breathtaking… we took a boat along the Tonel Sap to Phom Phen… which has a tragic but resilient history… enjoy your travels… I remember crocodile steak featuring in the local menus
Would you recommend the boat through Tonle Sap? We've noticed it's less developed too, but that's not necessarily a bad thing! Can't wait to try the crocodile steak (well at least one of us) 😂
In our opinion the boat trip was a great way to travel between the two most popular destinations… you hear stories about old boats etc. but these are normally used for local cruises on the lake so don’t be put off… if the weather is nice you can sit on top of the boat and take in the wonderful scenery of the local river bank community… if you happen to be sat near the engine.. ear plugs are advisory…. We packed some snacks for the journey and just treated it as a day trip… you guys are doing great… the content is always awesome… in these times of restricted travel.. we are travelling vicariously through you guys.. so thank you
PS… Phnom Penh’s Killing Field and Toul Sleng prison is a must… it’s a seriously harrowing trip but we found it was a way of paying respect to all of those who suffered so atrociously… you will really value the experience.. the prison tour is a short ride from the killing fields so make sure you leave enough time… safe travels 😁
I never went to cambodia before. But I think I would like to go to Thailand first before I go to cambodia. I have some family in Cambodia I never met. Thanks for sharing your experience in Thailand. It will help me in the future. That is 2 countries I would like to go to.
hi guys ! Looking forward to seeing Cambodia! safe travels an enjoy yourselves, I back packed around Asia and Europe for 5 years in my twenties now I"m 50 an your vlogs are giving me itchy feet again. safe travels love your content and style cheers from Australia ✌️
I and about 50 bikers biked to Siem Riep 15 years ago from the Thai border. It is about 150 km from the Thai border. The road was pretty good but the view was desolate, hardly any tree along the road, making for even hot and humid. Once we arrived in Siem Riep, it was greener and even much more greener when we toured Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom temples. We spent 3 days touring these two temples and Tonle sap lake (the huge lake formed from Mekong River). Siem Riep 15 years ago was bustling with tourists who came to visit Angkor Wat. Dollar was the dominant currency but you could use Thai baht in Thai restaurants there as well and of course several vendors could speak Thai as most of them had a prior experience working in Thailand. After spending 3 days in Siem Riep, we biked back to the Thai border and then boarded tour bus to Bangkok. The scene of Siem Riep and Pai in Mae hongson reminded me of those bustling days 15 years ago when tourists flocked to Pai and Siem Riep en masse. BTW, Cambodia opened the country after seeing the success of Thailand's test and go regime last year. It is easier in Cambodia because the country knows that Omicron variant is less severe than Delta and thus the country required only ATk (rapid test). However, Thailand is still cautious and requires more stringent PCR test due to rising number of infections due to Omicron.
We did not know that many Cambodians come to Thailand to work. Tonle Sap Lake looks magnificent, it would be nice to see it. We read recently in the news that even Thailand is considering eventually not requiring a PCR test. It will be interesting to see, hopefully people stay healthy in the process.
Thank you for visiting Thailand and made great contents. Wish you good luck in your further destinations. And hope you will come back to Thailand for vacation and explore more in the future.
Lovely! We had to miss out on Cambodia on our trip (planned Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand) because there were riots in Thailand, the Bangkok airport was closed, and we were worried about visas - ended up flying back home (with a stopover in Tokyo - fantastic) from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). I don’t know your plans, but Laos and Vietnam (trains!) are both really worth a visit. Dodging the Honda motorcycles crossing the roads in Hanoi is forever imprinted on my brain!!
Sorry to hear your trip got a bit derailed there. Vietnam is probably at the absolute top of our list right now - we'd love to take a motorbike along the length of the country.
yay Cambodia. A really fun place and so much to see and do. The food is very interesting because, especially in the pub street area there are so many choices in terms of different ethnic items. Something I would recommend is to go across the street past the park and river to a whole different group of markets and places to eat. Yeah they use the US dollar but will often give back change in Riel. When it comes to Angkor Wat it might be tempting to take a tuk tuk, but it can get very dusty and hot. It just depends on how many days and how much you want to explore, but sometimes hiring a car and driver is a good option. Also there is a place that rents electric bicycles, really slow but a great way to explore around Siem Reaps outer reaches. They tend to have restrictions on renting actual scooters within the city limits. But that is always changing. Stay hydrated eat great cheap food and enjoy the wonderful people.
Thank you for the tips and insight! Very helpful, especially about the tuktuks and electric bikes. We had the same observation about Pub Street! Very good representation of different ethnic foods around there.
Love that place, you guys should have gone across the road to Fifty 5 kitchen and bar.. lovely espresso martini’s.. we stayed at the Steung hotel just down the road from there in 2019. Are you guys going to kampot? We did Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Kampot. We absolutely fell in love with the country..
Don't recall seeing Fifty 5. Lots of pretty good international food options in that area, though. Surprised us, given the smallish size of Siem Reap. Not sure if we're going to Kampot or not. We've heard nothing but good things about it. In Phnom Penh currently.
@@OnePackWanderers yes Siem reap has a lovely French quarter too, just down the lane from that Mexican restaurant. Loving your videos too. Let me know if you ever do Laos and Vietnam.
pursat, cross the river heading out of town, make a right look for the 4 floor guesthouse, kinda new, $7 a night, comfy bed, great soup for breakie and coffee across the street. Probably you won't stop in Pursat or Kampong Cham (great new guesthouse up the hill from town, look for Hello phone store, head up that street, pass the olympic pool), again something like $7, I do coffee next door at my pal KS's place, food across from that and on the short walk down the hill). Yeah, stick with flashpacker spots in SR and PP like eveyone else, don't look for the no name noodle place (which is famous) in Battambang, or the White Rose resto, which might be the best meals I had in Cambodia (which in general has crap food, sorry)
@@OnePackWanderers I thought I deleted all that. After seeing some of your vids it was obvious you're flashpackers. Sure, check out those spots, but they're not trendy or fancy, the noodle place is mostly only locals...my taxi guy got hungry and suggested it. I DO like the one pack concept, but watching people stay at upscale places with impressive fancy layouts bores me. Can find that EVERYWHERE. But hey, that's just me, apparently most people WANT to see the youtube version of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. If I wanted to experience fancy high priced digs and eat western food, I'd save the 1k airfare and stay home. I wonder why my comments were not deleted. (I only eat local when I stay in SE Asia and like simple sometimes local places, NOT tourist traps)
It seems you haven't watched many of our videos, or not watched them all the way through. We've never spent more than $25/night for a hotel in Southeast Asia, often less than $20. We eat from street stalls and roadside shacks in the vast majority of our videos. We've been on the road for 8 months though and like we said in this video, we went to the pricey, touristy restaurant because it's the first time we've seen Mexican food in those 8 months. I get that this is the internet and you seem to have made your judgements already - and that's fine. Just thought I'd throw in my 2¢ 😂
To understand anything about Cambodia you should read "Survival in the killing fields" by Haing Ngor. Then visit S-21 prison in Phnom Penh. Take a tour of the killing fields there. Also after Angkor Wat go up North to Kaoh Ker and Preah Vihear.
No worries! Happy to answer. We entered on the 30 day visa exemption, then got the 30 day extension, then got the special 60 day Covid extension. So we’ve been on three different visas for Thailand 😂 Not sure how much longer they will do the Covid extension, though.
It's a definite if your in cambo then you also have kep and kampot as well obviously Phnom Penh killing Fields etc so you get a real understanding of their past
you tubers tommy and sammy just got to Cambodia a couple of weeks ago maybe will have some info on things to see . the next time you rent a bike maybe you can get one with the tuk tuk trailer so Tai can ride in style ! thanks for another great video
Hmmm... We all need a bit more discussion of the visa issues, which are super topical in SE Asia now... Did you have to leave Thailand, lots of people do, over visas.
Hey Jim. Good question. At the moment, Thailand is still issuing the special Covid extensions for visas. Currently you can get the extension until March 25th. Thailand reviews it on a month by month basis, so it's tough to tell what will happen after the 25th. Generally, the Covid extensions are expected to end soon.
I have just left Siem Reap. Would have loved to meet you both ! Cambodian Tuk Tuk, is called Remork. Sour Sdey =Hello Orkun =Thankyou Pay attention to your money. Any rips, or holes in it won't be accepted anywhere. When recieving change, check the notes are not damaged. For authentic Khmer food, there are many carts along Siem Reap river, every night, where alot of locals eat 😋 Also very cheap. Enjoy Siem Reap ! Temple's are outstanding. I miss being there already ❤
Hey guys great video. Quick question how is the internet speed in Cambodia? Leon and I are heading there in June but we both work online so it’s important for us. Thanks so much
Hey guys! The internet in Cambodia was better than expected based on some things we read online. At every place we stayed, we got a fairly reliable 10-20mbps.
hey guys we are following your path currently in BKK looking to head to Cambodia with Siem Reap first stop. We are having trouble finding a flight to siem reap ? they appear to only go to Phnom penh ?
We just checked, and you're right, no direct flights between BKK & REP. When we flew in, they had just resumed international flights to Siem Reap. It looks like they totally walked it back, everything goes through Phnom Penh now.
Hi guys, please make sure you try the beef lok lak while you are there and a day trip to Phnom Kulen falls. Its a must and you can pick up some sweet pink banana on your way. Mike and Michelle Thomas
loved Cambodia....there will come a time you find yourself counting how many times you get asked for tuk tuk in one outing lol. I really enjoyed the night food tour, they take you to the markets and places locals eat. The floating village is nice (beware of the scams with that though ...research 1st on things they will try to get you to buy for kids). If you head West from Siem Reap check out the Bamboo Train (if your back is okay for it). And if you get to Phnom Penh check out the Killing Feilds and S21 (not happy fun places but you will learn a lot about what the people went through in 1970-1975 and the mass killings.
Hi Tia + Cheveyo, I have been following your travelogues since you got to Thailand. Welcome to Cambodia!!! While it may not offer as much as Thailand, I hope that you will also enjoy your stay here. If you do get to Phnom Penh, may I please recommend that you be extra careful when you use your Iphones (which are the latest model!) to record your travelogues, especially while taking a tuk tuk . Purse and phone snatching can and does happen! I would not want anything bad to happen to you or anyone while you are visiting Cambodia because this country is far from being perfect but she does offer a lot, provided you are careful in certain places. I wish you a pleasant stay in this small but big heart country of mine. 🙏
Hello Casey. Thank you very much for the advice and the warning. Is there a safer way to get around Phnom Penh besides tuktuks? We really appreciate you looking out for us!
@@OnePackWanderers You are welcome, Tia and Cheveyo. Most of the tuk tuks in Phnom Penh are the Indian ones. Being enclosed, they are safer than the remorques like the one that took you from Siemreap Airport to your hotel or the Rolls Royce one (LOL) which was parked in front of your Mexican restaurant. However, if the two of you are in the tuk tuk and one of you wants to use your phone for browsing or to take a picture or a video using your phone, please make sure that it is the person on the left who is holding the iPhone with his right hand (assuming that the person is right-handed). In other words, please try not to hold your iphone on the left or right hand side of the tuk tuk because it can be snatched easily. Likewise, if you are recording in open air, please be careful. A snatcher on a motorbike can just zoom past and snatch your phone. Generally speaking, Phnom Penh is not a dangerous place, except for purse and phone snatching.
First of all: get information about your plans from your hotel. Not all things are as straight forward as you might expect in this country, but people are friendly and eager to help. For instance: You have to buy a ticket to visit Angkor Wat at a government institute and you require a passport photo and pay in US dollars. Angkor Wat is beautiful, but huge. They sell one day and multiple day tickets. Get yourself a 3 day ticket. Vist Angkor for a sunrise and explore all the temples. They are gorgeous. To support the locals get a guide. I got myself a tuk-tuk for a whole week, including a trip by car to a more far away temple. The guy took me around all the temples of the Angkor Wat complex. There are something like 12 to 15 temples (correct me if I'm wrong). Wear shoes that you can walk long distances with and can climb the many, many stairs. Don't forget to visit the Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) Tomb Raider set, it is one of the many temples. Use the trees for scale. (Spoiler alert) Food was amazing, often as good as in Thailand. Especially Cambodian white rice tasted like heaven. Around Seam Reap you will find some museums about the bombing that took place during the Vietnam war. Very interesting as well. No idea yet where you are heading next. Maybe visit some of the dark reminders of the Pol Pot regime (the killing fields) or heading for the coast and enjoy some rest and relaxation. Cambodia is still like Thailand was 30 years ago, or maybe even longer. Yes, the Cambodian currency situation is dualistic. The Rial is the official local currency, but hotels and restaurants (and probably everyone else) prefer crisp new US dollar bills. Make sure you get new bills. In a lot of cases they used to reject to be paid with older or somewhat damaged bills. I guess the exchange rate is still 4000 Rial to 1 US dollar? Most of all, enjoy. Enjoy, the food (still some French influence and no McD), the weather, the people and the scenery. It's a breathtaking country with a rich past.
This was enormously helpful! Seriously, thank you for taking the time to write it out. There's a lot of good knowledge here, and I hope that people thinking of visiting Cambodia see this comment. We agree the food is excellent! We came into it expecting to be sort of let down compared to Thailand, but that's not the case at all. A lot of the food seems to be more savory compared to Thailand's sweet/spicy dishes. The exchange rate from Riel to USD is supposedly closer to 4100:1 but every place we've been to is calculating prices based on 4000/1. Luckily that seems to go both ways (ie we can pay for a $2 item with 8000 riel). Thanks again for the comment!
When you guys go to Ankor Wat. Try to find a stegosaurus ptinted on one of the walls (may be pretty hard. I just over heard a tour guide when i was there). Mystery is how did these people know what a stegosaurus looked like when it was already extinct 66 million years ago and Ankor Wat was built in the 12th century!
Wow, we didn’t see the stegosaurs but that is very interesting if it is indeed a piece from the 12th century! People of ancient civilizations were much smarter than most people think.
Goodbye, I hope you guys come back to Thailand again. 🙏🏼

I am so pleased you've gone to Cambodia the people are amazing the past is horrific I love following your travels most genuine on tube
That is very kind of you to say, thank you 😊
What is the requirements to go to Cambodia from Thailand it’s on my bucket list when I go there this year.
Hey there. Cambodia entry requirements are:
- e-visa (can be done online)
- Negative PCR test
- Proof of vaccination
It's a pretty smooth, straightforward process. If you're coming to Thailand first, the Cambodian entry process is much easier in comparison.
Thanks for visiting Thailand. I will be following your journey wherever you go !. Have a safe trip
Thank you! Thailand will always have a special place in our hearts 😊
I will miss you. Please come back to explore and enjoy. Will follow your dreams. Take care
We definitely will return to Thailand before the end of this trip 🙂

Good luck and we're miss you when you go back to USA
Hope to see you visit again in Thailand
Hopefully we will not have to go back to the USA for a while 😅 We will definitely come back to Thailand 😊

It's sad to see you leaving Thailand but decided to contining on following you two's journey. Have a safe trip, i mean safe trips, wherever your go.
Thank you! That means a lot, and it's very nice of you to say 😊
Highly recommend Battambang, it's not very far from Siem Reap. Had the most memorable time there on a bike tour (I wish I could remember the company). Great food there. Try the Beef Loc Lac for me!
We had never heard of Battambang, thanks for the recommendation!
Cant remember how long you been stay in Thailand. I hope u guys have a good memory in many things in Thai. And hope you will have a lot of fun in combodia 😁😁
Thailand is always going to be a place that we keep in our hearts. It’s an absolutely amazing country and a really special place 😊😍
Thank you for all the tips, they’re invaluable! And that’s really awesome that you were invited to a wedding! What a cool experience 😄
Hello to Australia! Did you have a favorite spot, in all your travels? 5 years is a long time, it must've been a wonderful experience.
Thanks to visit Thailand. Have a good trip in the next country.🙏
Thank you very much 😊
Good bye from Thailand … hopefully you having fun in 🇰🇭
Thank you very much for the well wishes 😊🙏🏼
We definitely will come back in the future. Thank you 🙂
I was hoping that you guys go there! I loved my time in Siem Reap. I surprised myself by getting up for 3 sunrises in a row!!!Happy Travels
Wow! Did you watch the sunrises at Ankgor Wat? We are very excited to go there!
I wish you a great weekend and à nice time in Cambodia. with love and happiness from me in Denmark 🇩🇰
Thank you very much! And, hello to Denmark! Hopefully we can visit your country someday soon 🙂
Thank you for traveling in Thailand. I will continue to follow your channel. Hope you will come back to visit Thailand again.
We will definitely come back to Thailand, we could never say goodbye forever 😍
Sad to see you leave Thailand but the adventure continues.
Can't wait to see the next blog
We were sad to leave. It's a weird feeling to leave a place after 4 months. But yes! Onward 🙂
good luck thx to come in Thailand.i suggest you will travel in Combodia with group of safety
Thank yo for the tip! We will be very careful 😬
Thank you for supporting Thai tourism. Good luck for the upcoming journeys. By the way, Tia looks like Thai, very much alike one of my friends.
Thank you for having us in your country 😊
I heard that from a lot people! Never thought I looked Thai but I guess so 😅
yay Cambodia.
Hope you enjoy. Bye Bye thailand. เที่ยวต่อให้สนุกครับ
Thank you very much, we will 🙂
@@OnePackWanderers Have a good time.
Thanks for the insight. Why don't you want us to look for No Name Noodle place or White Rose?
Thank you for the tips! We intend to go to the Killing Fields, but I do not know if we will film it.
you both are so lovely!! im so glad I found your channel ♥

New country! So exciting! Keep filming! What type of visa were you on in Thailand (sorry if you already answered this). Safe travels always!!
No worries! Happy to answer. We entered on the 30 day visa exemption, then got the 30 day extension, then got the special 60 day Covid extension. So we’ve been on three different visas for Thailand 😂
Not sure how much longer they will do the Covid extension, though.
Koh rong and often overlooked is koh Kong province I think it's fairly near SR .
Thank you for the recommendation! A few people have mentioned Koh Rong, and we’re very intrigued!
It's a definite if your in cambo then you also have kep and kampot as well obviously Phnom Penh killing Fields etc so you get a real understanding of their past
Wow new country here just arrived Thailand was thinking to meet with you.... Bad luck 😅😅

Very empty. Cambodia seems like it was hit harder than Thailand. Hopefully it can recover well.
you tubers tommy and sammy just got to Cambodia a couple of weeks ago maybe will have some info on things to see . the next time you rent a bike maybe you can get one with the tuk tuk trailer so Tai can ride in style ! thanks for another great video

Tia, you are very lucky, your parents gave you very nice looking face, and beautiful smile.
Welcome to Cambodia 🇰🇭❤️
How is Tinas back now? Enjoy the cool weather there! Greetings from Bangkok
Her back is doing much better! I still carry her backpack sometimes just to be safe. Hello to Bangkok! Hope all is well in your magnificent city 😊

Pay attention to your money.
These tips are seriously invaluable, thank you so much!
Hey guys great video.
Quick question how is the internet speed in Cambodia? Leon and I are heading there in June but we both work online so it’s important for us.

Hey guys! The internet in Cambodia was better than expected based on some things we read online. At every place we stayed, we got a fairly reliable 10-20mbps.
@@OnePackWanderers wonderful thanks for the insight!

hey guys we are following your path currently in BKK looking to head to Cambodia with Siem Reap first stop.
Dont forget to come back Thailand again. See you
Hi guys, please make sure you try the beef lok lak while you are there and a day trip to Phnom Kulen falls. Its a must and you can pick up some sweet pink banana on your way.

Thank you for the recommendations. We tried the beef lok lac and it is REALLY good 😊
loved Cambodia....there will come a time you find yourself counting how many times you get asked for tuk tuk in one outing lol.
Hey, thank you for the recommendations and advice. It is appreciated! It looks like there's a lot to watch out for at the floating villages 😅

What an awesome way to bond as a couple 💑...explore the world together...partnership goals❤..both are inspiring 💞

Hello to the One Pack Wanderers (Love the channel name!) 👋❤️ How great is Cambodia, and those templates !! New sub from us 🇦🇺👍😄
Hey guys! Thank you 😊 Loved watching your guide to Sedona!
please come back again, love watching you guys
We will definitely return to Thailand one day 😊 For now, we'd like to visit Thailand's neighbors 🙂
(Spoiler alert)
Food was amazing, often as good as in Thailand.
So exited 😆 💓 🙌 Can't wait 😍 with you in Cambodia
Good Luck 👍 Be Happy 😊
And Have Fun Fun😀
Glad you are staying with us! 😊🙏🏼😄

We'd like very much to visit Phnom Penh! Will look you up on FB 🙂
@@OnePackWanderers if you come don't hang around too long in the city. Plenty of stuff to do outside.
May you travel safely, Hopefully in the future you guys will back, Good luck 🤗❤️
Thank you very much, Max! 😊
