It is mentally easier (though still physically hard for me) to jump onto the ledge. The rail near it is the exact same height, but I have not gotten to that one mentally yet. Hopefully some more work on the P-rail will help get me over that mental hurdle.
Found your channel by accident and glad I did. Great to see the progress you’ve made so far. I used to skate when I was in my teens. It was my life back then. Always wanted to get back into it but that age old problem of the voice in the back of your head saying “your to old now, don’t be stupid”. I’m off to buy 2 pairs of skates today. 1 for me and 1 for my daughter. We MTB together and would love to teach her how to skate (hoping I can pick it back up myself first 😂). Enjoy the journey with your son. It’s addictive and there is always something new to try.
Age does have its disadvantages. I have a hamstring injury presently and am having to work my way back to full on skating, but you can't let that little voice take control or you'll be playing shuffleboard for excitement. It is definitely addictive and I am loving the time with my son, it is so great to watch him progress, and I use his progress as motivation myself.
Frontside on a ledge is hard. I picture that i'm going to slide on the insides of my boots, i don't but that helps me get on top of the ledge and my feet at the right angled position. Also, watch that back foot, make sure both feet are outside of your shoulders, so all your weight is inside of your feet. You can't slip out that way. You're killing it though, well done. Amazing progress 👏
Thanks. Just jumping up onto the ledge is about 90% of the battle for me. It really (really) hurts my knee if I have my legs wide and miss, so unfortunately I keep them much too close together most of the time and you can see the results! Working on improving my form on the new P-rail, so hopefully some of that will transfer to the park.
@@theaverageoldguy oh right, i hadn't considered that. I kind of do the same thing when my legs are too tired. Well you're doing great anyway. I look forward to the next video 🤙
love to see it!!! you've got those on a rail for sure
You are inspiring, keep it up, you got this!!!
Getting the grind down!
That’s it I’m skating today! 💪🏽
👏👏👏👏
I needed 3 mounts of mental preparation before I jumped on my first grind :) Way the go, happy to see others also starting to skate.
