One key thing you glossed over is the fact that Lincolns are all about smoothness, quiet and comfort. That's what you pay for. All the other manufactures except maybe Buick, lean into sport instead of comfort. The Corsair hands down is the smoothest riding compact SUV out there.

Valid point. Can I ask you a follow up? Do you think the market (with the exception of China where Lincoln sells well) care about smoothness and comfort over sportiness and toys? Particularly when you factor in the price point? Thanks for watching and commenting.

Okay, I have more time to comment on this video review.
As I previously mentioned, I am the owner of a 2022 Corsair GT, completely loaded. The cost was $64k. As a long-time Lincoln owner, who leased many of their luxury vehicles, I didn't want to buy one as their value depreciates considerably. However, in early 2022 during the chip crisis, I couldn't get the 2023 Lexus NX I wanted, and the Genesis GV7, though a dream vehicle, had horrendous gas mileage (21MPG).
You mention Mercedes and BMW as better contenders, but don't mention that those vehicles rate very poorly in reliability. When those German vehicles break down -- and they do often -- they are costly to repair. Mercedes is known to make "disposable" vehicles that don't last. I participate in the Lincoln forum and see a lot of new owners coming over from Audi to the brand because of reliability and costly repair issues.
And I am not sticking up for Lincoln. It has a lot of issues of its own. I feel these vehicles are cheaply made, have a wealth of issues that put them in the shop for repairs, and have been the subject of many, many recall over the past few years.
In hindsight, buying the 2022 Corsair was somewhat of a letdown but one that was unavoidable. It should have been refreshed that year, but instead, I got stuck with the tiny infotainment system with an abysmally slow Sync 3 software which is nearly a decade outdated. All the improvements that should have been in that vehicle will appear in the 2023 vehicles which will start rolling off the assembly next month.
I will say, in defense of the Corsair, it's a pretty darn good vehicle despite its flaws. The ride is immensely comfortable and smooth. You get more luxury and features for the buck than any of the other luxury brands. The vehicle is tuned for regular gas whereas most foreign vehicles are not. Unlike Lexus and BMW who charge you subscription fees to use vehicle services, Lincoln doesn't nickel and dime you in that manner. I am learning, however, they will be charging a subscription for their Active Glide self-driving feature in the 2023 vehicles.
The last thing I want to mention is that it was extremely important for me to purchase a PEHV. The 2022 Corsair PEHV was significantly less expensive than what was being offered by Lexus and the German brands in the luxury segment. The most gratification I get from my Corsair is its ability to run in Pure EV for all my local driving. The amount of money I have saved on gas is immense. I only fill it halfway once every two months. During the warm months, I get about 34MPG EV and in the winter it drops to 24MPG EV. And, when the vehicle is not in EV run it drops into hybrid mode which continues to conserve fuel. It is very possible to get over 80MPG in combined EV and gas for longer trips. That's impressive!
No, the Corsair is not perfect and it is overly expensive, but I think it's unfair to say there are better choices in its class. That depends. I looked at all the competing models and you either lost luxury features that existed in the Corsair or you had to deal with gas mileage in the low 20s.

This is stuff only a long term owner can really wrap their heads around. I agree with you about the increased maintenance costs on the German brands, no arguing there. I think, this is only an opinion, that if you maintain the Mercedes and BMW they will give you the lifespan. That being said they don’t take well to neglect. It goes against their very nature. I didn’t explore the PHEV side of things as I wasn’t testing one of those. Subscriptions are coming hot and heavy and I think all manufacturers will be nickel and diming us in short order.
Thank you very much for the input. I really appreciate the conversation and it provides value to those who watch the videos.

I bought a 2022 Corsair Grand Touring on Dec 29 last year, fully loaded and I absolutely love it!
My prior 2 vehicles were 2019 and 2021 Nautilus Reserves, both fully loaded. I like the Corsair much better than the Nautilus. The fuel economy is 80+ MPG vs 21 in the Nautilus. The legroom is much better, despite being a shorter wheelbase and shorter vehicle overall. The 24-way seats are way more comfortable than the 22-way Nautilus seats. The Corsair has several features that the Nautilus didn't even offer... 7 drive modes vs none in the Nautilus, a Heads-up display, the rear seats are adjustable by 6 inches, the front camera still has a washer (the 2019 Nautilus had the front camera washer, but it was deleted in the 2021 as a cost save... disappointing), and the climate controls have hard buttons for everything, including the heated steering wheel. (No having to hunt through the menus to turn the steering wheel heat on or off!) The Corsair has Co-pilot 360 1.5 Plus which adds speed sign recognition with adaptive speed adjustment. The seat controls on the doors are much more convenient to access than being down on the side of the seat cushion, where you can't see or reach them. My vehicle did come with a 17" mini spare, unlike your test vehicle, which I believe was standard equipment on the Grand Touring trim level. The overhead lights with capacitive touch on/off are a nice feature.
The downsides were the Corsair has about 1/2 inch less hip room than the Nautilus, the infotainment screen is smaller (8-inch vs 14-inch), but is the same resolution despite the smaller size, and the Corsair is Sync 3 vs Sync 4 in the 2021 Nautilus. The only feature lost from Sync 4 was wireless vs. wired Apple Car Play. Not a big deal in my opinion since I always plug my phone in to charge any way. My biggest complaint with the vehicle is that the digital dash display is too simplistic in several of the drive modes. The Pure EV, Preserve EV, and Conserve drive modes all limit you to a single center speedometer only display, with no EV or dynamic regen braking feedback. The whole left side of the screen is just blank, wasted space, unlike the Excite and Normal drive modes, which do support dual gauge displays. I don't understand why dual displays aren't optionally available in ALL drive modes. This is a major flaw and disappointment in my opinion.
My Corsair out the door was $67,151, but as a Ford retiree, I still get the A-Plan discount, which was $6,507, plus I got the EV tax credit of $6,843 for a total of $13,350 off, or a net cost of $53,801. At that cost, I think this vehicle was a good value, and I'm very happy with my purchase. I considered waiting for the 2023 Corsair GT since it would come with the 14-inch infotainment screen and Sync 4 that I had in the 2021 Nautilus and would offer Co-pilot 360 v2.0 i.e Blue Cruise, but it would have cost nearly $5,000 more, I would have had to wait several months to get one, and I wouldn't realize the tax credit benefit until next year.

All things considered you realized good value on your Corsair. Lincoln really has made great improvements in their cars and I hope they continue that trend. At the dollar points you mentioned they are actual contenders!

We have a 2022 Corsair Standard model, AWD with Nav, heated and cooled seats with rebates under 40K. It does not have the roof, heads up display, leather.

That’s much better value. They really hammer you when you want the toys. I assume that’s USD?

I'm a 2022 Corsair GT owner. I'll offer more thoughts as I move through this video. However, if you own this one, I wanted to quickly say NOT to pull close on that center console drawer. You'll break it. You have to push it forward and the drawer will automatically close on its own.

This was a press loaner but your insight is something only an owner can give. Pulling on that drawer is totally something I would do and then break the thing. Thanks for pointing that out. And thank you for watching.

Why did you stop in the mud to do the review when mostly dry pavement was right in front of you?
