Have a great day!
Blackwake looks far better than Sea of Thieves ! It's an Indie Pirate game in Early Access on Steam so it's a long way behind the polish of SOT but it has way more potential. 16 player co-op, realistic graphics and deeper gameplay, I think it can blow SOT out of the water and I think players should support Blackwake instead of SOT. Try it.
Actually it's not an innovation it is just the same play it save AAA game with a new skin
Downward Thrust I will wait for a sale before I buy it.
Downward Thrust do you think ubisoft's skull and bones will accomplish most of the points you listed? Although that one is a lot more realistic
Sea of Thieves looks like the kind of game you get tired of after 4 hours of playing.
Sea of Thieves might be a game that could lack content in the sense of what we've only been given the last 10 years.
I caught myself saying sea of thieves needs stats on items else there's no content.
Now I realise how dumb that sounds.
Just played it yesterday. Loved it. Its one of those games that you just need to play it. Water graphics were amazing, just wandering around the ship and its interactive roles that gives each player a purpose on a ship. I hope this game does well.
Nappa Carl it wont as much as we might want it to. It is to dependant on multiplayer. Its single player elements are good but the gameplay loop is too repetitive when youre solo. What I think they need to do is embrace some modern game design like events, PVP areas to just battle other ships, more quest types and maybe hirable NPCs to man a ship or hire as mercenaries, also more customization and a clan system. As it is right now it feels like it is bare bones. It is fun but for many it has so much potential but is missing some things
They'll probably add a kraken events or Amarda's that chase the pirates down
Sparka J For someone with the imagination of a hippo.
BUT IT'S NOT WORTH 60 DOLLARS...
Seth Larcomb : That's completely subjective. If i get more than 6 hours of enjoyment out of this game, it's totaly worth it for me. And i bet i will. If you don't agree with the pricing, wait for sale or go play another game in your price range.
Refinement isn't how I would describe it, as refinement implies that improvement has taken place with each iteration. Streamlined would probably be a better definition, where they cut stuff that they think isn't popular, while improving the stuff that is. And it ultimately sucks variety out of games, which is why we are in such a rut. Because of the huge amounts of money involved, publishers are happier to copy successful games, rehash their own popular games, and are unwilling to take any kind of risk.
Truth be told, we need to punish them more for that approach, rather than buying 'meh' games because there is currently nothing better and we keep falling for the bullshit hype.
Told myself I wasn’t going to get it - but I did and I don’t regret it. I don’t have many friends that play Xbox but I’ve already made about 5 on my first day. I love the social aspect of it- giving commands “hoist the sails”, “ready the anchor” or designating a captain and trusting their commands. I enjoy the learning curb because like Elite Dangerous, it limits the rif-raf (not as complex as Elite Dangerous though). Everyone brings their own flavor of lunacy and that’s also a plus.
Hope to see you guys on the open sea!
I've been playing the closed beta and I really like the concept but I have already seen a toxic environment forming with one of my playthroughs being a camper situation where I was stuck in a constant death respawn when the players kept killing me as soon as I respawned.
still happens today
I want to play sea of thieves but i don't have friends : P
Pinky Then, make some.
Get your lonely ass some friends
Pinky Don’t worry, dude. Like that other guy said, it’s quick and easy. 😀
Pinky join my Xbox club full sea of thieves players it's called Pirates Glory
Pinky same
Who else is here after it’s release? Empty game. Didn’t change anything or diverge from modern gaming.
Choose your own adventure? You need choice for that.
And you have that.
Pick a fetch-quest with a theme. Treasure hunting, Exorcism with a sword or Merchandising!
Ur just bad lol theres hella content
That is literally all SoT is, choice...
Got to play it in the recent stress test with 3 other friends and damn is it fun. Chased a Schooner into a storm, out ship got beat up by the waves and once out of it, the Schooner took us out. They ended up coming back to look for loot and the 4 of us hid under the water until close enough and jumped on their ship to kill them, we then ran their ship into an island. That kind of create your own adventure aspect really shines in this game and I have not had that much fun in a game in so long.
When I learned about this game's existence I thought "How refreshing and original is that!"
I had no idea that Rare was actually behind all of this, which is absolutely great !
As you pointed out, the water simulation is absolutely stunning, maybe the best I've ever seen.
Buried at the bottom of the sea.
Walk that plank.
Sailing into the market.
Hold their heads above water.
See what you did there.
you forgot "cut-throat" and "plundered".
Cannonballs look like bowling balls, eh Roman?
Also forgot “on board”
nice catch ahaha
Also “gone under”
The game is already shallow, empty and unregulated it’s a griefers paradise. Many people are already walking away from it. Great concept but it falls completely short...especially at $60.
Griefing is the most fun, that is not a good thing.
They are gonna add new content
Doesn't change the fact that it's one of the biggest gaming let downs I've ever seen
I think this is the best explanation of this game that I've found. I've had to talk about this game to a few friends of mine and I feel like it's so difficult to explain that it's a make-your-own-fun game for the most part. Or in other words, the excitement comes when spontaneous things happen (which is pretty often). I've only played maybe 10-15 hours of beta but already have exciting memories in this game. I was on the fence in the beginning, even with following this game for such a long time, but I'm really excited to see how it grows and I think the base of it is so different and fun compared to many modern-day games.
So how important is it looking now?
xD
Just because a lot of people cant appreciate it , its no less important.
i love it
One of the best games I have played in years. I was worried over the price but got in anyways. So glad I didn't wait and watch some of the complaining youtube videos first or maybe I wouldn't have bought it. So happy I did.
Important as in people are tired of paying money for half assed unfinished games?
I can see that.
This game sounds a lot like No Man's Sky. I'll be holding off on buying it for now.
Congrats you dodged a bullet
@@lookforagoodname4274 worth it now ☺️
Possibly a return to glory for Rare? Hopefully!
Well they made only one good game, that was buggy as helle Goldeneye 007.
Donkey Kong Country, Killer Instinct, Blast Corps, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day.
Only 'one good game' lmao :)
Nothing really that impressive just decent/good games.
Adrian G. All the old rare are stuck in the past just look at yooka layle that game somehow was worse than the old rare games they back peddled in quality
Yeah.. you played a BETA or stress test which is about 20% of the actual game, good try though Elijah
I don't think MS Rare can be considered the same as N64 Rare...
Most of the creative talent behind that power house left the company during Microsoft's tight leashing, not that this takes anything away from this stunning game, I just consider any land mark achievements or mile stone classic games to be mute to MS Rares reputation... considering it was MS Rare that kinda butched Banjo and churned out some really shitty games in recent memory, no due part thanks to Microsoft
However personally MS Rare has now earned my trust as a good game developer, Sea of Thieves is well worth the price of entry and is everything I hoped it would be when I stomped up the £50... Hopefully they will keep on course and pump out more great games! So here to MS Rare, lets hope they can match and even beat the golden age N64 Rare :-D
ofc , SOT was made by Microsoft Studios with some people employeed as Rare personal ...
Geeky Grant whats the background music
yggdrasil thousandsand No.... the game was PUBLISHED by Microsoft and DEVELOPED by Rare.
SoT was lackluster and offered very little. I won't say that it can't be better but as it stands, it's not worth $60. Any amount of time spent after the initial 3 hours were tedious. Thank goodness I was able to experience it with a free month of GP earned through xbox achievements.
And the publisher dictates , thats how it works today
The beta isn’t to show off the full game and it being a advertisement tool, it’s to show a small slice of the game and see if there’s any huge bugs, also see if they need to fix or tweak things.
What I loved in the beta of SoT was finding a new player, jumping on their ship and teaching them to play. What other game lets you teach your otherwise enemies? And since the the game doesn't teach how to play I was able to completely evade a faster 4 man galleon in my solo sloop with a well timed anchor turn.
gee, almost sounds like paid advertising
MarkimusMaximus9 did you watch the video? He literally starts with an ad. Also no it’s not paid advertising by rare. He just only played the first 1 hour of the beta and thought it would be better on release.
1 Hour ? Are you kidding me... !?!?
All that matters is Sea of Thieves is a $20 game being sold for $60.
Ok, even if I support SoT, that's fair. It's probably not worth the price for most of the people.
20? More like free to play
Every time I watch a DownwardThrust video i can't help but fell that he and RhinoCrunch are the same person
Connor Ike except DT isn't someone who forces their religion on a friend and then plans on pocketing a charity livestream. Their voices are similar tho xD
it's like i'm the only one that loves this game because i actually know what to do in it. whatever you want it's not just about the voyages people always want a game to lead them through it but sea of thieves is all about doing it yourself and i thinks it's damn fun
SoT can be accurately described as a sandbox without toys.
"Too much water"
-ign
Is that an actual quote? If so, then the reviewers at IGN clearly did not the SEA in the title Sea of Thieves
Snapped Squire It's a running Pokemon joke
it's from their review for the 3rd generation of pokemon if i remember correctly it was something along "7/10 too much water"
All the same bullshit you just said about this game, was said about No Man’s Sky.....
alanb:) and surprise, NMS somehow launched with more content than this game. You called it.
To be fair, No Man's Sky is pretty decent now that it's been updating for almost 2 years and down to $30. Sea of Thieves is going to go a similar route, not worth $60 now but worth the full $60 by the time it hits $30 (although it's free with Game Pass, so that point is sort of moot)
O O O O O O O O F
"Free" with Game Pass. But I know what you mean.
It very well could turn into something decent down the line, but people need to acknowledge - like with NMS - that launching full priced games in this state isn't OK or acceptable. It is in no way worth your $60 now. That's the rub.
Does it offend you people enjoy different things than you do?
List of videos that didn’t age well:
Anything hopeful regarding No Mans Sea.
This is really accurate. Sea of Thieves is incredibly easy to learn. In a matter of an hour of gameplay you understand everything you need to know, yet the game doesn't lose meaning because every quest experience is unique. Whether you run into a storm, hit an enemy ship, find a shipwreck on the way, or even encounter the kraken, there's bound to be some difference in outcome with every journey, which is what allows this game to be incredibly simple yet diverse.
A good addition would be that you could steal other people's treasure maps. Or the mechanic of important looking skeletons dropping treasure maps. Or a treasure map that is drawn on a wall, but leads you to a trap with cannibals that want to eat you.
Spending $60 on no content is totally what the gaming industry needs.
Treasure hunts, bounty hunts, exploring islands, looting sunken ships, fighting skeleton forts, encountering and fighting the Kraken, PvP that always will play out differently due to the personal skills of the individual player as well as the tactics used. Heck, i have seen someone try to pull the same stunt as Jack Sparrow did against Salazar. And it nearly worked out for them. Goes to show how much creativity the game allows for when it comes to PvP. And on top of that you get the opportunity to simple mess around with your friends in a pirate themed world.
How does does this count as "no content" exactly?
MortenStorvik and ALL of that for cosmetics......its just three types of quests all being fetch quests with occasional skeletons and a kraken without a body because rare was too lazy just being tentacles, there's no point in exploring areas since there's never a reward
Milbox R Even if the Kraken HAD a body you would still not see it because of the ink. That`s how octopuses and squids work. And exploring areas can get you loot and interaction with other players.
This game has ALL that`s needed to be a good game and more. But i guess todays gamers cant be handed a gun in a game unless they are given a million ways to customise it as well - ____ -
MortenStorvik all I'm saying is this game should not be 60 dollars, 30 at most
Milbox R That is your opinion. In my personal opinion, the game is well worth the 60 dollars, especially since more content is coming. Supposed to be anyway.
No Man's Sea is Concept heavy, content light. Lots of potential, but subpar execution. They can fix it, but they are not getting my money until it is worth the price.
Comparing this game to nms is an insult to nms. At least it had something to do at launch, and sure have a lot more now. Free updates, patches, all that kept that game alive. Unlike this game which is alrwady dead.
Try it now
@@SpookyJackaBoy yep, game has VASTLY improved
99 other players ? Hell no! Its confirmed there are only 6 ships at a time on a server, could be 6x2people or max 6x4people.. so a maximum of 24 people at a time... no content and still a lot of bugs.. its a nice game, but still one out of many today and not so oldschool as you show it sir
I would like to see a max crew of at least 5 or 6. So if your one a big ship you will have a person for the masts,1 for the anchor, 1 for steering,1 for the crows nest,1 or 2 for the cannons, and if there if there is 1 extra put him for bucketing/fixing the ship.
This is the best explanation of what SoT is, and the same conclusion I came to after playing it - it's more about the experience than what content it offers, since the experience is the bulk of the content. You were able to better articulate my thoughts. Well done.
*Hopefully
HiryuuFD looks like hope lost this Time UFUFUFUFU
Fuckin called it
🎶Never never give up, if something seems impossible, answers hard to find, you woukdnt know till they try!!🎶
I though it was 16 players per game
100th like
But sea of thieves you literally do the same things over and over no matter what voyage you take lol
What’s wrong with repetition? And besides, know to voyages are exactly alike.
the water is where the 5 years of development time went
Thomas Mills Did you really just spell “two” like “to?”
so what exactly is the purpose as you go around looting and doing quest? what are you progressing to?
Joe becoming a pirate legend
Colton Ostgaard lmao
Örnest Örnsen what? I told him didn't I? Lol
lame
yeah that was what I sorta saw from the trailer itself. I didn't understand why there was so much hype before the release. Turns out there is really nothing to it. Like division when it first launched.
I literally had these exact same thoughts. Old school side scrolling couch co-op in a modern game. Pure fun. Just made this same arguememt yesterday. Glad im not the only one who realized the brilliance in that.
I hope they add some ship customizations like a ram head on the front of your ship to aid in ramming, maybe make your own figure heads or sails. Roam the seas as the phantom an all black ship know to destroy anyone it meets🤷♂️
Yeah, sorry, this is bullshit. The only things to do are voyages (quests) and pvp. You're making it seem like it's some deep, rich experience.
It would be if you had the imagination to make your own fun. Like you are supposed to do.
MortenStorvik It's fun for what it is. But to describe it like it's some sandbox wonderland of creativeness throws shade on games that actually are truly creative spaces. This game is pretty thin. Fun, but thin.
Which is what its supposed to be. You are supposed to make your own fun in a pirate themed world. Heck, this game has more content than PUBG for example yet that game is still a hit. Because its fun for what is it. And that`s all a game has to be.
MortenStorvik here’s the imagination guy again. Wanna buy a cardboard for 60 bucks ?
+PIZZA YOLO Feel like having an actual argument anytime soon?
Sandbox game without toys
phreakii
That would be a litterbox.
BS I saw cat turds -- lots of them!
I always found the phrase "do whatever you want" really hard to grasp in videogame sense. What is there to do? If there is nothing set to do by the game, what can you do? Sail from A to B. Fun for a few minutes. Then... dive underwater? Pick up a treasure? Then what? That's not "doing what you want". That's a lack of direction.
One million percent agree.
What is there to do? The game. What you enjoy isnt video games. Its filling out shopping lists.
I really don't understand the sarcasm in here, if there is any. But if the game consists of basic combat and two types of quests, I'll pass.
I prefer to play video games, not have them play me.
Im not writing a novel to explain my video tastes to a random nobody.
7:50 "In an age where games seem like they are made for profit instead of people or they're designed to make you addicted to them rather than of infatuated to them organically... "
This is so true, especially the last part wow...
The design and hook of a game should be the fun and joy of playing it, not some weekly reward system or something to make you feel like you need to play.
Though sometimes it does help to have something to do while you just enjoy the base game, content should add to the experience, not feel like chores.
I think it’s one of those games that will bring back those ‘Halo’ moments that the newer halos fail to create. What I mean is those badass moments where you take down a scarab really creatively, you know what I mean?
FinalSnowDuck yes! Exactly!
MYTHICALTWINKIE Hey man I remember you! You made the pirate game modes in H5!
FinalSnowDuck Haha yep thats me lol
It's 24 players per server just fyi
No Man's Sea
Have you played A Hat in Time DT?
Yeah, that's a real gem. DT definitely needs to try it.
The game back then certainly was a bit bland. I still think you could make your own stories. These days the seas are so much richer and diverse. You can be attacked by a skeleton ship, bursting out of the water. Evading a storm, getting lost in the shroud, harpooning loot from barrels, going through ancient wrecks, hunting down reapers chests, fighting megalodons, krakens, fishing, cooking and lots more stuff. It's certainly better with more people because making a story is better with 2 or more people.
This game is absolutely fantastic. The water and sky graphics are incredible and absolutely beautiful. The play your only game style is very fun, and I particularly enjoy the duo experience and interacting with other players. This make your own story is exactly what you make it.
calls the video "why sea of thieves is very important for gaming". talks about sea of thieves for less than a minute.
But there's nothing to do.
Beautifully said. I knew this was going to be good when I saw Banjo Kazooie at the Beginning!
Great video. I've been in SoT since the technical alphas, and it's great. Couple of small critiques:
- People are a bit harsh on how Microsoft handled Rare. Rare was pared back because the games they made just didn't sell that well. They got to make several creative games under Microsoft's wing, like Viva Pinata and Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts (both criminally underrated). What those games have in common, is that neither ultimately sold that well.
- Rare didn't make the newer Killer Instinct. It was developed by Double Helix, and then taken over by Iron Galaxy after season 1.
Sea of Thieves is a really bold dice roll for Rare, and I'm rooting so hard for it to succeed. And you can tell from all of their videos, that everyone there is 100% behind what they have made, which makes me want to root for it even more. I've seen so many people go into the game skeptical, then have their view of the game transformed by the act of simply playing it for themselves. It can be relaxing. It can be exhilarating. And yes, it can occasionally be boring. But it's like nothing else I've ever played, and what they've said of their plans for the game post-launch have me really excited.
Completely agree with this. I can't explain to my friend WHY I like this game so much. But I just keep going back to it
No man's sea
How much is Microsoft paying you?
Jacob Shabazz How much did your English teacher teach you?
There should be skeleton ships!
Coconut Brittle there is
Rare is back baby... Now all we need is AN ACTUAL Banjo 3 and a new perfect dark, and rare can finally be back on top.
This game did one thing successfully...
It made me want to go play pirates of the Caribbean online again.
Give it two months. Steamers are going to play their other games
Who cares about streamers?
+Chief Justice every early access game ever
This isn't early access tho
It’s funny how uninformed the public can be when it comes to what a Beta means. A Beta build is a build that is used to test and mark progress for your game. It is used to refine mostly finished features and allowing the player to do that was just a marketing gimmick that caught on. Never was it ever mainly used to show off the game, those are called preview builds. So I really hope that the definition of a Beta doesn’t get voided by people claiming they know what they are talking about. Also while streaming is great advertising that you don’t have to pay for, it is not the life and blood of a new release unless it was structured to be that way. Unfortunately SoT is probably not one of those.
That's what everyone said about Fortnite when the first streamers streamed it like 1 day after the BR release. Look now.
People really need to stop basing the quality of a game on its price tag. $60 is nowhere near too high for Sea Of Thieves. Use $10 per hour as a baseline. If you get 6 hours of fun out of the game, then you got your money's worth. You pay about $20 to go see a new blockbuster movie on opening day and that's only 2 hours on average, usually only around 90 minutes. And I'd say games are substantially more complicated to make and deserve the price tags they're given.
Dave Wilson I pay $10 when a new movie comes out :/
a full triple a game costs more than 60. there are plenty of games less than 60 that are better than most 60 dollar games as well
Dave Wilson welcome to something like no mans sky... Am i not right?
Denis Andronic I'm about 5 hours away for 1500 hours on No Man's Sky so I'm not a reliable measure in that regard. Heheh
Dave Wilson jesus dude 1500 in no mans sky tf youre doing in it??
Brace yourselves, the PS4 fanboys are here
Pumpkin Pie Just like the Xbox fanboys were on them no man's sky videos when it was a dissappoinent like this game lol. Well sony is handing over that dissappoint ment to xbox so that's nice :P
The ship part seems to be a bit more like it, but a hardcore realistic pirate simulation might be really cool.
I'm currently loving the heck out of it. I'm considering getting a copy for my lil sis just so I have another crew member when my friends aren't online though I will say I had a awesome time with a hard role playing captain in find a crew setup.
The real question is; do you DWT use Chrono.GG? If not, why should we? Paid sponsor = sellout, unless you yourself use and recommend (generality).
As for SoT, I was bored after a few hours of gameplay in the beta. Unless you have 3 other friends to play this with, do bother IMO.
FYI - "Emergent Gameplay" is nothing new, it has been around since the first open world game dropped...
I get the game free because of Xbox Game Pass.
Then it's not free then, moron. You are a true console peasant for even thinking this.
Obviously they mean "without paying the $60", surely you can understand this simple concept? Or must everything be turned into a superiority boast? Because you just look a bit silly for wilfully pretending to misunderstand this common language use.
Sunny Jim stay classy
Well. I mean, for as long as you keep playing it you’ll add $10 a month that you play it.
Happy 4 u. But I'm sad because i'm PS4 and don't think one game is worth switching.
It's a sandbox without much sand. Shame really, looked so promising
Honestly the game is really fun all the spots on the boat have a unique feel to them for ex: steering, lookout, sails, or navigation the only time it gets somewhat boring is when you can t find an enemy ship but the combat is so fun
I would love to see some good ship customization. Your ship should basically show what you have been trough, where you have been and what you have looted.
The game is empty, it's a 60$ proof of concept, not a completed game.
Yh. No. This video is so off point it's sad. ANd it's sad because SoT is actually the epitome of WHY we should NOT support games like this. Sea of Thieves is NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING like the games of "yesteryear" of the "golden era" or whatever you wanna call them. These games had CONTENT. SoT does not. Compare this to "Pirates!" or even snes games like "Uncharted Waters" just to name a few. In all of those games you could live your own personal story that would be unique to you, but they also had tons of content. You cold be playing for 40 hours and still find something to drop your jaw. Sea of thieves has nothing of the sort. But it does have a thing going for it. You know what it is? "Streamability". It's PERFECT for streamers who'll play it for a dozen hours or so. No, do NOT support Sea of Thieves. Support games that focus on the actual game, not solely on making the waves look cool.
ProksenosPapias What? Your grammar is so bad I didn't understand anything
ProksenosPapias props for bringing up uncharted waters. Good series.
+KnightZimmerman TheThird If you are going to attack a Comment on Grammar, actually make sure the Commentor has Bad Grammar you Dipshit...
I mean, they are gonna add new content
Uhm, no.
I was one of those people that was not sure on the price tag. I’ve watched plenty of gameplay and I am now trying to convince a friend I always game with to get it so we can play together! Thanks for the video and a little validation to my thoughts on this game!!!!
I'm really looking forward to this game.
In a time where even games feel like chores looming on me, Sea of Thieves, if anything else, seems like a good breather from all of this.
And how you described it in the video was perfect.
Good job, loved the video. and congrats for winning a new subscriber ;3
"...you've got to do all of this before you can craft that...." I hope you've played the game now and eat those words. You literally have to trudge through hours of boring, monotonous game play before you can even buy a shirt.
I think you are missing the entire point of creating you own fun.
@MortenStorvik Creating your own fun requires that a game have challenges. It doesn't mean the game should be shallow without any type of content and players create their own fun.
A sandbox is about giving players the chance to create their own experiences by providing them with the tools to do so. This has provided no tools, it is a literal test bed for water and nothing else. It lacks any content that would allow players to create their own adventures. The world has nothing to explore, enemies are incredibly easy, no death penalty, no challenge, no environmental threats like severe storms or rogue waves, etc.
+BoogerLeader
1. This game has challenge when it comes to being a skillfull crew, winning PvP, and protecting your loot from other players and the Kraken. As well as trying to prevent the ship from tearing itself apart in a storm.
If you fail any of these, your loot that you have spent time to get will be lost. Which IS a penalty for death. And the storms are already a threat so, so much for those arguments.
2. The game has many islands with caves both over and underwater to explore with hidden loot and the potential of countless hilarious encounters with others. So, so much for "nothing to explore".
3. The game has no content? Here is what you can do in this game: Treasure hunts, bounty hunts, exploring islands, looting sunken ships, fighting skeleton forts, encountering and fighting the Kraken, PvP that always will play out differently due to the personal skills of the individual player as well as the tactics used.
And all of this counts as "no content"!? My ass!
Lets compare it to PUBG which is a hit game. What do you do in that game? You spawn, pick up random gun, shot other players, use the point you earn to customize the look of your character. Repeat.
That`s all the game is, yet people love it because its fun for what it is. Which is precisely the reason people love this game.
And Sea Of Thieves have loads more content than PUBG.
4. The game does provide you with the tools. You get a ship, your friends can form the crew, X marks the spot. BOOM! That`s ALL you need to make your own experience.
MortenStorvik you really hate PUBG don’t you lmao
+PIZZA YOLO Uuuumm....i love PUBG. You clearly missed the point.
You are taking a very cynical position on current gaming. Sea of thieves is contentless. Theres just not enough there.
There is more content in this game than there is in PUBG yet that game is still a hit.
MortenStorvik doesn't make it better
Does not make it bad either.
MortenStorvik it comes down to what you think good or fun is
And many think making your own adventure and using your own damn imagination IS good and fun.
There are people who have already made several "funny moment" videos.
Also what's been seen in gameplay videos isn't at all the full game. It either the Beta or the Scale Test post March 20th. The full game is gonna be massive and have elements we haven't seen.
I too am somewhat of an intellectual when it comes to the trends of modern video games
It was wonderful to see someone concur with what I thought was my lone insight on Sea Of Thieves
Thankyou, keep making this educational content
I only played this for a few hours I had available and I was hooked in 90 minutes. I couldn't put my finger on why. This video nails it. It's old school gaming made modern and done with love.
I honestly haven't been THIS excited about an upcoming game in YEARS! I think the last one was the first Tomb Raider reboot and even then it only had me at about 6/10 excited. Sea of Thieves has me at 9/10. I really hope this game is as amazing as it looks!
With the sea of thieves beta, it had you bored after a while then you just play something else then you come back 30 minutes later wanting to play again. its crazy
have to say the water effects alone make me want to try this.
just gotta wait for videocards not to cost more than a brick of gold
I've got about 10 hrs of game time on this game so far and I love it. Get on a ship with a good crew and it's a blast. Take off on a sloop by yourself and it is still fun. The graphics are stunning and everyone is on a level playing field, the only thing that makes you better than others is your own skill. It needs more things added but the game is new and they say a big update will come soon.
Yea, videos like these from you are why I'm no long subscribed.
I watched my favorite streamer ålay this and wasnt sold. Thought it looked boring. Then I tried it myself on a scale test, and I LOVED it. March 20 is basically christmas day for me, im so excited.
I miss games like this. The games that you make friends and bonds with random people sadly i've grown too shy to play a game like this aswell i'm a PS4 player so. I'm excited to watch gameplay though.
One of the really awesome things about Sea of Theives is that most of the big streamers on Twitch love it, so provided they maintain an interest, the game will get a lot of prolonged attention from the community
I would love for them to make an armada mode for higher level players and larger groups, so instead of 1 ship you have 2 or 3 and there are several groups of multiple ships around.
The next step in the book business is btw to deliver books that look great but all the pages are blank.
It's your own adventure!
One story from my sea of theives voyages.... Just was with 4 ppl we spotted a fight between 2 teams of 2 and we were guna investigate, by time we got there one had been sunk and was In the sea. We picked him up and enlisted him temporarily to get his vengeance, we seen the culprit and made hot pursuit....However as we were closeing in and ominous dark patch spread under our shop and the kraken appears!....we battled with the kraken and it was tough but as we were fighting the culprit (responsible for our random crew members sunken ship) came in just out of reach and fired at us while the kraken was attacking, We managed to defeat the kraken but we were out of supplies from the battle and the culprit picked us apart stole our loot and ran away hahahaa
Did not play Sea of Thieves yet but I loved the make your own adventure approach the way it was in BotW.
I'm so excited for this game to come out after playing the beta. Based off the trailers there should be some cool content ahead and a lot more intricate quests. I'm just hoping they keep new content and mechanics pumping with this game to keep it fresh, that's really the make or break for this style of game.
btw the beta had very little content that will be seem in the full release. To start if there will be two more trading companies, the order of souls and merchant alliance. Then there will be player bounties, which will be very fun indeed. ship customization and further player customization will also be added and the full map will take 6-7 hours to go from one end to another. Even settlements! Rare had honestly had a hard time getting this information across. This game has a lot of potential
Choose your own adventure.
Either go on a fetch quest for 1 of 3 quest givers.
Fight another ship.
Walk, sail, look around.
That's all the adventures the game offers. A whole 2 hours worth. Would it have PROGRESSION, That's a different story
One time when digging a chest I could hear another player and their crew less than 10 feet away shooting at my buddies
Slight corrections there is nowhere near 100 players on a server it is closer to 16 however the number on a server at any given time changes to keep encounters between ships to be happening every 15-30 min. Also there is an option to use only 3 people on the 4 person galleon so options for anywhere from 1-4 players
Slight correction to your correction. Servers do not organically shift to match a 15-30 minute magic encounter rate. That is just fluffy PR talk. The servers are definitively laid out as 5 ships per server (maximum). It can be less as well, and you may go hours without seeing a ship if you're only on a server with one other ship.
Source, been studying ship encounter rates and max players per server for over a year now with well over a month of in-game playtime under my belt as one of the first alpha testers.
This game is legit what I’ve been looking for. So far I think it’s 10/10 would play again. Even though I’ve only watched gameplay not even played it. So I’m defo pre ordering it soon. Idc how much it is
From the looks of it, it seems like a game I would have absolutely loved to play as a kid.
