    Take it from a bloke whose job it is to 'raise' helmet-bowls to essentially the same shape with only a hammer and a stake.
    Spinning is quite different to pressing as the metal is moved (persuaded) to hug the former in almost exactly the same way as a raising-stake and hammer, so a deeper form of uniform wall-thickness SHOULD be the result.
    I have tried spinning a few times on a smaller scale, and I thought it would be easy, just as I also thought playing the violin would be! (Turned out to be quite an art!)
    This video is easily the best most concise demonstration of spinning I have ever seen!
