Ooh one of my plans is to knit the Whitmoor later in the year. Let us know when you plan to cast on, and I'll knit along with you 🎉 I've joined in the giddy yarns bingo challenge too, and also been a bit more specific with some make 9s...sweater edition and accessories edition! I use ravelry queue to plan my knits. I add notes to the queue and plan out when I wanna make each item. Its fluid of course, but I find it keeps me on track 👍
Hi Fran, I've just discovered your podcast after UA-cam recommended you. I'm so pleased it did! You're just my type of crafter. Lots of colour! I'm heading back to watch some of your previous episodes, I can't wait! 'See' you soon x
Lovely to see you and your makes. They are all gorgeous, but that shawl 😍 it's beautiful. I watched you whilst knitting on my socks, I wrapped my 12 yarns and pulled a Christmas yarn for January but that's okay, it's called candy cane and I will wear them, no one will know! I have a "crafting journal," and I have planned a make 9, but I have so many ideas and plans we shall see how that actually works out for me! I am going to try and work from stash and try to save a little each month as I really want a yarn advent this year 🤞 See you next time xx
Your shawl looks flipping gorgeous Fran! love your Christmas self striping socks and your lace cowl is stunning! Lovely to catch up with you! I am so looking forward to seeing you ar EAYF! x x
Wow such gorgeous yarns! I'm going to attempt to knit 30 pairs of socks and 12 lace shawls this year. Those numbers keep adjusting themselves, but this is what I'm aiming for and anything more will be a bonus. I just need to find my laceweight yarn for those shawls! 💜💜💜💜💜
Hi Fran, I love the socks and the shawl, such beautiful colours. I'm not really one for planning....a bit chaotic. I've made two pairs of the Everything November Mitts from scraps at the end of last year, one pair was for my Mum - a belated Christmas present. I'm currently making the Glittering Snowscape Shawl (Hiberknitalong2023 Stephen West) I'm far happier with this shawl than the MKAL, for one its going to be big which the other wasn't and I decided to use yarn from stash, Drops Flora. Not sure what next - I have a sweetshop blanket on the go for my daughter, which I'm using stash of stylecraftspecial dk, I told her she might have it for her second year at uni. I'll hopefully be going to Unravel as it's my local yarn show in Feb, so will be spending. I've already bought a sock set from Little Grey Girl and one from Dystopic Fibre....thankfully I'm invigilating at the moment so I can spend the pennies I earn. Anyway Happy New Year, lovely to see you inspired, all the best Camilla x
The Glittering Snowflakes Shawl is beautiful- i wish that had been the MKAL instead. that sweetshop blanket sounds lovely too- i keep looking at that pattern - but i cant add another blanket to list!
Your shawl is stunning 😍 I have only crocheted blankets so far and would love to be a bit more adventurous with my crochet this year. My main plans for 2024 are to keeps my WIPs at no more than 4 and as I really need to reduce my stash I am trying not to bring in any more yarn until Yarndale 🤞
I like your idea of more out than in 😊I’m currently taking part in Angela’s #12castons2024 which will set me up for my knitting but took stock of my fabric over the weekend, way too much 😅 need to plan some projects Look forward to seeing how your projects get on. Love the emerald city yarn, we booked to see Wicked in November. Thanks for the video and see you soon x
I figure with more out than in - I can still have some in and not restrict myself too much. I have tried planning projects in the past but i end up getting destracted by shiny new things, so i'm going to try and keep it more flexible
the shawl is stunning!! love your advent socks as well. i have a few self striping skeins from the yarn badger that I must get around to knitting with.
Happy New Year, Fran! Lovely projects and yarn as always. That Emerald City colour is going to knit up into something special 💚 Love Skillshare and I found two great watercolour artists with loads of lessons to follow - Jane Davies (if you like animals in a very loose watercolour style) and Ana Victoria Calderon (if you like a more controlled/geometric style). Can't wait to see what you paint 🎨 I have almost finished a stripy sweater with a mix of Giddy Yarns 'Poohsticks' and some yarn from local-to-me dyers (been on the needles since last Christmas!) and got yarn from Blue Fern Yarns and Lay Family Yarns for Christmas, so looking forward to making plans for those! Happy crafting! 💛
@@FrannyDoMakes Thank you. Just side seams to do (pattern used 3 needle bind off which I have not done before) then ribbing at collar, cuffs and hem, so a wearable garment is almost in sight!
Happy New Year, hope it was good. If you can remember, what is the number of your old rainbow looking glasses? I asked you before ,but don't remember what I did with it,thank you.
Love your advent socks Fran. How do you join the new yarn colours in? I find this hard to make neat. I am also making the triangle shawl, I saw it on Ali’s Little Drops of Wonderful Podcast. I am using leftovers for it. It is only coming on slowly because ai am only a beginner at crochet.
Luckily it was self striping yarn so I only had to join the yarn for the heels/ toes etc. I just start knitting with the new colour and try and catch the tail at the back of the work as I go. Take your time with the crochet and just enjoy it. I loved that project.

Oh thank you! and Welcome! hope you enjoy the others too!
I love your crochet shawl!! It’s so happy! Remember you can hold yarn double or triple to get more ‘out’ of your stash. 😉
Great idea!!

Ooh thanks Beks. I’ll have a look!! X

3 needle bind off is easy its just like a normal bind off but with an extra stitch involved each time.
@@FrannyDoMakes Sounds simple enough - thank you!
Happy New Year fran 🎉
Love your podcasts 🤗🥰
Thanks Amanda! Happy new year!!

My rainbow glasses are Firmoo #S986 still in rotation!! I love them and always get so many compliments on them - they come in a few other colours too
@@FrannyDoMakes thank you
I am just focused on shopping from my stash more this year. I have way too much yarn.
You and me both!
Hello 😊
