    I love the little info boxes. Maybe add more in future vids as it's a great way to share relevant data and your post obs. Never seen a deadblow with oil in and will try that. Thanks

      The oil allows you to fine tune your hammer, it does not take a lot of oil, I use a bit of light weight oil. Thanks John.

    Like the build, Randy have you thought of poring lead directly in the cavity instead do using shot? To me it would not be as hard a small ladle and a couple of wheel weights would do the trick

    That makes me want to make one Randy - if I ever get back into some shop time! It's so convenient and ideal for the type of usage you have done with yours. Probably be a case of hunt around in the bits box and come up with something along those lines. Hope you and the family have enjoyed a peaceful Christmas and, all best for the New Year. :)

    I always make those sorts of things for myself too. Then someone else sees it and wants one so I make another on which is usually better because I fix most of the things I did wrong on the first one. Of course I give away the best one and keep the "prototype" thinking I'll make another one "someday" including all the "improvements". Never happens of course.

      I think most are dry. I played around with shot and oil. I found you can tune it for the feel you want, I use transmission oil.

    Another fun project with lots of simple practice exercises. Can you make machinist jacks out of aluminum or would they be too soft?

      You do not have to, but it allows you to fine tune the hammer feel. It does not take much to effect it.
