- While on a short vacation in Nebraska I found a junkyard that isn't publicly advertised and they were willing to let us take a tour one Saturday. So of course we took the camera with and checked it out. I couldn't believe how much dry sheetmetal was there! As always, thanks for watching!

Got way better things to do ..been picked over for a long time
Still a lot of good stuff out there! You were awful busy doin nothing anyways.
@@futureliner what did you do, sit and twiddle your thumbs?
futureliner?lol enough said...
Loved all the vintage farm equipment and wagon wheels, always enjoy your Rusty acres shenanigans. ❤
Dude I’d be broke going there, he’s got some cool junk
YES on the Sunbeam V8 project. The Sunbeam Tiger was that car with a small block Ford V8 in it!
Yes I believe a 260 v8 just before the 289.
Yes to the Alpine!
Sunbeam with 427...make a Tiger.
Always loved just roaming around old junk yards. Even as a kid.. Just thinking about the life and work some of those old cars and trucks had.. And how it must have been so much simpler back then. (Not easier, Just a different simpler time)
As my Grandfather used to say that you would have to use what you could get or find, get what you could get, and make it work for the job, during the Great Depression. They eventually got both and the the tines look like they're for ice but could be used for hay. He always said that you were happy to be fed, have clothes, heat and roof. After doing the chores and feeding the animals.
Lots of neat stuff in that junk yard! Thanks again for taking us along. 😊
Our pleasure!
Sunbeam also made the tiger, which which looks just like the Alpine but it comes from the factory with a small block Ford.. and you can put a pretty nasty small block ford under the hood of one of those, and still keep it hidden.
Awesome
My favorite thing about you're adventures are that you point out the cool old station wagons, hope I can get one of my own some day. Great video, as usual!
Go for it!
That Alpine woul;d be a sweet project. Maybe a windsor with a turbo.
That would be cool!
It's always cool to see what's in a junkyard, thanks for bringing us along ✌️🇺🇲
You bet
For S's and G's you should have sent Puddin a picture of that Courier with the title, "Thinking of you" 😅😅😅 Thanks for sharing, Mort!
Next time!
My dad loved the suburbans ...
We had a few growing up...
He bought a 77 brand new with all the bells & whistles , including the big block...
Then bitched about the mpg til the day he sold it...
He had the heads shaved & a 321 rear dif (I think) installed but he never got more than 14 mpg...
I bought my first suburban in 95 & it got about 14 mpg ..
But it was a 4x4 ..
Since then I've had a half dozen or more ..
I still like the look...
Oh man Duff dog would have had so much fun there
No doubt
Thank you MORTSKE for a great Birthday Gift.
Happy birthday!
The Alpine Sunbeam was the car Don Adam's drove during the opening sequence of Get Smart, but I may have" missed it by that much."
Mortski bro! Yesss!!! I grew up in my grandpa's "Junk Yard" with ALL of those things lol so many different things scattered EVERYWHERE! I remember we had a 76 LTD,a Ford Edsle,3 70s wagons I used to pretend they were tanks and I was in battle lol my favorite episode so far man!
Dent Side heaven could use couple Rust free fenders, for my bronco... Hint hint. oh BTW thanks for the walk thu, really mis the days of junk yard huntin with the old man.. back in 80;s some treasured memories
Wow! The Sun Beam! And there was even a hard top, I know it was rough, but that’s a hot rod!
Still Rocking the Bud Spencer look Mortske.
Who?
I'll be damned. I was born and raised a Ford guy by a master mechanic/horse trader (my dad) and I never knew they made a manual Fairmont? Learn something new everyday. guess I never really thought enough of them to look for one though. As an adult and a bit of a horse trader myself, I'm a Ford AND a Chevy guy and thought I'd already bought and traded for all Ford and Chevys oddities. Thanks for the walk around man. I love touring old junkyards I find all across the country as a trucker.
@@therealdavis2788 the Fairmont/Zephyr came standard with a 3 speed manual floor shift, and an optional 4 speed manual also floor shift.
@@dwebs262 yeah, after I commented that, I was reminded of a manual Zephyr that my uncle bought for a parts car to pull the engine, transmission, etc for his daughter's Merury Capri when she put a hole in the oil pan and locked it up. I was kid back then so it slipped my mind. At 44 years old now, I don't think I have seen another one though.
Sleeperdude would love that one. Bit much of a travel for him tho.
@@therealdavis2788Had a friend who’s dad was a car salesman at Ford, he had a blue 1982 fairmont wagon demo with the V8 and a 4 speed manual, I remember him doing burnouts with that car all the time, with me in it.
My dad had a VW’s, they didn’t do burnouts, my mind was blown, probably influenced my bad driving habits as a new driver..😅.
@@dwebs262 my dad had a 72 (I think?) Maverick Grabber, 302 4 speed when I was kid. We couldn’t pull out of the driveway without him feeling the need to do a big Smokey burn out. I credit him and that car for every one of my stupid stunts to this day. Lol.
I will pass it along and if you ever get to Pa for anything I will hook you and the Duff up.
The Sunbeam would be great as a hotrod..that looked like a 63 or so..I had a 66 Sunbeam Tiger that was hotroded with a Ford 289 and automatic..fun car..
Glad you call out the Galaxies and early 60's Mercs. Love seeing them
I think the alpine/tiger is worth a second look
Another cool video a lot of square bodies pretty thanks for taking us along. How parts of your videos get dark .
I used these tongs to hook center line balance for my piling to make parking places for Boats in the intercoastal water ways in Southern NJ, they work great...
should have checked out that alpine, some of them were factory 289 ford powered
Interesting
I always assumed those sunbeams were worth some cash
Maybe they are
I just love junk yards , I would be in heaven
Don't let Josh from Sleeperdude see Fairmonts. They are to clean for Riceville.😂
Right
Hey Mort great video, thanks for talking us along, let’s cool stuff.
Have a good week.
Thanks! You too!
You get that Dodge truck that swept line you can get that there feller pudding to make you a short bed out of it
What a good Sunday thanks mortske I appreciate all the junkyard crawls and will it runs
Someone is downloading early to enjoy his Labor Day! Enjoy a day off Mr. M and some cold sammichs!
This is More Mortske. It is 3 days late. (When he does them, it is usually Thursday evening.)
@@docshreck4 5 more channels and he'll cover every day of the week!😆
Cool stuff, Mortske. Thanks for taking us along!
Our pleasure
You can tell it’s an Alpine by the way that it is!
Slanted tail fins are always Alpines, Tigers and later Alpines had straight fins.
Some nice stuff out there. Thanks for taking us along.
You bet
Syracuse Orangemen??
I'm from the Cuse
Great videos Man
Pizza bus is a Bluebird built in Fort Valley, Georgia. AL.
Nice surprise! Thanks 😊
You're welcome 😊
Oh my God this place is Huge! I could spend a week camping out there.
This was a fraction
If that sunbeam already has a V8 in it, it's a Tiger and worth a lot of money restored, so if you can pick it for a little money you would be quids in
Thanks for the tour. Im still amazed how quickly you can identify and rattle off all the info.
Could you do a update on the museum? How they have made progress and were able to restore some of those gems that were damaged.
Have a great week
Will do!
I believe that the 73 & 74 were the only two years of the full removable top on the K5 Blazers or the GMC Jimmy High Sierra ones! 🧨⚡💥🔥🤓
I learned to drive on an early 60's Dodge truck like that blue one! 318 wide block 4spd creeper, couple buddies and I would take off and drive it to the local lake that summer while parents was at work. We were about 12 and somehow, we never got pulled over, truck only had a farm plate on it lol. Someone needs to get that Alpine out there for sure!! Great video buddy!
Loved to have that flathead engine stand!! The bed off that 39 ford truck.
Thank you Mr M for a short but very sweet walk about in a Nebraska Junkyard . There were some Jems laying around in the weeds that were not too bad . Its nice to get out in the fresh air and see something completely different . Do take care , stay well refreshed , and rear high boots just in case . Stuart in Canada ..
As a swede it was nice to se a volvo, it was a 164 and it looked quite good for a 50 year old car.
I absolutely love those old panel vans!
Us too!
Always enjoy a yard walk !
Thanks for sharing. Most of the stuff looked pretty picked over.
.....yes , picked over - but the dry climate in central and western Nebraska , and the mostly sandy terrain , keeps under body rust at a minimum .
It looks to be a good place to pick floor and body panels , but still a lot of work to go in and cut or drag out the stuff you want .
My grandfather used to call these places “the Warehouse “. I miss those adventures, except when we stumbled on those wasp nests! Thanks Mortske!@
Very cool!
Love a good junkyard! Can’t believe you didn’t “stock up” on goodies. Figured you’d have a trailer load. Great video!
It is one of those that you can always keep in the back of your mind . Then get two or three others with trailers and go pick a half dozen or so for parts or projects .
Next time!
My Dads older brother had a yard when I was growing up. Out in the country We played in the cars and picked blackberries every summer. That was always a great day
Very cool!
Sweet, a Sunday Mortske!
This cool junk yard 😎
There's enough stuff there to open an old-timey antique store....wow.
Always ready for more mortske 🎉cheers
You always find good things
Thanks for another great video
You bet
Tom, put your blown SBC into the Vega Wagon to make a vintage '70's Street Freak. You know you want to.
Thanks for the tour!
Any time!
You could get a Sunbeam Tiger which was an Alpine body with a V8 from factory
That first ford van you showed with that cool color would be worth picking up it looked really clean
And that first for countrysquire wagon was pretty cool too
Right on!
Cool old 64 Galaxie wagon. I'm sure it's been pointed out to you that it was a 64 not the 62 you identified it as. No worries either way. You do have a lot of knowledge about many that I was just guessing about. I'd love to have the tailgate window switch off that Galaxie. I couldn't believe it was still there.
Wow, a car show for normal people. I'll bet we could get that o'l pu runnin, and drive it home, yeah buddy.
At 3;51 that Franklin stove is probably 50yrs old, I have the same one and that transition piece on top is unobtainium, took me hours to hand fabricate that 13 inch oval to round pipe.
Nice tour! Projects galore.
Thanks!
Thanks man! grab the Vega if it's the delivery one!!
I had a D200 Dodge. You should do one of those. One Tuff Truck. Mine was a camper special.
That '69-'71 sweptside is STRAIGHT, what a cupcake. Would love to see a will it run on that one, just hope it doesn't have 3 pedals or there's a good chance I'd be driving it 1000 miles home from Mortske HQ...
That single spine frame go kart was actually commercially produced, probably early sixties. Dubs actually had one! Yeah him and the (other old) guy in Kansas or wherever! Love, DuBs,,
David Bradley
Great walkabout in the junkyard on my Birthday 🎉
Happy birthday!
That old swept line needs saved looked pretty nice even the grille
Agreed
This place is awesome. It's nice how they have stuff spread out a little so it's easier to see things
and you don't have to do as much digging. When you showed the two-tone green square body,
that brought back some memories. I had a 76 3/4 ton 4x4 that was the same colors. I got it
from the original owner. It was the Cheyenne package. It had a sb 400 and turbo 400 with 4.10 posi
in the rear... You don't see very many of them in that color combination, at least where I live.
It would be a big project but I'd love to have the 57 panel. That thing could be really cool.
It looks like the station wagons that were still in the crate (wood paneling) were popular in that area.
That light blue Dodge swept line that was missing the glass looked like it was really straight.
My dad had a really nice one that had the slant 6 and 4 speed. Back when I was 18 (1979) he used it to
tow my 70 SS Chevelle home late one night after I banged second gear real hard and took out
the input shaft in the transmission. I was a little hard on things when I was younger...
Lots of great stuff in junkyard. Cool....
Sure is
That Sunbeam was cool. The Tiger model used small block Ford power plants. I never rode in any, but I bet they were screamers. I was hoping you would find an 8N with a flat head V8. Maybe someday. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Thanks for the info
A couple of those dent sides were truly living up to their name, it was a cool yard surprised the only thing coming home is a couple of hubcaps though. Or is that in the next video where you go back with the trailer
It was a ice grab. The thing you pick up and it locked down. Stick with me Morsk. You going to learn some💩😂😂
Never get tired of rusty gold
Hey love. MamaCard watching.
Cool yard to tour ! Thanks for taking us along your driver seems uninterested ! Take care Sir !
You bet
Cool. Thanks for taking us along.
You bet
That alpine was nice
90 and 91 454SS trucks use highbacks that look virtually identical to an S10 Blazer seat. 92 and 93 used the same high back buckets every other 92 to 94 truck or fullsize suv had. No low backs..I like those seats though either way haha
Good Boneyard Mortske. Don't see many like that anymore. In 63 my dad brought home a 61 Mercury Ambulance (like that wagon you passed). Red Bubble Light, Chrome Fender Siren, Gurney, whole shebang. He traded it in on a 64 Galaxies 500. Salesman must have been scratching his head on that. 🤭👍
what a cool place!! thanks for the tour mortske!!
Our pleasure!
I dig that petty blue Dodge 👍
Heck yeah who wouldn't want to see a blown Hemi Sunbeam Tiger
That Sweptline looked to be in phenomenal shape!
Sweet old engine stand these are worth some money or just practical. Thanks for recording all the awesome junk and some none junk items. Places like these are disappearing fast. Nebraska sun can be harsh so a proper head wear was a good call.
Glad you like them!
That’s a fantastic hat! I need one of those
You absolutely do!
The Ford wagon is a 64
Sunbeam with anything running would be a treat! The only one I’ve seen is on the opening to ‘Get Smart’ . Yes yes yes, any sized V-8 would be a treat.
Not tryin' to hurt anybody's feelings, but I'm not sure your buddy was an adequate replacement for Duff Dog. Just sayin' 🤔
Not even close
Duffy DUFFFY DAWG @@moremortskerepair4354
@@moremortskerepair4354 maybe for a few hours was adequate? Is what was referring? 😂
A couple of those mid-60s Ford slick side bodies would be perfect for a Crown Vic swap
Hello Mortske and Duff Dog
You maybe should have lifted the hood on the Sunbeam. The "Tiger" versions came with a 289 ;-)
Good times!😊
Yes it was!
Yes sir they were longer than the scouts!
Recognizing my bias as a Scout II owner, grab that IH Traverler @ 23:00, it'll run!
